I beat Ace Attorney: Phoenix Wright this week and I’m currently halfway through Ace Attorney: Justice for All.

Gonna play A Short Hike before starting Starfield on Wednesday.

Xbox I'll be playing more of Starfield it's great but there's too many loading screens and I'm not a fan of the ship combat. On PS5 I've started a new game in Mafia Definitive edition and Pokemon Brilliant diamond for Switch has just been delivered plenty to keep me busy

I got myself a Series X with GPU last week, and despite downloading a decent number of games that are new to me, so far I haven't been able to tear myself away from Forza Horizon 4 and 5.

Two of the most enjoyable racing games I've played.

Starfield, Starfield and more Starfield.

Only reason I’m on here is because I’m waiting for the kettle to boil.

Hi there fellow gamers,
After finishing Final Fantasy XVI on PS5, I´ve been on a Xbox Series X craze and have played and finished a bunch of games available on Gamepass and some that I´ve purchased on sale.
And as of this weekend I´m still very much enjoying one of my favourite racing games of all time, Forza Horizon 5.
Other than that, I´ll be playing Street Fighter 6 on my PS5 and more Zelda Tears of the Kingdom on my Switch.
All that while I´m eagerly anticipating for Starfield to be available on Gamepass September 6th. Just a few more days.

At least I have a couple more days with the Forza's before Starfield, but with Baldurs Gate 3 and Phantom Liberty incoming in September, let alone the rest of the library.

What a time for us to be gaming.

When it comes to TV and film, I pretty much keep up with the stuff I want to watch. With games now? Not a chance.

Ok I cracked I got the Starfield early access.

The good news is the 30 FPS hasn't made me feel dizzy yet so I have been able to put in a few hours.

The main story hasn't grabbed me but fortunately there is a f... ton of other quests to do. I am doing the United Colonies Vanguard quest line at the moment which I am enjoying.

Starfield's main selling point is its scale but that scale also works against it as it means a lot of filler, generic quests & tasks.

Don't get me wrong I am having fun and I think it will be worth my time (& I expect it will be a lot of time.) but it's not perfect as the hype might have you believe.

If I was to rate it I would go 8.5 / 10 it's a good game but there are things that work against it too depending on your preference.

The gaming backlog is indeed real.
I even have games still with the plastic on.
But even with Movies and Tv Shows, I´m still behind on so many of them.
I was only able to play and finish some games as well as watch some movies because I got sick with Covid and had to stay home for a week or so.
There is just not enough time to play and watch everything and have a job and social life.
Having said that, it is a very good thing that we have so many good quality things to play and watch these days.

This week I finished up Red Dead Redemption on the PS5. It took me about 40 hours to get a 90% completion rate. I’ll more than likely take a break and come back and collect the remaining outfits and treasures I’ve missed along my journey. People can call this a barebones port all they want — the game still looks gorgeous, runs fantastic, and is such a fantastic game narratively. It holds up incredibly well, especially in tone and atmosphere. It’s a masterpiece, and I can’t wait to see where the franchise inevitably goes from here.

My main source of gaming will be focused on Sea of Stars for the PS5. So far, the game is excellent and hits all the right notes for a nostalgic 16-Bit RPG experience, similarly to Chained Echoes last year. Thankfully, this game lives up to my own lofty expectations. It features some of the best pixel art I’ve seen in a game and gorgeous cinematics that is bolstered even more by its charming characters and world. And the soundtrack; my god, it’s amazing. My only real complaint is the lack of a map early on, which is minuscule to begin with. This will be my main priority as I wait for Starfield to release, although I’m tempted to obtain early access by buying the premium addition after reading the rave reviews.

S.T.A.R.F.I.E.L.D. on PC with DLSS modded in. After a rocky start to the game (some fps issues) it runs and looks great. BG3 will have to wait, sadly, as it's an excellent game as well. Some Uncharted 1 on my PS5 for nostalgia kicks. But mostly Starfield. Mostly.

Starfield. I'm really getting into it now that I've got quite a few quests on the go. Just passed the flight combat simulator exam for the UC Vanguard. Got annihilated in the fifth wave though.

@BBB As someone else who can get motion sickness at 30fps (and first person, generally), I'm planning on third person for Starfield and my usual adjustments to slow down the camera rotation speed.

Are you (or anyone else) playing in 3rd person and if so, how is it?

Killzone: Mercenary (Vita) - Nearly there with the campaign, but really getting back into Botzone with the bots difficulty cranked to the max.

Contre Jour (Windows Phone) - Beautiful platformer that only gets more challenging as you go along.

@fabisputza007 you're in for a hell of an ending with Yakuza, don't put it down.

As for me, was able to finish up Diablo 4 this week - killed uber Lilith and got a hardcore character to 50, my last 2 achievements, so now it's all Starfield all the time save for a weekly night of Remnant 2 with the boys. I'm up to Mars and loving it save for the excessive menu travelling.

@Pranwell yup I am using 3rd person for both on foot & ship content (though you can skip a lot of ship stuff with fast travel.)

The game play is smooth with no noticeable stutter so that helps me.

Hope you manage the 30 FPS too and can have some fun with Starfield.

(That said as soon as a 60 FPS mod drops and it will come out I will be using it. Bethesda might not be willing to compromise the "cinematic feel" but you can bet a modder certainly will.)

All about Sea of Stars. Fantastic game. To highlight a point made by the devs - pacing is great. Zero grind and no task or enviro overstays it's welcome - always on to the next thing.

Wrapping up System Shock 2. What an incredible game. I don't think it's quite as good as Bioshock or Dead Space, but it's very clear how influential it was.

I'll probably play some more Remnant 2 with the guys tonight. My buddy finished his campaign a while ago now and is going for the final archetype. I think we are a little over halfway through my campaign, but we have all been playing each others without too much repetition considering how different each area can turn out from the procedural generation.

Might play a bit more of Bayonetta 3 when I finish up SS2. Still only 2/3 to 3/4 of the way through that one.

Not much real gaming for me this weekend. If I have some time I may play a little Star Wars Jedi Survivor.

Otherwise, I have been tinkering around with retro games on my laptop and listening to sweet, sweet Midi music patched through the Roland Sound Canvas VA plugin or emulated Roland MT-32.

First off, I have no idea how anyone finished Elder Scrolls Arena - sweet mother the control scheme is awful, and the game is just hard as all get out! Thank goodness Micrsoft supplies PDF manuals/reference cards for the games!

2nd - The original Fallout is better than I expected.

3rd - Gosh I miss the point-and-click genre so much!

I will say, one of the best thing improvements to games in my 37 years of gaming is in-game tutorials.

@BBB Yeah I'd take a drop in resolution and even effects any day to get to 60fps. But it is what it is and I'm still looking forward to having a go.

@lechugajr Sea of Stars is high on the list for me, looks great.

Oh yeah funniest Starfield NPC line goes to random miner on Mars.

I'm heading off to the lake for Labor Day Weekend so while I'll be doing lake games I am bringing a controller to attempt cloud play on my tiny iphone mini. nothin serious, I just want to see if it works over a very middling wifi. Something simple and clicky like Stardew Valley.

But I'll also bring the Switch - which is really the only way to go mobile imo. I'm trying to wrap up the abysmal Pokemon Scarlet and get started on a better RPG - of which I have too many in backlog.

I feel you. I miss those games too. Baldur's Gate 3 brought about this sort of nostalgia in me. Loved Fallout 1 and 2 back in the day (multiple playthroughs).

@Razputinman when I think back on the games of this generation that made the biggest impact on me it will be Animal Crossing, Bayonetta 3/Bayonetta Origins and Monster Hunter Rise. I had the most fun with MH Rise and won't ever miss a Monster Hunter game again because of it. Have fun!

This weekend is all about Armored Core VI for me.
May finally be able to go back to Trails to Azure aswell now that my IRL stuff has finally settled down(been a rough two weeks for me so haven't had the energy to focus on it but hopefully that will change).

Still playing Baldur's Gate 3 on my PC. Finally about to commence Act 2. Whilst I have no desire to rush BG3, my Collector's Edition of Starfield (the one with the watch) is sat unopened on the settee, looking at me somewhat reproachfully! I'm absolutely desperate to dive into that too. Seeing people describe it as Fallout in space is precisely the type of game I was hoping for.

So many great games in such a short period of time. 2023 is a classic for games. A year like no other.

I couldn't resist and I started Yakuza 6. So I'll be playing the "last" chapter in the Kiryu saga. Now I don't know if I'll be playing Starfield Day 1 or not.

Armored Core for me.

@ToyTitan2267 I did the same, although there's a number of Xbox only games I've always wanted to try as well so it was always going to happen sooner or later (so I tell myself).

The Forza Horizon series is proving even better to play than I'd imagined.

Am curious about Starfield but epic space exploration has never been my thing - even going back to the days of the original Elite. Will give it a go one day on GP, but in the meantime I'm hoping to find some time to continue with BG3. About to start Act 2 and think I'm going to start mainlining the core quest from now.

After last weeks not so busy week it feels oddly refreshing to have a huge week to follow it up. Two big main games of the weekend are gonna be Zelda Tears of the Kingdom and Baldurs Gate III. Yep I got that early access PS5 version so I’m looking to dive into the years top rated game alongside the previous holder of that title. But that doesn’t mean other games ain’t getting love. On rotation this week is probably the most amount of titles I’ve ever done. We’ve got Zelda, Pikmin 4, Fire Emblem Engage: Fell Xenologue, Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed, Disney Illusion Island,, and of course Splatoon 3 and the 1 year Anniversary Splatfest. Y’all already know I’m going Team Shiver for it. Over on the PS5 a more modest rotation of Baldurs Gate III, Tchia, Sea of Stars, FFXVI, and hopefully finishing up RE6. Gonna try catching up on the anime again this week so we’re at least one week behind. Summer has definitely been a weaker season. The anime this weekend of course being Atelier Ryza, My Tiny Senpai, Ayaka and Liar Liar. Special music shoutout this week to the new Jujutsu Kaisen intro Specialz. It’s so good. Shibuya Incident Arc is here bois WE ROLL. And Podcasts of course Into the Aether, Castle Superbeast, Big Think Dimension, Remap Radio and Fire Escape. I'm playing The acrobatic phenomenons of Beavis's buttplug and Butthead's beav plug.Oh and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

Cities Skylines. And enjoying the pictures posted of Starfield. No way I'm gonna invest in that game. Way-WaY-WAY to big and time consuming. Want to play games where I feel something's been accomplished within minutes (or perhaps hours on a Sunday). If I'm gonna explore space I'll listen to Richard Pogge's astronomy podcast series. 45mins, well entertained and also a bit more educated:)

Starfield of course. Got the deluxe edition of the game for £74 from CD Keys as i want to own the game even though i have gamepass. I Don't mind buying Bethesda games as i get mega value out of them when you consider the time played on them. It's worked out well because i have free time to play it on early access but would be too busy on release day.
May also nip on TOTK on Switch as i feel guilty for not playing it since Starfield came out.

@SpecialT I would love another midtown madness game. I still play MTM3 on the original Xbox.
