It's a difficult question. I don't think... that better graphics make better games. HD is ok for me. Portability means something nowadays. The more beefy hardware, the more expensive the games are to develop. The Xbox Pass and cloud gaming could rupture this circle of potent hardware - though this wouldn't resolve much for the developers, just for the end user.
Think I'll continue my Deas Space 2 endeavour. Once finished I'd start on Dead Space 3. Otherwise Alien Isolation (just got it during the blk-fri weeks). For casual gaming I'd navigate back to something less deadly: Cities Skylines
Cities Skylines. And enjoying the pictures posted of Starfield. No way I'm gonna invest in that game. Way-WaY-WAY to big and time consuming. Want to play games where I feel something's been accomplished within minutes (or perhaps hours on a Sunday). If I'm gonna explore space I'll listen to Richard Pogge's astronomy podcast series. 45mins, well entertained and also a bit more educated:)
@__jamiie just my thoughts. It might even be non-linear - just make it possible to finish with in a reasonable amount of time. Then if playing the game was a positive experience, one can revisit it with some different difficulty level.
...and that length of a game is why I'm not gonna buy it. I also have to care for friends, work, sleep, dog, food. Gaming is supposed to be a fun and relaxing endeavour. A game this size more seems like stress for me - When will it finish? When will it finish?
I'll be watching some of the videos published online to grasp the awesomeness of this piece of art. But I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna play it.
Played online once on the Xbox Live service. Got slaughtered immediately, and have since then switched to Nintendo online gaming. Can't remember the name of the game. It was a beautiful setting on an ice planet full of monsters and a good story. I had finished as singleplayer, and wanted to get some friends online. Never happened.
@JayJ I'm a seasoned man. 50 orbits around the Sun. Complex graphics and never ending gameplay doesn't necessarily make a good game for me. Right now I'm rediscovering NFS Most Wanted on my PS2. Look at the current version of Mario Kart from Nintendo. It's been out for almost a decade, still in top ten and still sells at day one proposed price!! The recipe for a successful game includes a bit of everything and normally ... not too much of something.
I choose S instead of X due to its small form, minimal design, low price and low power consumption.
Got a current gen console to experience the might of Cities Skylines
Have not been disappointed yet by its gaming performance.
The only nag is that the system won't pick up my Movie and Music server...
Wow. Stellaris Deluxe Edition for only 15€. It's a keep. First thing I did this morning was buying this game (with a cup of coffee - so technically buying the game was the second I did this morning).

Re: Some Xbox Fans Aren't Happy About 'Intrusive' Call Of Duty: MW3 Ads
Intrusive adds would be a clear reason to ditch the Xbox as there are other alternatives where this doesn't happen. Thankfully I haven't seen any yet.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 4-5)
Moons of Madness. Like Mars games. This one is somewhat buggy, though. Still, I like the atmosphere and physics-science involved.
