B for me. Redfall was a big disappointment and has to be taken into the factor, but we’ve had a great year for Game Pass, the other games have been really good.
I hope they continue to take creative risks personally which I think GP allows them to do. Yes I say that knowing we’ve had Redfall this year but we’ve also had games like Grounded and Pentiment from Obsidian.
@JetmanUK the way I interpret the cloud stuff is you can still do it through Cloud Gaming, just MS will be licensing those the same way other Cloud providers like Nvidia will be
Personally I wouldn't at the moment, however I also buy a lot of games digitally so for me it really wouldn't be a problem. But I do hope that a disc method is always offered in the future for those who do still collect physical.
I like why they did it in the first place, but it has backfired heavily in my opinion for them. They should have had the Series X and a digital edition of it, £100 cheaper. As others have said, I think as this gen goes in, more and more third party games will continue to have this issue. Personally I don't think first praty will be too biggie because they are only developing mostly for the ecosystem.
Hopefully next gen they just do the one console in terms of spec, a disc version and a discless one.
I absolutely adored the Telltale games when I was younger and was devastated when they went under. So glad to see them back and really looking forward to jumping into this.
@S-Bacc not strictly true. Rare, Ninja Theory, Playground are all UK studios and I’m pretty sure Sledgehammer have a satellite studio here too. So they do both have presence in the UK.
Either way I think the CMA issue is resolved by the deadline
Why would it be brought up to any authority? It had not been announced prior to acquisition, and had only been revealed after, and they quite clearly stated games would be exclusive on a case by case basis.
Unfortunately you knew the minute the interview was published it was going to be turned into a fanboy zone on both sides.
Each side is allowed to have exclusives, believe it or not.
I would argue game cases like Stellar Blade are even worse.

Re: Alan Wake 2 Seemingly Struggled To Make An Impact On Xbox In October
I'd be tempted to say wait and see where it hits for November. Don't forget it launched right at the tail end of the month.
Re: Talking Point: Overall, How Successful Has 2023 Been For Xbox?
B for me. Redfall was a big disappointment and has to be taken into the factor, but we’ve had a great year for Game Pass, the other games have been really good.

@OldGamer999 Let's see what Black Friday brings.
Re: Xbox Signs New AI Partnership To 'Assist And Empower' Game Creators
I think in the context used it will be interesting. My hope is that it is used as a supplement and not as a replacement for writers.
Re: Xbox Series X|S Sales Had A Strong Week In Japan, Rarely Beating Out PS5
I remember when Xbox were selling 200 consoles if that a week in Japan so it is good to see.

Re: New Rumour Hints At Exciting Future For Square Enix Games On Xbox
Sony acquiring SE would hurt Nintendo a lot more than it would do Xbox.
I just want to see release date parity going forward, especially with games that are revealed for other than PS
Re: Starfield Has Already Surpassed 10 Million Players
Great to see. Really enjoying it.
Re: Starfield's Latest Sales Data Reveals Major Success For Xbox In Europe
@OldGamer999 Which is mad really, you'd expect a big push in London.
I did see someone tweet about there being a numbered poster on one of the underground lines.
Re: Starfield's Latest Sales Data Reveals Major Success For Xbox In Europe
@OldGamer999 It's everywhere down where I am. I've seen it on buses, I've seen it on billboards, they were showing bits in the cinemas before films.

Re: Phil Spencer Remains Tight-Lipped On Whether Final Fantasy 7 Remake Will Come To Xbox
I brought FF7 on Playstation, and would quite happily buy both on Xbox again if they came to it. Loved those games.
Re: Watch Out! Some People Are Trying To Ruin Starfield For The Rest Of Us
Just ignore it. Ultimately you know if you’re going to play it or not. If happens to every console unfortunately.
It’s a shame metacritic don’t introduce some sort of system that verifies you have actually played the game first.
Re: Microsoft's Activision Blizzard Deal Approved In Another Country
@CaptainCluck despite all the noise, isn’t the UK like their 2nd biggest market outside the US?
And also if they want to get future acquisitions through they need to play nicely now so they can without issue.
Not long now though I imagine.
Re: Talking Point: Would You Be Interested In A Digital-Only Xbox Series X?
Personally I wouldn't at the moment, however I also buy a lot of games digitally so for me it really wouldn't be a problem. But I do hope that a disc method is always offered in the future for those who do still collect physical.
Re: Talking Point: We're Officially Four Weeks Away From The Early Access Launch Of Starfield

Have been actually quite enjoying this. Takes a bit of a grind to unlock other bits yeah I’ve been pleasantly surprised
Re: Xbox Exec 'Gets Chills' From The Moment Phil Spencer Revealed Backwards Compatibility
Yeah it’s a great feature and it’s a big shame they stopped supporting it. Maybe one day they will get back to it.
Re: Microsoft Activision Blizzard Acquisition Given Greenlight In US After FTC Loses (Again)
@S-Bacc I would suspect there will be some leanway around the order and being able to close in the interim.
We might even find out a bit at the CAT meeting on Monday if not before

Maybe a reveal at their show in 2 weeks?
Re: Xbox's Activision Blizzard Deal Officially Approved In Europe
No chance of this ending any time soon then. Pressure is back on the CMA.
Re: Xbox's Activision Blizzard Deal Officially Blocked In The UK
@Snake_V5 yes, they need to get it overruled in the UK before they can buy
Re: Xbox Fans Call On Bethesda To Delay Redfall Until 60FPS Is Ready
I will be waiting for the perf update regardless unless I dabble into it on PC.
Re: Redfall Will Only Run At 30FPS When It Launches On Xbox Series X And S
Not acceptable on a FPS in 2023 to not have a performance mode at launch. I’ll hold off until the update comes
Re: Deals: Xbox Just Added 70+ More Games To The Spring Sale 2023
@Dsswoosh yeah I think I will be doing the same for just over £8
Re: Why We're Excited For 'Ghostwire: Tokyo' To Hit Xbox Game Pass This Week
I enjoyed it, so I’m looking forward to giving it another play through on Xbox.
Re: Pick One: Which Of These Recent Square Enix Games Would You Most Like On Xbox?
We know what SE's and Sony's 2 year exclusivitity contracts are like, so I wouldn't worry about Forspoken
Octopath Traveller 2 out of the list above, purely because the 1st was on Xbox, but the 2nd is not.
Re: Deals: Xbox Spring Sale 2023 Now Live, 600+ Games Discounted
Picked up the Planet Coaster Premium Edition. All DLC for £23, not bad imo
Re: Poll: How Would You Grade The ID@Xbox April 2023 Showcase?
Some interesting games there, The Explorator stood out massively.
Re: Crytek Asks About Ryse: Son Of Rome, Gets Huge Response From Xbox Fans
The IP is owned by Microsoft isn’t it?
Re: Xbox Acknowledges Tracking Issues With April's Microsoft Rewards
Microsoft rewards seems to have really gone to pot the last few months, although I know I shouldn’t moan as it’s free points after all.
Just feels like they are almost winding down and cutting back massively.
Re: Xbox Begins Advertising 'Candy Crush Saga' As New Free-To-Play Release
Sony acquiring Square would make no difference anyway, Xbox don't see any of Square's titles as it is
Re: Xbox Takes Major Step Towards Activision Blizzard Approval In UK
Even the cloud gaming aspect, which they’ve said more are coming, I suspect will be satisfied.
Re: Report: Redfall Was 'Immediately Cancelled' For PS5 Following Xbox Takeover

Re: Reaction: Should Xbox Produce A Mid-Gen Upgrade If Sony Launches 'PS5 Pro'?
No, too early in my opinion, for both consoles.
Re: Xbox Says It's Offering 'Better Deal' Than Sony's Current COD Contract, Which Expires In 2024
To be fair, Bethesda have just launched HiFi Rush, and have got Starfield and Redfall, both releasing this year, all new IP.
My hope is yes, I hope that they would get the chance to bring back dormant IP. I would love a new Spyro, Crash, Starcraft, Guitar Hero even.
Re: Poll: What Was Your Favourite Xbox Moment Of This Week?
HiFi Rush by far, and it's been great to play through
Re: Feature: 50 Xbox Series X|S Games To Look Forward To In 2023
Going to be a great year for games.
