Because, both failed to offer "good value", I hard-passed both and increased my purchasing power (by not having them and investing instead). I can not be more happy. If sony and/or microbe-soft comes up with good value high tech consoles (pc competible or not) we can iron out and meet in the middle. If not, it is totally fine. No harm done. Ok then... Why, stronger and higher tier Cpu+Gpu combo was not ended up with better results? It beats me. I can only assume direct x and/or some software issues hold the xbox series x back. No clue what really happened there. Maybe it is something to do with the operating system installed on consoles. Maybe open source operation system (and/or open source graphics libraries) runs the components better. No clue. Experts needs to explain what really happened in this generation.

Earthquakes, collapsing buildings, fightings factions on streets (sometimes throwing molotov cocktails), fallings lighthouses, flying gunships, collapsing highways, firing tank mainguns, twisters from the ocean, lightnings strikes, ferris wheels rolling on the streets, collapsing skyscrapers (which letting us to go through office complexes) and things that I do not even remember now... Dear friend @Banjo- Hardware wise, "PS5Pro" is "actual PS5", because greedy sony downgraded "PS5" even way before the announcement. Therefore, sony sold "PS4,5" as "PS5" to gamers. That is why I did not buy it. So... You are more than welcome ask "Why haven't you bought PS5Pro then?" The answer is very simple: sony released it too late... This generation's life-span is over. When we are this close to PS6, why should I waste my money for current "already dead" gen?

Long story short, I am a extremely happy owner of xbox consoles that I bought, whenever hardware & sofware is superior over competition. I'll be more than happy to buy next xbox, if;

More and better features

Adequate size & speed of storage
It is welcome to have competibility with windows store pc games & applications (Honestly... I am sick of buying games seperately).
Ditch (or groundbreakingly update) the directx, or maybe implement some opensource the runtime library to have solid software groundwork, which could be embraced by game developer companies.
Stop forcing me to pay 100 $ additionally for an expensive disk drive which I'll never gonna use.
Allow people to upgrade (or better add) ssd via pc market models.
Current price tag is more than I want to pay. But, more controller options (and brands) is very good for the market as well as industry.
Therefore, I support it, even though I won't buy it on launch date.

I have been subscribed to game pass ultimate more than 3 years and never considered to buy xbox series x because;
1 - I was never gonna pay additional 100 $ or so for a disk drive I'll never use or need.
2 - I never buy console with inadequate harddrive/ssd
All I needed was a reasonably priced, xbox series x (without that useless disk drive) and adequate ssd in it.

I was playing Diablo 4 last a few weeks (and honestly) I am pretty bored and became very sleepy (seriously, who needs a sleeping pill when you have Diablo 4?) after some sessions.
Believe it or not, I bought some exclusive games ons PS3 store and enjoying them during week (including this weekend) almost non-stop. Those games are, like:
Motostorm Apocalypse (especially lovely with 3D glasses)
As a owner of (literally) more than half dozen of AA batteries and very good charger device, I say "FOR THE SAKE OF GAME WORLD, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! CONTROLLERS DOES NOT NEED ANY EXTRA WEIGHT" just go for li-ion (or some newer/better type) batteries and be done with it.
I am sick of weak battery issues in the middle of very crucial boss fights. It is not fare...

Microbe-soft could have easily offer (around) 100 $ cheaper xbox series x without a disk drive, as a secondary option.
It is all good, after all. I hardpassed both Playstation and Xbox consoles on this (current) generation. I lost nothing. But (on the contrary) gained so much.
Lets roll on to next gen. I increased my purchasing power by skipping recent gen.
Simply, among the best decisions of my life...

Microbe-soft gave me a 2 significant reason to do not buy xbox series x.
1 - Inadequate ssd size and this (aberrant) external expension with no option to install pc compatible ssd
2 - Expensive blue ray drive which I'll never need or use...

It is ridicilous how much effort embedded inside this game.
Earthquakes, collapsing buildings, fightings factions on streets (sometimes throwing molotov cocktails), fallings lighthouses, flying gunships, collapsing highways, firing tank mainguns, twisters from the ocean, lightnings strikes, ferris wheels rolling on the streets, collapsing skyscrapers (which letting us to go through office complexes) and things that I do not even remember now...
Whole thing is just waay too good... Almost make me say "I just can not have enough". I do not even know how they even manage to code that overcomplicated masterpiece...

Can not remember if it was 2005 or 2006 but when I bought my very first xbox, I visited my close friend, because his house was close by. He had only pc back then and he saw me playing Cold Fear on his big screen tv and punched the pillow (with positive jealousy) on the couch and yelled "Damn! This game is ***** amazing! How much is that xbox thing?"
When I told him how much I paid for console + extra controller + games, he punched the same pillow again as he was not in the position to afford it at that time

Hardware wise, "PS5Pro" is "actual PS5", because greedy sony downgraded "PS5" even way before the announcement. Therefore, sony sold "PS4,5" as "PS5" to gamers. That is why I did not buy it.
So... You are more than welcome ask "Why haven't you bought PS5Pro then?"
The answer is very simple: sony released it too late...
This generation's life-span is over. When we are this close to PS6, why should I waste my money for current "already dead" gen?

Before I say anything about next gen, let me clarify a few things first:
1 - I bought very first Playstation without a second though, because there were alternative console option from microbe-soft, back then.
2 - I bought my first Xbox (as soon after microbe-soft updated the duke controllers) because Xbox was better, stronger and faster than PS2
3 - I gladly bought Xbox 360 Halo Reach Edition (with 2 controllers in the box) on release date.
4 - I purchased Xbox One S right after it's release date, because it was supporting amazing 4K upscaling for games, streams and blue ray format movies
Long story short, I am a extremely happy owner of xbox consoles that I bought, whenever hardware & sofware is superior over competition.
I'll be more than happy to buy next xbox, if;

I totally agree on your "xbox series x is a spectacular hardware" statement. I wish it was supported (as much as it deserved) both on software and contracts (with 3. party game developer companies) wise.
Hopefully not, but, probably gaming history will mention about this era as "Microbe-soft managed to upset it's own gamer customer mass'es apple cart"
I have been subscribed to game pass ultimate more than 3 years and never considered to buy xbox series x because;
1 - I was never gonna pay additional 100 $ or so for a disk drive I'll never use or need.
2 - I never buy console with inadequate harddrive/ssd
All I needed was a reasonably priced, xbox series x (without that useless disk drive) and adequate ssd in it.
But, it is already too late an I am happy that I paid total of 0 (zero) penny for current gen consoles. I am ready for the next gen. Lets roll on to it (my native 10 bit, 32", oled odyssey is ready). Lets go...

I was playing Diablo 4 last a few weeks (and honestly) I am pretty bored and became very sleepy (seriously, who needs a sleeping pill when you have Diablo 4?) after some sessions.

As a owner of (literally) more than half dozen of AA batteries and very good charger device, I say "FOR THE SAKE OF GAME WORLD, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! CONTROLLERS DOES NOT NEED ANY EXTRA WEIGHT" just go for li-ion (or some newer/better type) batteries and be done with it.
I am sick of weak battery issues in the middle of very crucial boss fights. It is not fare...
