Re: If Forza Horizon 6's Leaked Launch Date Is Real, Xbox's 2026 Schedule Is Shaping Up Very Nicely

@Fiendish-Beaver my reasoning for a vague 2026 window being given next week is that Microsoft must - right now anyway - have a certain confidence that Fable will release this year to be giving it such a spotlight. This isn't a massive presentation with dozens of games, so by focusing one third (that we know of right now for certain) of a presentation on Fable, I feel like they'll actually say 2026. Of course, things change and I do believe it'll delay into 2027, but right now I think Microsoft will specify 2026.

That's my reasoning anyway.

I don't think they'll give any specific date for Fable at next week's Developer_Direct; I think we'll get a vague "2026 🤷‍♂️". Although, I'm with @Fiendish-Beaver on Fable, in that I think it'll ultimately get pushed again into 2027.

Who knows with Halo? Smart money would've been on November to coincide with the series' 25th anniversary, but then GTA VI happened.

Gears, I could see that in June/July.

@ILuvGames at this point it feels like we'll all be zombies before State of Decay 3 comes out.

Re: Feature: 30 Xbox Series X|S Games To Look Forward To In 2026

Markatron84

There's some cool looking games there. Barring any disasters, Forza Horizon 6 will be a rare day one purchase for me.

Also, I like Invincible but damn, that Invincible VS. is one ugly arse video game.

Also also, how many "XX Xbox Series X|S Games To Look Forward To In 202X" articles has Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake appeared in now? What with that and Beyond Good & Evil 2, Ubisoft is becoming to new king of vapourware.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (January 3-4)

I rolled credits on Pokémon Legends Z-A last night, so I'll be chipping away at Doom: The Dark Ages. Chipping away because, while I do like the game, it's so non-stop, fast and utterly relentless to the point that I can only play a chapter or two before I'm actually tired. I was the same with 2016 and Eternal.

Other than that, I have eShop credit burning a hole in my ePocket so I might see what else I can snag on Switch 2, and I might start The Rogue Prince of Persia.

Also, the citizens of Super Earth call for aid as always, so Helldivers 2.

Re: Two Xbox Game Pass Titles Lead The Way In Eurogamer's Best Games Of 2025

Markatron84

@Titntin I agree that Microsoft - as a first-party publisher, with more developers than you can shake a stick at - should be absolutely striving for quality. However, that Eurogamer list is nothing definitive. It's their list, their opinion and certainly doesn't warrant close scrutiny. PX just found a tenuous way to link it to Game Pass in order to write another article about Game Pass.

Re: Xbox Release Dates In 2026: A List Of New Games Coming Out This Year

Markatron84

Some cool looking games there. I loved Pragmata from my time spent with the demo, while the other big one for me in the first half of the year is 007: First Light.

Although, I still have unfinished business with 2025. I'm midway through Doom: The Dark Ages and Pokémon Legends Z-A. There are also a few things from last year I'm yet to get to, the big one being Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

Re: A Year Later, Microsoft Remains Highly Committed To Its 'This Is An Xbox' Campaign

the big quandary is whether "This is an Xbox" will ever resonate with those who believe "Xbox" should always mean "console" above all else.

I don't think that the "This is an Xbox" ad campaign is aimed at those people though, nor does it need to be. Those people are already entrenched within the Xbox brand and ecosystem and don't need convincing; they're going to buy the next Xbox.
