The report says "we can now confirm that the Resident Evil 0 remake is indeed a reality", having "been in development for a few years now". RE0 Remake is apparently under the internal codename 'Chambers', and voice and capture work for the title began in 2024 with the help of Beyond Capture Studios.
Similar to recent RE remakes, Capcom will likely take some liberties with the overall story structure in this 2028 title - with "the remake expected to expand upon the source material, although the core story will remain the same". The full article details some of these tweaks, if you'd like to read up on them and don't mind some minor spoilers.
"Now, in terms of plot, the remake is expected to expand upon the source material, although the core story will remain the same, another common characteristic of RE remakes. Before continuing, we must warn you of minor plot spoilers. The following example details new additions for the remake, which is why we’re refraining from sharing other major story beats that would give away too much."
Finally, before heading out here, the site does reference rumours about a Resident Evil: Code Veronica remake. MP1st says that RE0 could slot into Capcom's timeline after Code Veronica — the latter is rumoured to launch in 2027 — but it doesn't go as far as corroborating those rumours; the site focuses firmly on what it's heard about RE0 at this stage.
Of course, it goes without saying that none of this is official just yet - so we don't know for sure what RE remakes are coming from Capcom next. All we know for definite about RE right now is that Resident Evil Requiem is coming to Xbox Series X|S in February 2026.
