@Nintendo4Sonic yep. I'm also starting to notice that warzone assets are being reused a lot now with cod games, especially the ones that clearly didn't have long enough dev time.

Warzone should be warzone and main call of dutys should be a very separate thing imo.

@Fiendish-Beaver on solo it's definitely harder than regular cod difficulty from the past. It's probably more like hardened, maybe even veteran towards the end (I ended up finding a co op player for the final mission just to help out)

@BacklogBrad remember this review is JUST campaign. It's likely our full BO7 review will be a decent chunk higher than a 4/10...

@oopsiezz I'm glad you had a good time with it! I haven't played Endgame yet, hoping to get to that soon.

My issue, and what a lot of others will probably feel, is the campaign that leads to endgame isn't really a COD campaign at all. They could have fleshed out endgame and had that as this year's PvE experience?

@Fiendish-Beaver No problem! I also hope to do a full review - I just like to get campaign out there ASAP because multiplayer and Zombies need more time.

In regards to the final mission, the game basically rolls credits at the end of the prior mission, and then yeah - you get thrown into the 'endgame' experience. I just backed out to be honest - the campaign is classed as 'finished' — with an achievement pop — before this happens.

Having said all this, I would not buy or play this game for the campaign alone, never 😅

@abe_hikura Black Ops 7 makes MW3's campaign look great. I said at the time that I just thought MW3 was a bit short and a drop off from MW2 - but it still felt like a COD campaign. This does not...

@SodaPop6548 Yeah that's fair, we all have our way of responding to this stuff. Some folks are more invested in the behind-the-scenes goings on, others not so much.

I suppose Tim is entitled to his view and so is Eurogamer.

@SodaPop6548 The thing is though, you could argue the EG score is an opinion on how the game was made rather than the game itself.

The majority of readers want to know how the game plays, not the ethics of its creation. Maybe that is best saved for a separate feature...

@Fiendish-Beaver @FraserG On that second point, we could be in a position next-gen where 'Xbox' games are just 'PC' games that are verified to work on their new system.

If that's the case, you'd imagine Xbox might cut costs in terms of like certification and other things to do with its old 'console' backend. This is speculation a little bit, but as Fraser said, they must be having those talks and figuring it out.

If Xbox games become PC games I'd assume there's some backend stuff that's simplified for the Xbox team, maybe helping out that 30% margin.

@Feffster worlds collide is the campaign pack for bo7.

In terms of what you need, it's probably easiest to just install every bo7 pack for now. Although campaign/multiplayer/zombies look huge size wise, I noticed that when you install them all each Individual size is reduced and it comes to a more reasonable overall footprint (107gb for me testing on series s)
You can delete the bo6 campaign pack if you're only intending to play bo7 here.

@themightyant I'm sure there were rumours/evidence that MW3's campaign was also remastered and just left for some reason. Probably as the series gained popularity again with the big MW reboot and Warzone etc.
It's probably on a hard drive somewhere 😅

They're probably figuring out how to market the next console around it when it comes to PC 😝

@somnambulance Yeah, definitely. It feels like a complete experience with a vision that's been seen through from the start of development to release. Something that's becoming rare with MP-only games.

@Coletrain I have my suspicions that they could just be remaking the bungie campaigns while making a halo MP project at the same time... No information on that, just conjecture.
The reception to Infinite's campaign wasn't exactly glowing across the board, and where do you go after that?

@ElPadre666 very good from my first few hours. 60FPS, no major drops. There are no modes on console from what I see, just the default setup.

@SingleStooge we cover these at the end of every month when Xbox Wire posts them. They're more an overview of everything that's been worked on / added over the past month rather than a new patch - often some features have been available for a little bit already.

@dreadful @Stamnoso trust me, it's confusing for us as well. The best place to check which tier each game is coming to is when Xbox drops its Game Pass roundups every fortnight or so.

Iv had no issues connecting to the web and playing games, but store features haven't been working at all for me.

Halo: Combat Evolved hasn't had a proper remaster job since the Xbox 360 version so it'll need a much bigger update. All the rumours so far seem to suggest it'll be more of a remake, so, I wouldn't expect it to be free for existing owners either.
Will they go full RE Remake? Who knows, but I'm very curious to see it!

For some reason searching on console seems bugged with this game, but if you install via the app you can get it downloaded right now (and let's hope it works fine on launch and doesn't ask for some magical Game Pass upgrade 😅)

@themightyant Yeah, that's how SBMM should work in theory. The issue with COD's implementation is it was more a yo-yo where you went from sweat lobbies that were too difficult, to noobs where you'd do well; back and forth.
I'd much rather skill not really be considered and just get a more random experience, it's just more fun that way IMO.

@AccessibleDaydream Our audience is more into the variety of Game Pass and such than stuff like COD. I'm a sucker that still plays it every year but we typically don't get that much engagement 😅
