Hooray! Now I don't have to rely on the Xbox One copy I traded in just after launch! Breaking into that poor GameStop every week to borrow it back was getting annoying.
As a big fan of multiple Bethesda titles, I have learned not to take this man at his word. They may be working on Fallout 5, sure, but knowing that wouldn't change my mind.
I'm one of the 11 weirdos who likes 0. Flawed, to be sure, but it did some cool things. After playing the 2 and 4 remakes, I really think Capcom could do some great things with 0 as a base. I'm hoping this is true!
The Secret of Monkey Island "Talkie Edition" via ScummVM. A fantastic version of one of my all-time favorites, mixing the 1992 VGA graphics and CD-audio soundtrack with the 2009 voice acting. More fun (and useful) than a rubber chicken with a pulley in the middle! Play well, all!
"The first was messy but beloved, and the same can be said about the sequel."
Can it? Can you claim the sequel is beloved already? No offense to that GameReactor author, but that sentence needed a second pass.
Hmm. On the one hand, the reviews seem a bit mixed, but on the other hand, it's made by Double Fine so I'll have to buy it eventually, thanks to that Sphinx's contract I signed.
Depends on the game. Most games I'll never replay. Favorites from my childhood I enjoy revisiting from time to time. Resident Evil 4 must be replayed once a year; this is non-negotiable.
I've been bad about taking advantage of my weekends of late, but I plan to play more Ivalice Chronicles, as well as checking out Cocoon and finally starting River City Girls. I loved Limbo and Inside yet somehow missed Cocoon entirely, and for whatever reason I've been in a "beat 'em up renaissance" mood lately. I didn't grow up with Streets of Rage (we were an SNES family), but I recently had a blast with 4 and I'd like to keep that momentum going. Play well, all! (Hmm, I like that. I might start saying that more often.)
@Wilforce Ooh, I have no idea how viable that idea is, but I really like it! If they could do it properly (seamless switching, no nasty hardware issues, affordable), it could be very cool.
@shoeses It's colorful language, to be sure, but I still consider it valid. The creative entity that was Bungie certainly fell. It's how AAA game dev often goes, so it's unsurprising, but it's still a bit of a bummer.
"Dear Valued Customer, prices are increasing across the board. For most. A certain sort of customer will qualify for a break. In some places. Unless they don't. So please don't cancel, unless you already did. If you already canceled, please resubscribe at Ridiculous Tier™ or higher. If this is not an option, please tread water while we sort out our next bit of mis-messaging."
The first Reforged was fantastic. I know The Last Express is unrelated, but seeing these treatments for classic, hand-animated adventure games makes want the same for it. I can dream!
I don't own an Xbox console at the moment (well, not a working one, sigh) but I'd be genuinely sad to see Microsoft bow out of the hardware business. They're great for competition and they've released some excellent games. I have a lot of fond memories of my OG Xbox and 360.
I feel it's akin to getting a complementary pouch of mortar. Like, cool if it comes in handy, but not exactly a stellar value-add and it certainly doesn't compensate for the price hike.
@MrStark Misreading your name as "MrStank," with such a triumphant profile picture, was VERY funny for a brief moment, haha.
I beat RE4 Remake earlier this year and loved it, which was a big relief because the original is one of my most-replayed games. Glad it seems like you're enjoying it too. I've haven't played TWD past season 1, though, even though I really enjoyed it. I gotta get back to that series at some point. And I'd never heard of Cocoon before, so I looked it up and it looks great! And it's by the lead gameplay designer for LIMBO and Inside, along with Inside's audio engineer as composer?! I'm gonna try it for sure.
Geez, your one comment had a lot of value per word for me, haha. Thanks and I hope you're enjoying your weekend!
Started The Ivalice Chronicles and dang, the presentation is fantastic. I have the original, the PSP release, and the better-than-you're-likely-assuming mobile port and I've never seen this game look so slick. The pixel artwork is great but honestly, I keep staring at the textures on buildings and rocks! The devs took so much care to mimic that lo-fi PSX look but it's so clean. It would've been easy to "upgrade" them so much that they no longer blend with the 2D characters or even oddly upstage them, but the artists showed careful restraint and I love it.
The people who make great modern interpretations and remakes of older titles often say that they try to recreate not how the source material played, but how it made you feel when you played it. Similarly, this new version of FF Tactics doesn't look exactly like the original, but rather how I remember the original looking in my rapt, reverent mind. Very cool.
Really don't feel like rewarding Warner for their behavior of late in any way, and that's not said as a judgment of anyone who enjoys this game.
Plus, there's everything that @Vordus, @Markatron84, and @EvilBear said rather well. A person of power and means going out of their way to campaign against marginalized and vulnerable people is... well, it's a lot of things. None of which are desirable to me, but I'm not a cartoon villain or a rampaging warlord or an author-turned-turd-golem, so what do I know?
At this point, I'd welcome a simple re-release of Lost Odyssey. It's a shame that game wasn't ever available on more platforms. Never could match the heights of Final Fantasy of course, but it did some interesting things and the short stories were very cool.

@Kezelpaso Yeah and I like to be helpful when it comes to pointing out typos on sites I enjoy. Imagine getting a comment politely asserting you did!
Re: Two More First-Party Games Get Dynamic Backgrounds On Xbox Series X|S
Welp, I must need sleep because I misread that as "Fist-Party Games." Goodnight, everyone.
Re: Review: Ninja Gaiden 4 (Xbox) - Platinum Propels The Series Forward On Xbox Game Pass
I'm a huge fan of Ninja Gaiden Black and Sigma, so this is sounding great to me! I hope I get to play it someday.

Re: Xbox's Minecraft Movie Is Officially Getting A Sequel, Airing In 2027
The use of "airing" in the headline reads a little weird to me. Is it coming to streaming first?

@FraserG Polite heads up, typo: "...was cancelled early in development to due to AMD wanting a commitment of 10 million units..."
Also, respectfully, it looks like the "not" in the "not even slightly true" quote should be bracketed, technically.
Re: Roundup: Here's What The Reviews Are Saying About Little Nightmares 3
This unfortunately tracks with their other releases. The quality is there, but there are always missteps (speaking for myself, of course).

@Sol4ris How the mighty have fallen, unironically. Sad to see.
