@Fiendish-Beaver one thing that's worth noting is some of Microsoft's wording around the price increase said 'within the next 12 months' for this. It felt a bit vague but there's every chance they meant 75 games from the overhaul, which was the start of October and would squeeze in all of those late 2025 releases...

@betterthings that doesn't mean Microsoft only releases. The 75 day one games will include indies/third parties.

@xboxjapanfan well it's about to release on ps5 and switch 2, I'm sure that will help Microsoft recoup some more costs on it.

@somnambulance Agree, Blackout was better 100%.

It was like a proper BR with COD gameplay, Warzone is a glorified big team mode with its respawns, loadouts and such. And it got bloated over time, as you say.

@Enriesto I think 9 feels pretty replayable, yeah. I'm already thinking about doing another run this weekend!

The only thing I'd say is that if Requiem split Grace and Leon's sections like the RE2 remake did with Claire, it'd perhaps be even more replayable. As it is, you're going to have to play through both of the styles in each run.

@Smackosynthesis The game frequently switches between the two of them, but yeah - the first half is a lot more Grace and the second half a lot more Leon.

I didn't have a problem with that though, personally.

I'm not the most clued up on that tech tbh, I never really have issues with stick drift on my controllers.

@themightyant Yeah. I think they're factoring in early access with that price as well - I'd expect the campaign DLC to be £20 or so when it comes out.

Sure it's free, and sure that'll drop off, but to call Highguard 'DOA' is strong. Let's see how it's faring in a few months' time.

@Fiendish-Beaver Personally I couldn't give a damn about finishing the Gears 4-5 story 😅. It was fine, especially 5 which got a bit more interesting, but I never really bought into where it was going.
I think exploring e-day is much, much more exciting. And as you say, that could have come after Gears 6 but we only have so much time on this planet 😅

@TrollOfWar I left that off because it was ultimately cancelled before it came out. If anyone else wants it adding we can slot it in there for good measure 😅

@Fiendish-Beaver I agree that it's probably not some intentional exclusivity for Xbox, however, I do think there are other factors aside from dev time.

FH5 is still selling on PS5, I wouldn't be surprised if MS wants to delay FH6 a bit to keep sales rolling in for 5... After all, the launch hype on other platforms might lead to a final boost for 5 on PS5, with 6 to then follow.

@fatpunkslim yeah, the PS5 version could be next year! I was just making more of a general note of this year's release before going on to mention the timed exclusivity.

Given how well 5 is selling, youd think they won't wait too long to get 6 on PS5.

It definitely won't have been decided in direct response to BO7, but it could have been in the plans when Acti knew we were getting back to back BO games in '24 and '25.

@FatGuyInLilCoat Playground is the lead developer, Turn 10 is supporting development.

It's assumed there's a level of this that goes on with every Forza release, but Turn 10 seems to be lending more help with FH6, and leaving FM behind as a result.

@themightyant Black Ops 1 had a good chunk of it set in Vietnam, but it still very much felt like a Cold War/Russia game rather than Vietnam.

A Call of Duty: Vietnam in the same vein as World at War or WW2 would be cool, imo.

@abe_hikura I think they probably saw the MW3 backlash but had this BO6/BO7 plan already in place. The hamster wheel was still moving.

There's a certain element to this statement where it's like, Infinity Ward is probably back next year with a big overhaul anyway, so this community address makes it look like they're responding to feedback when in reality, their pipeline is probably looking a bit better now anyway. Hard to know for sure, we'll see how things go I guess...

I said at the time of the overhaul that Premium looks better value now and as the months to by, loads of games are being added.
I think ultimately it depends on the quality of these "75+" day one games, as you say.

@GeeEssEff Thanks sir! Yes, ARs are ruling the roost at the moment - they're definitely the strongest category and seem fairly usable in those SMG ranges as well.

I'm getting cooked way more than in the beta, I just assumed that was likely due to the enthusiastic players picking this one up on day one. There seems a lot less casual interest this time around, maybe that's affecting things?

I feel there's a good base to MP but it does need tweaks.

@SodaPop6548 I think the likes of BO7 and MW3 the other year launching a bit undercooked is more a symptom of post-covid game dev, to be honest. Call of Duty is trying to keep up this insane schedule when it's becoming harder and harder to do.

Having said that, it's definitely something Xbox — and us in the community — should be keeping an eye on. Two out of the last three CODs just haven't been up to scratch at launch, and it's going to affect the series. I've played every COD and will often defend it, but games like these two are making me less interested in the series - even when the likes of COD2026 (Infinity Ward) will probably end up more polished like BO6.
