'Ubisoft+ Classics' Joins Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Hugely Expanding The Library

It might be a perk if their games weren't regularly available for peanuts in every sale. Surely by now, everyone has already bought the ones they want and if not, just wait till Black Friday where you could pick up half of them for about £20

These are pretty much all the Ubisoft+ console games, right?

Honestly I have already bought most of these, but it's still pretty cool. I love Ubi. 👌🏻

The last Ubi game I bought on sale was AC Valhalla and I regretted it at 14.99 lmao. So I've never played most of these. Still not sure I really want to though.

So I asked in the other article, but you mention here that it's similar to EA Play back catalogue. How does it work for Ubi Classics? Is it a year after launch like EA Play? Do all their games get added like EA?

Ubisoft games go from "new release" to "steep discount" probably faster than any other publisher. You can wait 1-2 months and get 30-50% off.

All of these games here have frequently been a few bucks each for many, many, many years. Some for over a decade now.

This pads out the number of games on the service but it doesn't raise the value.

I would argue that including Skull and Bones actually lowers the value of Game Pass Ultimate.

I've played most of these, some I have no interest in, I own The Division, so this definitely isn't of any benefit to me to be honest. I've been looking at the new tier descriptions as well, and Ultimate isn't for me anymore. I think I'll be downgrading to the Essential to see how that works for me...

I own almost all of these games and most are on sale for a couple of dollars apiece.....

This was inevitable for Ubisoft to make all older games as well as eventually all games…

a 50% increase to play some OLD games - many of which can be purchased dirt cheap in a sale anyway. I can see it 'adding' to the Value if the Price hadn't massively jumped up - maybe gone-up by $2-3 a month with the other additions/changes - but I doubt the inclusion of this will suddenly encourage more to sign up to Ultimate - if Anything, I think the Price Hike is more likely to see Cancellations - especially on PC where Subs are not required at all.

On Console, you still 'need' Game Pass Essential to play a LOT of the new releases - like CoD, but not on PC.

To play CoD for example, its $70 for the standard edition - you get that free ONLY with GPU at $30 a month. On Console, even though you bought and own the game, you still need to pay for 'Essential' tier for EVERY month you want to play that game. On Steam, you can play it indefinitely without ANY subscription.

It just doesn't make sense when the 'market' for Subscriptiions looks to be opening up even more with more Cloud and Handheld PC devices coming out yet MS seem to want to put people off from their Ecosystem and push them to others...

For users that don’t have these or just wanna churn and burn (play and not buy) this is a lot of gaming time. Unfortunately for me since Ubisoft games tend to crater (or I buy Collector’s Editions) I have all the Ubisoft games I want to play. Although it did allow me to try the new prince of persia and find out it isn’t for me. So silver lining.

Lots of great games here for those that have yet to play a lot of them, but, for those that already have, I don't think Ubi are spinning enough games out these days to justify inclusion.

South Park , Child of Light and Rayman are great games! Those are worth s month if you haven’t played them yet

This massive new perk has already been included in PS Plus for years now and it costs far less than GPU.

I still can't find any info on how they maintain the Ubi Classics catalogue. If it's like EA Play or not, if games drop in and out, if new games are added at a regular interval after launch, etc. Would be nice to know how this service functions to get an idea of its value and how long I have to play some of these umpteen games they added all at once.

@AverageJoseph I can't give you a definitive answer but, looking at this list, Assassin's Creed Origins (2017) is not included, so what you get is precisely the classics. However, Prince of Persia The Lost Crown (2025) is included. Probably, their rule is no recent AAA games here.

I would start with the one you feel like playing, because I don't think they are removing old games they own, but adding more very slowly. If you haven't, play Rayman Legends, Prince of Persia or any Assassin's Creed game. I loved Syndicate and it's 60fps on Series X|S, like the rest of them except IV.

@Banjo- yeah it's a bit all over the place, so hard to tell, but Star Wars Outlaws is unlikely I take it. Trying to get the info from their site or random searching, and seems like they intentionally keep it vague.

I'm guessing that because these were added on the 1st that we'll have at least the rest October to play these games, and then we'll see.

I've downloaded Rayman, Lost Crown and Valiant Hearts. I never played FC Primal, and I read that it's fps boost on SX so probably give that a go too.

@AverageJoseph Great. Yeah, it think it's going to take a while to see Star Wars Outlaws (2024) there, although it failed to meet the sales target so who knows. It would make sense to add Immortals Fenyx Rising (2020) soon. We'll see.

With the extra rate increase the Regular Ubisoft plus should be included.

Wow so many games everyone already own or dont care about them....

Unnecessary.
These games are regularly in weekly sales at next to nothing prices.
Just last week I decided to downgrade to the lowest Gamepass tier.
I thought to myself I have more than enough games to play from the sales and I have a huge backlog to get through.
I don't need eaplay. I don't need ubisoft plus. Just need online access and a maybe a few games. So I downgraded.

I'm so glad I did.

It turns out that I can still play Hades and Deep Rock on the Essential tier, so that's all I need to know.

Everyone asking for the Activision back catalogue since the deal went through and Micosoft instead offer a price increase and some old Ubisoft games most people have bought for the price of a coffee.

The thing that boggles my mind is that someone in MS must have signed a deal with Ubi and thought this was a good idea. Unless maybe it has something to do with the Ubi deal for cloud streaming rights or whatever from the Activision merger. Still weird to include even if that is the case

For the 120 extra, you can buy all those garbage Ubisoft games. This is more and more a scam the last year with this company. They thought they could trick everybody with 3 bucks increase here, 5 bucks there. Fact is this was a scam to combine both services and charge full for both. If people give them this than you can guarantee that Microsoft will increase this again and again and again. God, what does it take for you sheep to just develop some self esteem and just say no. This shows the jellyfish brains that consumers have anymore. It's how grifters get elected to embezzle your tax dollars and you cheer them on. Just cancelled, do the same. My God, they could sell you condoms and bill them as hot air balloons and you people would cheer

If this was all about thinking of you. It would be an option, not forced. If you take all the sneaky increases in less than a year. SURPRISE, it equals the cost of gamepads and Ubisoft + combined. They were scamming this from DAY ONE! Enjoy ..suckers!!!

Can't wait to gere the dredged up sewage they try and spin to sell this. I called it when they were charging all that extracto pay for garbage day one garbage they were churning out and COD. Surprise, here's another 10 a month just before another garbage COD release and to sell outdated Ubisoft garbage you can buy up without needing to pay an extra 120 bucks this year and the next hike next year. The price of everything is going through the roof, leave it to more corporate greed in a poorly veiled "perk". Lol Well, perks are optional, so no thanks. We'll just keep what we got. Too bad I already canceled my gamepass sub and won't be returning for any higher than 24.99 a month for ultimate. Oh well. Their loss.

Ok so I got Ubisoft plus for a year as I had an extra £100 so what happens with that does the time left get added to gamepass or am I out of luck
