At least Xbox controllers still have a classic battery compartment. Playstation and Nintendo controllers basically become paperweights and even fire hazards as soon as the built in battery has issues. Hope MS keeps it that way.
I still think Microsoft has the ability and the talent to turn things around. It's just a matter of making the right decisions NOW. If the coming months aren't put to good use to make sure people know what Xbox is all about and where things are heading, I'm afraid the brand is done.
Goes to show how heavy this game actually is. I'm still of the opinion that it was way ahead of its time back when it released. It still looks stunning today and it's one of the best entries in the series. Shame they went all out on those Witcher clone type of games later on.
Still a bit sad about FM but at least their talents are put to good use. I also like the Horizon series but as a fan of real life motorsports I always liked FM more. It felt way more intuitive and not as sterile and gatekeepy as GT. Maybe one day we'll so it return. Until then I'm fine with playing the 2023 version from time to time.
Those speculations are all useless as always. It's not going to be cheap thats the only thing we can say for sure. If it's really going to be around 1000 bucks though I don't really see the reasoning behind this machine even existing. Being a console and Xbox Player for the past 20 Years I'm used to relatively modest pricing. And I'm sure I'm not alone with this. I sure as hell won't spend that kind of money on a videogame system. Heck at this point it would make more sense to just jump at PC gaming right away instead.
So it's carrying on the tradition of bad Ubisoft releases. The OG game launched riddled with bugs. It was so bad I stopped playing it and only revisited and finished it years later. Now it's been ruined yet again. Hopefully it gets fixed. But I wouldn't put my money on it. Assassin's Creed 3 Remastered for example still has some pretty bad glitches that they never bothered to fix.
I only ever used Gamepass back when they had those 1€ offers for 3 Months. Never have I payed full price for it. I prefer to buy the games I actually want to play. With Gamepass it's like 99% of stuff that doesn't even interest me. Why would I pay those prices for it? I don't even get who this subscription is actually for. I would never have the time to even play half of all the games on there.
Started a new playthrough of Skyrim the other day. So that is going to take up the majority of my time gaming. Other than that I also revisited my old Minecraft Legacy Edition map and I might built something new here and there, taking in that sweet nostalgia.
I'm eager to see if this really works out the way they want it to. This seems so confusing for casual players. And after all you need to bring in as much people as possible to make it big. Don't know if this is going to be it. They will need to do a whole lot of explaining what this new box exactly is.
I strongly believe (and hope, lol) that there's going to be different tiers of the new machine. They did it for the past 2 generations and also with the Xbox Ally. It would surprise me if they'd drop that business model. Series S was enough for me this generation as I'm not that interested in most modern AAA releases anymore outside of first party games like Forza. Dropping a grand on a console would never cross my mind.

Re: Xbox 'Copilot' Demonstration Hints At How It'll Work On Your Series X|S
Nice. I don't get the hate for it tbh. I use an AI Assistent on my phone everyday. And it's not like you'll be forced to use it either.
Re: Digital Foundry Speculates Whether There'll Be An Xbox Series S Successor Next-Gen
I'd love that. Series S was more than enough for me this Gen.

Good God, please don't let that be the final logo.
Re: With Xbox's 'Project Helix' Revealed, How Likely Is A 2027 Release Date?
Who knows. I'm not really in need of new hardware. Especially not if it's going to cost a fortune.
