Poll: Ahead Of Developer Direct, Which Is Your Favourite Fable Game On Xbox?

2026 is the year we finally get a new Fable game, with Xbox developer Playground Games having been hard at work on an Xbox Series X|S reboot for years now. So, with us less than a week away from seeing it in full force at Developer Direct 2026, which is your favourite Fable game so far?

The first game is obviously a classic and got its Fable Anniversary version all the way back in 2014, so are any of these versions of the OG Fable your favourite in the franchise? We're going to bundle them together for the sake of this poll, but either way, Fable 1 is definitely a worthy pick here.

We'd expect Fable 2 to be pretty popular too - this one arrived on Xbox 360 all the way back in 2008; introducing co-op and opening up the series to a much wider audience. You've then got Fable 3 left from the main trilogy, which is perhaps a little less loved but still a great Xbox RPG nonetheless.

We're also going to include the series' lesser known Xbox spinoffs to be totally fair here - but yeah, come tell us which your favourite Fable game is in the poll down below!

Never played a Fable game. The art style and sense of humor never clicked for me.

Definitely the first game. In a strange way the Fable series has mirrored the trajectory of the Xbox brand. The first game was unique, original, and didn’t feel quite like anything else on the market. The sequels tried to broaden their reach and capture mass appeal in a very by-the-numbers way, losing so much of what made Fable 1 so charming. Fable’s 2 and 3 felt watered down, and in addition there were some poorly implemented mechanics and systems on top of that.

Whilst I hold out high hopes for Fable 2026 I bounced off 2 and 3 pretty quickly. Although I wasn’t all that into fantasy RPGs back in the day when I initially played them.

@Kezelpaso No "Fable Legends" option?

I played the beta, it wasn't that bad. It wasn't that good either... But it had some potential.

@TrollOfWar I left that off because it was ultimately cancelled before it came out. If anyone else wants it adding we can slot it in there for good measure 😅

I’ve enjoyed all of them, but: Fable Fortune for me! While not a mainline title, it fit perfectly into the Fable universe as a CCG. Beautiful cards bursting with personality and humor, interesting enemies with a diverse attack set, and a killer co-op mode that made the game less combative and far more complementary, I greatly enjoyed my all-too-brief time with Fable Fortune. I’m not shocked it closed down as you really didn’t need to spend any actual money to be competitive.
