The new Final Fantasy looked sick… until they mentioned summoning characters from old games. Now I have a sinking feeling it’s another F2P gacha title.
Final Fantasy has the Rayman video.
I don't think there's anything for me so far.
@Lup Yeah, it's switched now. Placeholder that was left in by accident!
DRAGON'S DOGMA 2 EXPANSION, IT'S HAPPENING!!!!!!
Well this is my E3 moment of the year easily, I'd seen a few vague rumors here and there but what a huge surprise. Dark Arisen was fantastic, having a Dark Arisen 2 for my 2024 GOTY, absolutely pumped to go back. Purexbox's 10/10 review by @PJOReilly was spot on.
@RadioHedgeFund exactly the same here. I felt the excitement drain out of me so damn fast.
@RadioHedgeFund Dont do this to me. Thats my most hyped game from the show. I just want a traditional game in the HD-2D sprite form.
Very average Direct for me - mostly games that are available/better elsewhere - but rescued by a few things I am really into like Xenoblade Genesis, Ocarina remake, Xenoblade 1-3 upgrades, Muramasa, Star Fox, Tales of Eternia etc. And a few I need to know more about like Final Fantasy Resonance.
@abe_hikura @RadioHedgeFund Felt the same. Very excited until they said that. it could also be a Dissidia like situation. Definitely killed some of my initial hype. Need to know more.
So I guess this means Stellar Blade missed Xbox?
@anoyonmus It's only been announced for Switch 2 right now, but that could change in the future. We've seen the same thing happen with Final Fantasy before.
@J_Mo_Money I hope it’s a premium experience self-contained single player
@FraserG Did you confirm if Atelier is coming to Xbox? I can't find proof of it anywhere else yet
I feel the direct was rather solid, not as powerful as the Xbox show but big hits for me:
@RadioHedgeFund ign has an exclusive 10 minute game play. it sounds like a story driven single player, so im back on board again.
@Questionable_Duck Yeah, it's official. There's even an Xbox Store page for it:

@J_Mo_Money @themightyant @abe_hikura GOOD NEWS EVERYONE! https://www.ign.com/articles/final-fantasy-resonance-we-played-the-first-turn-based-hd-2d-ff-game-ign-exclusive-preview
Great show! Xbox getting another Atelier game was a nice surprise!
@FraserG Oh, that's great news!
@MinervaX76 Nah KH4 will be coming in 2030.
Trust me (im joking btw)
i really wish they showed more of OoT. I'm sure ill get it but they showed almost nothing.
nintendo direct blew everyone away a rpg direct dream..
You can definitely tell the major Japanese studios save their best for the Nintendo Directs. Kinda bummed we don’t get Vanilla Ware’s new game but otherwise, a good Japanese showing for the Xbox crowd.
when you sell tens of million of consoles everyone wants to be on your platform nintendo is killing it now.
@MinervaX76 FFR and KH4 confirmed Play Anywhere. Looks like SE are all in with the Play Anywhere stuff!
@RadioHedgeFund @abe_hikura @RadioHedgeFund But it's still an adaptation of mobile F2P game Brave Exvius which was developed by Alim.
I get that it's a completely new version if it, not just a port, but that's not as exciting as I thought initially - I thought it was a brand new HD-2D FF from Square Enix. Not sold on it yet, but hope i'm wrong.
@FraserG Kingdom Hearts IV and Kingdom Hearts collection (I, II, III) and final fantasy resonance are Xbox play anywhere:
Atelier does interest me! Hell yeah.
Nintendo's Direct was filled with old third-party games launching on Nintendo, but Kingdom Hearts IV and Final Fantasy Resonance were remarkable announcements besides the Ocarina of Time remake and new Xenoblade Chronicles. It seems that from now on, Final Fantasy games will be real-time RPGs and they made a new series for turn-based RPGs. Nothing wrong with that. My only complaint is where is FF IX remake? Like others here, I love that Square Enix if fully supporting Play Anywhere, who would have thought, huh?
EDIT:
I played the Kingdom Hearts collections on PS4, but I probably will get them on Xbox now that there is a full bundle.
@Banjo- What makes you say that? It's just one game. And FF Resonance is a reimagining of a mobile F2P game, not entirely new.
I'm honestly surprised, in a good way, that the Atelier series is still getting Xbox ports. I was worried after Atelier Yumia apparently performed very poorly on Xbox.
Tales of Eternia also getting announced is great. Lot of Japanese games coming!
@Elbow Too many (not complaining). 🤣
Great Nintendo Direct, some more RPGs and JRPG's to add to the wishlist.
@themightyant same. It's cool that it's "new" but it's not the same as a cool "new original 2d-hd FF game".
@abe_hikura I thought it was a new original game. It looks great, though. I love the Octopath Traveller trilogy.
@Banjo- @abe_hikura I'd love nothing more than for them to knock it out the park and this to be utterly fantastic. But building on the shaky foundations of a F2P mobile game doesn't inspire confidence. Please prove me wrong Square-Enix.
@themightyant it appears to be inspired by the characters ect of Brave Exvius but otherwise this gives me solace ...
"This is not a port or even a remake of Brave Exvius, rather it serves as the narrative foundation with a whole new combat system and overworld. Its story has been tuned for a traditional RPG that's informed by Brave Exvius' first season with everything else built from the ground up."
