Dear friend @GuyinPA75 I agree with you. I did not say "There should not have been a blue ray drive" Microbe-soft could have easily offer (around) 100 $ cheaper xbox series x without a disk drive, as a secondary option. It is all good, after all. I hardpassed both Playstation and Xbox consoles on this (current) generation. I lost nothing. But (on the contrary) gained so much. Lets roll on to next gen. I increased my purchasing power by skipping recent gen. Simply, among the best decisions of my life... Can not be more happy...
Microbe-soft gave me a 2 significant reason to do not buy xbox series x. 1 - Inadequate ssd size and this (aberrant) external expension with no option to install pc compatible ssd 2 - Expensive blue ray drive which I'll never need or use...
Dear friend @Titntin Can not agree more... It is ridicilous how much effort embedded inside this game. Honestly (believe it or not) I am having a second honeymoon with my PS3. Utterly enjoying some 3D (side by side) games such as; Motostorm: Apocalypse Uncharted3: Drake's Deception Resistence 3 KillZone 3 also some "ps move games" like: Sports Champions Sports Champions 2 ... no need to mention, some once in a life time games, such as; Demon's Souls BrĂ¼tal Legend Dragon's Crown Ratched & Clank - A Crack in Time KillZone 2 Zone of Enders HD Collection I wonder why I let my PS3 slim to collect dust all those years? It is a complete package joy station.
Can not remember if it was 2005 or 2006 but when I bought my very first xbox, I visited my close friend, because his house was close by. He had only pc back then and he saw me playing Cold Fear on his big screen tv and punched the pillow (with positive jealousy) on the couch and yelled "Damn! This game is ***** amazing! How much is that xbox thing?" When I told him how much I paid for console + extra controller + games, he punched the same pillow again as he was not in the position to afford it at that time
Dear friend @Banjo- Hardware wise, "PS5Pro" is "actual PS5", because greedy sony downgraded "PS5" even way before the announcement. Therefore, sony sold "PS4,5" as "PS5" to gamers. That is why I did not buy it. So... You are more than welcome ask "Why haven't you bought PS5Pro then?" The answer is very simple: sony released it too late... This generation's life-span is over. When we are this close to PS6, why should I waste my money for current "already dead" gen?
Before I say anything about next gen, let me clarify a few things first: 1 - I bought very first Playstation without a second though, because there were alternative console option from microbe-soft, back then. 2 - I bought my first Xbox (as soon after microbe-soft updated the duke controllers) because Xbox was better, stronger and faster than PS2 3 - I gladly bought Xbox 360 Halo Reach Edition (with 2 controllers in the box) on release date. 4 - I purchased Xbox One S right after it's release date, because it was supporting amazing 4K upscaling for games, streams and blue ray format movies
Long story short, I am a extremely happy owner of xbox consoles that I bought, whenever hardware & sofware is superior over competition. I'll be more than happy to buy next xbox, if;
Offers great value
Superior hardware
More and better features
Attractive price
Adequate size & speed of storage
It is welcome to have competibility with windows store pc games & applications (Honestly... I am sick of buying games seperately).
Ditch (or groundbreakingly update) the directx, or maybe implement some opensource the runtime library to have solid software groundwork, which could be embraced by game developer companies.
Stop forcing me to pay 100 $ additionally for an expensive disk drive which I'll never gonna use.
Allow people to upgrade (or better add) ssd via pc market models.
Current price tag is more than I want to pay. But, more controller options (and brands) is very good for the market as well as industry.
Therefore, I support it, even though I won't buy it on launch date.
Note:
I have fully functional (multiple) controller(s), that is why, I do not need any additional one:
Dear friend @Gabrie
I totally agree on your "xbox series x is a spectacular hardware" statement. I wish it was supported (as much as it deserved) both on software and contracts (with 3. party game developer companies) wise.
Hopefully not, but, probably gaming history will mention about this era as "Microbe-soft managed to upset it's own gamer customer mass'es apple cart"
I have been subscribed to game pass ultimate more than 3 years and never considered to buy xbox series x because;
1 - I was never gonna pay additional 100 $ or so for a disk drive I'll never use or need.
2 - I never buy console with inadequate harddrive/ssd
All I needed was a reasonably priced, xbox series x (without that useless disk drive) and adequate ssd in it.
But, it is already too late an I am happy that I paid total of 0 (zero) penny for current gen consoles. I am ready for the next gen. Lets roll on to it (my native 10 bit, 32", oled odyssey is ready). Lets go...
I was playing Diablo 4 last a few weeks (and honestly) I am pretty bored and became very sleepy (seriously, who needs a sleeping pill when you have Diablo 4?) after some sessions.
Believe it or not, I bought some exclusive games ons PS3 store and enjoying them during week (including this weekend) almost non-stop. Those games are, like:
Motostorm Apocalypse (especially lovely with 3D glasses)
As a owner of (literally) more than half dozen of AA batteries and very good charger device, I say "FOR THE SAKE OF GAME WORLD, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! CONTROLLERS DOES NOT NEED ANY EXTRA WEIGHT" just go for li-ion (or some newer/better type) batteries and be done with it.
I am sick of weak battery issues in the middle of very crucial boss fights. It is not fare...
I am a very happy owner of "Xbox360 Halo Reach Limited Editon" So... Microbe-soft needs to come up with good incentives, meaning: 1 - Dual controller must be included in the package with minor or no price increase 2 - At least 2 TB ssd must be embedded in the console 3 - Outer design & paint job must be attractive 4 - At least 3 months of gamepass gift card must be in the box
I said this back in 2020:
"Horrendously overpriced graphics card era, offers uncanny opportunity to both microbe-soft and sony. If they come up with a good value compact pc, instead of usual console. They can sell it even more than the total number of consoles in their history. It is all about the contract they make with "nvidia/amd/intel" triopoly.
With a very simple motto, like: JUST FOR A MIDRANGE GPU PRICE, YOU CAN GET A FULLY FLEDGED PC. EVERYTHING YOU NEED IS HERE
microbe-soft and/or sony could skyrocket their balance sheet.
They do not even have to include a controller to the package, as all controllers in last 25 years may easily work with it.
If (software wise) xbox series x (somehow) gets fully utilised next year, I'll be happy to witness that... I may even consider to buy it, with no disk drive and 2 TB solid state disk, if offered for a right price.
Otherwise, I'll look at the next flaghip xbox console, if such thing gets to be released.
As you know, mixed signals keep coming and makes us look like group of kittens watching very long ping pong match.
I do enjoy and appreciate "play anywhere" feature. It is lovely to (be able to) continue to games, once on console and once on my pc (rotate basis). It is a unique and comfortable, quality of life. Just can not have enough. I wish "play anywhere" feature can be also valid for bandai namco games, in years. Fingers crossed.
Mainly on my PC... But, I also use my "xbox one s" For example, I recently bought "Diablo 2 Resurrection + Diablo 3 Eternal Collection" combo. I play both on my "xbox one s" which hooked to my odyssey oled. So much fun... I can only wish, both game were supported HDR10+ (but that besides the point)
Dear friend @LogicStrikesAgain If, microbe-soft manage to come up with a "good value" solution, I'll gladly buy it. I am sick and tired of overpriced and extremely diluted graphics cards of "nvidia/amd/intel" triopoly. They refuse to provide good value options since 2017-2018. That is why I did not buy their deliberately overpriced and downgraded gpu. I have R9 380 from 2015 and not gonna buy another gpu. As I mentioned above: if, microbe-soft comes up with a "good value" pc competible solution, I'll gladly buy it.
I am happy for everyone who received the code. Not only lovely, but also meaningful gesture... Unfortunately, I'll never be honored, cause I have physical disks of "Gears of War" + "Gears of War 2" + digital copy of "Gears of War 3"
As a person, who have zero interest in handheld consoles, I totally support people to be outdoor and free. I hope it may help people to come together, share and enjoy everything in socially. I can only hope that, high price and/or windows operation system won't kill the potential. Fingers crossed.
Dear friend @Sindayl As a person who did not buy neighter "Xbox Series X" nor "PS5", I would not strech it and carelessly say "last 15 years" I happly bought Xbox, Xbox 360 Halo Reach Limited Edition and Xbox One S. I still using them along with my powerful pc. Last 15 years is not mistake as a whole. It is not typical either. There were ups and downs. Somehow, this generation failed, probably (mainly) because of the software and also some poor decision making. I'll gladly buy next flagship xbox if it turns out to be faster and stronger than PS6. More importantly, if it is priced competitively and reasonable like previous xbox consoles.
Dear friend @GuyinPA75
Thank you.
I do not expect Microbe-Soft to realize it's mistake and/or other people to join me with taking a similar stand.
I believe in freedom and it is perfectly fine anybody to act how ever they see fit.
By the way, microbe-soft's wrong decision making process (in this generation consoles), unintentionally directed me to investing for my own future, rather than wasting my hard earned purchasing power to imperfect xbox series x.
So... For that, I can not thank enough to (both) microbe-soft and sony. They (not only) saved me wasting my time and money for PS5 and Xbox Series X, (even better) they directed me to make highly yielding investments. My purchasing power keep increasing as I blissfuly clear my back log on Xbox One S + PS4 + PC games.
Can not be more happy...
As an extremely happy owner of; 1 - Xbox 2 - Xbox 360 Halo Reach Limited Edition 3 - Xbox One S I wanted buy Xbox Series X all along. But, microbe-soft did make some critical mistakes, like;
forcing me to pay additionally (around 100 $) for a disk drive which I was never gonna use
Forcing me to buy the console with inadequate storage, with a hope of I'll buy worthless seagate ssd someday. Guess what! I never bought Xbox Series X! (despite the fact that I loved it) It was a bad move to, not letting people to install, their own PCI Express 4.0 ssd they already have. Purposfuly bottlenecking the console's storage to force people to buy seagate ssd did not work. Because it was not gonna work. I did not buy it. Just like, I did not buy Xbox Series X despite the fact that I had more than 3 years of gamepass ultimate subscription. so, how profitable was for microbe-soft to not selling Xbox Series X and additional seagate ssd?
Honestly, handheld does not interest me at all. I always prefer to buy flagship xbox console which is always stronger (hardware wise) than playstation equivalent. I never regreted that I bought: 1 - Xbox 2 - Xbox 360 Halo Reach Limited Edition 3 - Xbox One S I always been happier with them, contrast to playstation equivalents. I am waiting for next flagship xbox, which I hope to be better than PS6.
I had no interest in this whatsoever and no plans to buy it. Therefore, I hardpassed it on the announcement. I'll wait for next proper souls game. I never waste my time and funds for shameless cash grab attempts. Kadokawa group corrupted From Software at very noticable degree.
To be honest... Vampirism sickness in oblivion was the big wall I hit everytime I tried to complete the game, back in the days... I was having great time, buying my own house and decorate the interior. But, vampirism sickness forcing me to stay away from sunlight and keeping me at the city sewers most of the times. It was very depressive and souls crushing. I tried to find cure multiple times but (unfortunately) never succeeded.
I waited too long (very patiently) to buy Xbox Series X without a disk drive and with adequate ssd capacity (lets say 2 TB) which never offered until my game pass ultimate subscription expired (which is around 3,5 years later). So... Despite that I was very determined to buy Xbox Series X (again without disk drive which I was never gonna need and use) but, during the years my patience consumed. I'll consider to buy next gen flagship xbox if it offers good value. Fingers crossed. Note: Despite that I never had any Xbox Series X, I always loved it. I wish, disk drive (that I'll never gonna use) and ssd with inadequate space were never pushed. Whole value and the deal is murdered upon arrival (unfortunately).
Dear friend @SuntannedDuck2 I still have Kingdom Under Fire - Circle of Doom and planning to play again this summer. I enjoyed it, back when I bought it.
I am happy that i did not rush and bought the initial models of the xbox 360 with 3 red lights of death. I patiently waited and purchased Xbox 360 Halo Reach Limited Edition. Can not be more happy.
It is just too late and very illogical for me to buy current gen xbox console. I prefer to buy next gen flagship xbox, if: 1 - Priced correctly 2 - Offers good value 3 - More powerful than PS6 (both hardware components and software wise) 4 - Have adequate size ssd for games 5 - Does not force me to pay additional 100 $ for a disk drive I'll never use. My money is ready for a good flagship console. Lets roll on to it...
@themightyant Sony says "For The Players", you say "Luxury" Believe you me, I do not like sony at all, but I am kind'a leaning towards "for the players" motto.
Windows based new Xbox with steam support sounds great (to me) if priced affordable. I am ready to buy upcoming xbox instead of an overpriced graphics card.
If Dear Mr. Phil Spencer comes up with a stronger flagship console, I'll be more than happy to buy next xbox, instead of PS6.
My funds ready.
I hope it turns out to be better, both on hardware and software wise.
...
I was preffered the very first xbox instead of PS2, years and years ago. I always been happy with it.
I am not interested in any type of hendheld, but can not wait for next beefy flagship xbox.
I am hoping that (especially software wise) it is going to be better console, unlike to xbox series x.
I played (both) on Xbox One S and PC, who knows how many hundreds of hours. Probably I almost fully consumed it. There is no reason for me to re-install it and spend more time.
Dear friend @Nintendo4Sonic Colsoles, with and without disk drive, must co-exist. For now, it is the only way we can be sure that "sony & microbe-soft" duo won't be able to abuse gamers of this world. We (all end users) are eternal friends, regardsless the type of games we prefer...

"paid off" as usual...
Re: One Month On, Oblivion Remastered Has A Pretty Low Completion Rate On Xbox
To be honest... Vampirism sickness in oblivion was the big wall I hit everytime I tried to complete the game, back in the days...
I was having great time, buying my own house and decorate the interior. But, vampirism sickness forcing me to stay away from sunlight and keeping me at the city sewers most of the times. It was very depressive and souls crushing. I tried to find cure multiple times but (unfortunately) never succeeded.
Re: One Month On, Oblivion Remastered Has A Pretty Low Completion Rate On Xbox
Dear friend @VoidPunk
Probably.

Re: Talking Point: Do You Feel You've Had Value For Money With Your Xbox Series X|S?
Re: Microsoft Discounts 'Refurbished' Xbox Series X|S Consoles In Some Countries
I am sorry, but these are not reasonable enough pricing to convince people (for example: me).
Not gonna buy it...
Again, sorry...
Re: Xbox Honors Akira Toriyama With Free 'Blue Dragon' Dynamic Background
Dear friend @SuntannedDuck2
I still have Kingdom Under Fire - Circle of Doom and planning to play again this summer.
I enjoyed it, back when I bought it.
Re: Talking Point: It's Been 20 Years Since Xbox 360 Was Revealed Live On MTV
I am happy that i did not rush and bought the initial models of the xbox 360 with 3 red lights of death.
I patiently waited and purchased Xbox 360 Halo Reach Limited Edition.
Can not be more happy.
Re: Talking Point: Would You Still Buy An Xbox At Microsoft's 2025 Prices?
It is just too late and very illogical for me to buy current gen xbox console.
I prefer to buy next gen flagship xbox, if:
1 - Priced correctly
2 - Offers good value
3 - More powerful than PS6 (both hardware components and software wise)
4 - Have adequate size ssd for games
5 - Does not force me to pay additional 100 $ for a disk drive I'll never use.
My money is ready for a good flagship console. Lets roll on to it...
Re: Xbox Is Raising The Price Of Consoles, Games And Accessories
Probably, it is time to say "Goodbye" to the console gaming approaching for me.
Seems like, things goes beyond the line of reasonable...
Re: Star Wars Zero Company Releases For Xbox In 2026, Gameplay Revealed
I hope "maps and environments" can be good.
Otherwise, I'll pass.
Sorry to be honest.

Sony says "For The Players", you say "Luxury"
Believe you me, I do not like sony at all, but I am kind'a leaning towards "for the players" motto.
Re: Xbox's Next-Gen Vision Could Transform How We Look At Consoles In The Future
Windows based new Xbox with steam support sounds great (to me) if priced affordable.
I am ready to buy upcoming xbox instead of an overpriced graphics card.
Re: Video: Phil Spencer Shows Off 'Secret Xbox Lab' For Next-Gen Hardware
Re: Poll: As Forza Horizon 5 Cruises To PS5, Are You Still Playing It On Xbox?
I played (both) on Xbox One S and PC, who knows how many hundreds of hours.
Probably I almost fully consumed it.
There is no reason for me to re-install it and spend more time.
Re: Talking Point: Will Any Next-Gen Xbox Have A Disc Drive?
Dear friend @Nintendo4Sonic
Colsoles, with and without disk drive, must co-exist.
For now, it is the only way we can be sure that "sony & microbe-soft" duo won't be able to abuse gamers of this world.
We (all end users) are eternal friends, regardsless the type of games we prefer...
