Meanwhile, the standard ROG Xbox Ally is available at more retailers in more regions, and therefore it seems Microsoft and ASUS allocated a greater amount of stock for that version in particular. As a result, it remains ready available to pre-order if you're interested in picking up the handheld in time for its launch next week.
There are no figures floating around about how many people have pre-ordered each version, but it certainly feels like the Ally X is the most popular of the two so far. In our poll a couple of weeks ago, 20% of Pure Xbox voters told us you'd gone for the Ally X, while only 3% went for the standard Ally (everyone else either hadn't decided yet, or didn't plan on getting one at launch).
Of course, we know a lot more about the Ally X than the regular Ally as things stand, but that should change as reviews, tests and various other deep dives start appearing around the release. At that point, it'll be interesting to see if both versions start selling out in equal measure - it probably all depends on how great they turn out to be!
