@GuyinPA75 the demos Nvida is showing is using not one but TWO RTX 5090 cards. No console is going to have that power. That is around $5000 in just GPU’s. Now it’s rumored the next Xbox will have 20x the ray tracing power of Series X. Which is a huge leap. But not two 5090’s power.
@FishDude i never said it wasn’t a PC/Console hybrid. In fact that is what we have all known it will be. It will play your PC and XBOX games. The same way the Steam Machine will be a console/PC you hook up to your TV. It’s never not been known to be that and that’s what many of us are exciting for. Myself included!!
I don’t care what PS has cause it has something i don’t like to us and that is it’s controller. So it could have every game ever made on it but i rarely play mine cause i don’t enjoy the controller. They fix that to something I enjoy using and then i will reconsider.
@Banjo- i agree, and the refund for digital purchases on Nintendo and Sony is embarrassingly bad in year 2026. Banjo you know when Xbox does something stupid we are hear to say WTF. But there are post making fun of Xbox on post about nothing related to corporate mistakes and it turns into Xbox is Dead and there goes my library i am going to say something. For those that don’t want the next Xbox, that’s cool, don’t buy one. But stop with the phony claims that MS is out of hardware and not supporting your collection of Xbox games. That is simply not true.
@nomither6 the games and Ui, i played a insane amount of TitanFall, so much so that i wish i had waited longer to pick up my PS4. Cause i didn’t play it hardly at all in year one. There were things on the Ui for Xbox one that i really liked and really hated at first. PS has yet to have a Ui i think is good. I really like the design of both Xbox Ones, i know that won’t be a popular opinion but i liked it. I liked the PS4 as well that Gen.
@GeminiX53 thanks, it isn’t a bad name. For as much as i liked Xbox One and Xbox One X. The name was just so bad. I loved the hardware and controller way more than the other consoles of the time. But that name was a mistake and they need to make sure this name makes sense and has easy marketing tie in’s.
@Fiendish-Beaver Me and you both are BIG Xbox fans. I will get that point out of the way. But the one thing i see on here a lot and not saying you, is MS taking bad comments when they aren’t stepping on rakes. When they do i blast them as well. The price hike to GP was STUPID and they did more things that i thought were dumb as well. But some on here are just throwing shade at the fact Xbox is still even around and doing things. Now for your point.
Xbox has been the ONLY company in the past and just this last week that talks about game preservation. They have a dedicated backwards compatibility team. They always talk about your WHOLE Xbox collection coming forward with you and they have already started talking about that with Helix. So why all the Doom and gloom about we spent all this money and Xbox is pulling the rug on us. They ain’t, they are the only company respecting your past purchase history and makes it run better for free. Ask Nintendo if they do that? Ask Sony if they give free updates to older classic PS titles. Hell Sony only has 2 generations of games on a box. So my comment of go over to that side and see how you are treated stands for everyone reading this. Most of us have all 3 consoles and we know this is an area Xbox destroys the competition in. The issue is is anti Xbox fan’s make videos all the time on Xbox is Dead and leaving hardware and they are stopping support of this and that when MS has never said that not to mention keep saying and showing they have more in store for the future. There were people on here a few weeks ago saying next gen XBox would be cancelled and here it is they are giving hints to it coming in 2027 and what it will do. People saying this is the last console, how do any of us know that for sure? Anti Xbox fans are laying rat poison and rat traps all over and Xbox fans are eating it and walking into it to stay up with the trend. Again MS has made many mistakes with Xbox, known fact. The one thing they never did was say screw your past titles and we are done in Hardware.
Good idea in practice as we have more tech in today’s world to meet gamers in different places and platforms. But the marketing behind it and just the way it sent a message i think was wrong. Glad to see it retired and on to the console/PC hybrid messaging.
@MaccaMUFC on Moores law is Dead, they have the leaked chips at around 20X ray tracing performance on Helix over the Series X. It will be a night and day difference. Both next gen consoles will use ray tracing to be the standout graphic bump. I am excited to see it. Wish Helix was this holiday season.
@BacklogBrad The 'xbox is dead' crowd won't like this.
HAHA you beat me to it. I was going to say this. There will be videos on YouTube today with this interview spinning it into Xbox is Dead. A cat has 9 lives, a Xbox has 25 years of being dead and still alive.
@themightyant i am not saying i have the answers nor know what they will or should do. But a few idea’s i think that would at least be a good start.
1 advertise the Xbox more and Better
2 Drop the online paywall
3 get Gamepass ultimate to $20 a month
Just those 3 make the console more felt by players. Don’t mean it will light the world on fire for sales. That ship for this console cycle has sailed. But it’s good press leading up to the next console.
@BIG3 if she let us delete a game we tried and didn’t like but scored 5G on it and let us delete it from our list. I would send her three fifty to her banking account. I hate that I can’t control my achievements and get rid of games I didn’t even like.
@Millionski I talk about today’s Xbox all the time. It has better services than the completion in consoles. It has a WAY better refund for digital purchases than current other consoles. It has free cloud saves over current consoles. It has better Ui features than current consoles (Quick Resume) etc. I am unapologetic for saying I like my Series X better than current consoles today.
I remember reading on here from some that Phil needs to go. Well he gone! So now we have to see what is next. This week has been a doozy for the industry, we need something exciting to be a pick me up. The industry really is having a hard time recovering from those inflated Covid lockdown numbers. The red line that must go up is driving everyone to forget that was a once in a 100 year event that inflated numbers across more than just gaming,
Sad to see Phil go tho, I was always a Phil guy. I liked that he was a gamer and really loved video games. It showed and the last year or so he has been distant and you could tell the love of the business was a little lost in his eyes and voice.
@Zenszulu you are correct and thats why MS get’s roasted over it daily on the inter webs. I guess Sony didn’t want to be left out in making poor upper management decisions this generation. This isn’t a he did she did thing. They are both making big mistakes and throwing money away.
@themightyant they HAD a lot of multiplayer add on’s to single player games in the PS3 generation for sure. I always liked that balance for them. PS4 was a lot less focus on multiplayer cause they just paid COD for marketing rights and stayed away. Which was smart to some degree. COD was massive and they didn’t want to put the time and money into multiplayer for it to be ignored. I respect that. But then the change happened and that was razor thin profit margins on single player games and the industry focusing on monthly returning investments, such as services and in game loot etc etc. Sony wants and needs that money and Jim the Tim Tim Nid Rod Ryan was just the guy to push it hard. While he was out flying the PS private jet trying to block MS from getting ABK he also had the time to refocus Sony in house software projects and it’s been a train wreck to put it nicely. If Marathon flops, and it might not flop but it won’t be a cash cow. It could last 6 months to a year maybe at best before player count drops. We are talking Billions in investments to chase this software cash cow and again go for it if that’s what the company needs to please investors and such. But don’t close down BP which could have been easy money and also why in the world were they working on GOW live service. Why would anyone do that? Herman Hulst claimed in his email Sony don’t have enough IP, well give BP a chance to make a new one, they wanted to do something new and original. Anyways i just think there is no way around it, Sony has been a mess this generation upper management wise and one more move like this and they will over take MS as the worse management in gaming and that is something i never thought I’d say HAHA
@GamingGod Steam has very little employees. Run’s a highly profitable business and is pro gamer and has as loyal of fans as Nintendo if not more. So it can be done. It’s a matter of know how and smarter planning. To much waste in the world and then they want to blame the system instead of themselves. Accountability is lost, that is where your worry should be in my opinion.
I mean i would be ok with this. But it wouldn’t hurt my feelings if they were on team Red, Nintendo. That’s super unlikely to happen of course. But i would be happy about it. But i do hope BP lives on.
@themightyant i don’t know as i am no insider into Sony. One thing i do know is they did a heavy pivot from single player to live service and i ain’t talking like one to two studios. I am saying dang near all of them outside of the marvel team insomniac. I am not so sure that didn’t come from Sony higher up’s. Especially since many of them cancelled and supposedly didn’t have a big enough team to support the title into the future. Well somewhere along the way Communication and planning was thrown out the window. I was looking forward to the live service push in the beginning as i grew very bored with Sony first party titles. They all played the same in the PS4 generation to me. So I welcomed it. But it tanked hard and took a lot of money, time and teams down with it.
@themightyant Yeah sadly that is true, as we know. But i am sure there were better idea’s than a live service God of War game that Sony handed them. That is just a plain out dumb idea. Still sucks to see BP gone.
@johnedwin Bluepoint did not want to do remakes anymore but original games.
So did Sony not want those original idea’s or did they just want more remakes and live service games? Cause fairgames will likely go under on their next live service games. Bungie is so so, Insomniac is basically a Marvel studio. Seems like some original new games could have been a nice fit. No?
@johnedwin you mean like they did for Battlefield 6 and other titles? Yeah good call 🙄
The Top selling games are almost the same on both platforms. It’s just Xbox has a smaller marketshare and another way to pay to play. Otherwise game IP’s in the top 10 are the same on both platforms . GTA 6 will sell gangbusters on both.
@datamonkey If it’s optimised for the pro I’ll get it there.
It would have to be really reduced as GTA is one of the few games that are CPU bound and the Pro has largely the same CPU as the Base PS5. Not saying they couldn’t reduce NPC’s and such but it won’t be the same likely as the CPU will bottleneck this game until PC and Next gen.
Well on the bright side Sony still has plenty of studios to make Sad Dad games and never forget Naughty Dog is going to go as Woke as a Joke on their next game. So I’d say PS5 still has plenty left in the tank. Good thing they are delaying PS6 🙄
@GamingGod Sony does make a lot of revenue but their profits have been razor thin and the investors have been asking for more profit. Just sucks for some of my friends at Bluepoint. I am from Austin and this is the second closure of studios this gen in my hometown. I plan to drive by the studio this weekend and see if they are moving stuff out. Sad times.
@Millionski Moores law is dead has the AMD leaks as PS6 between a 5070 and 5080 and the Magnus (Xbox) at 5090 specs we will see in time but moores law has good leads with his AMD leaks. It makes sense for the time frame they are targeting. But price will be a concern on both fronts.
Windows will for sure be the kernel but it will not be the OS. The already said that without saying it. It will be Console like Ui for controller support. Windows kernel will be a plus for the Xbox as games will be made for PC all around and scaled per hardware spec. They should have done this sooner in my opinion. That’s what the OG Xbox was about. PC hardware under the Tv.
PS5 and Series consoles are just X86 boxes with closed ecosystems. Which is fine but opening it up more i think will be welcomed by a lot of players. Others won’t notice or care.
Sadly Steam might be cooked in the hardware if prices on parts don’t come down soon. They don’t have. The scale nor the cash to burn like the big 3. For as good as the Steam Deck is it’s around a 5 million unit seller. People on here whine and cry about 30 plus million Xbox sales and praise a steam deck that has around 4.5. Not sure with the lesser specs and lack of retail if Steam Machine can do all that much better and with the cost of parts it might be a tough to launch device.
For me i will get the next Xbox and PS6 and of course i already have a Switch 2. But i find what Xbox is cooking to be really interesting. PS6 will be a more powerful PS5 which is fine but i can’t use a Sony controller for my main platform, so it will still just be used for Exclusives here and there and if Xbox don’t deliver what i want i will just go PC with a Xbox controller and Switch 2. So the industry has a lot of options still which i find to be a good thing. 😊
I am more of a Red Dead fan, but it would be nice to see the tech used on GTA 6 as it will be carried over for RDR 3 or whatever they will call it. I just hope the rumor is true that RDR 2 Series X is still coming out this summer before GTA.6 marketing. Nate the Hate the most reliable leaker in the business say’s it’s real and still coming. My hopes aren’t high but i want it to be true. GTA 6 on Series X for me just not sure about launch.
@Millionski MS didn’t go the easy way for the Series consoles. They made Xbox and Xbox 360 titles BC and not only that but upscale and run better FPS and resolution. It’s rumored to do the same with the next Xbox but even taking it a step forward if rumors are to be believed.
I get it, it’s easy to just on the MS will do this, MS will do that. They are Dead etc etc. but PS5 and Series X are PC’s now. They are just closed off. Next Xbox will just take more advantage of windows gaming and devs will have a baseline now for PC and all those games will come to Xbox. Xbox in name is PC to console. They did that early on in their beginnings. They are going back to it but in a bigger way. It won’t be for everyone. But many will go for a $1000 dollar console that outpowers a much more expensive PC equivalent. Moore’s law is Dead has the leaked specs to be a 5090 when it comes out it will be behind the 6090 but a 5090 will still be upwards of a grand by itself. So a Xbox that has that type of power and came play all your steam and Xbox games will be marketed towards the pre builds that are more expensive.
@Fiendish-Beaver we don’t know what the PS6 will cost anymore than we know what the next Xbox will be. It’s all YouTubers and some leakers talking at the moment. Both will be expensive. With Xbox being a more powerful and premium box. Likely even able to use word and excel. Making college kids and younger types gettting it over a less powerful PC. Steam always gets this credit like they sell many units. The steam deck is at like 5 million sold tops. Steam Machine we have no idea about and it’s super underpowered, the price of that and not having retail will likely make it another niche seller like the deck. PS6 won’t be cheap but it has a healthy worldwide fan base that will support it. It just depends on when the RAM and storage bubble burst. That will drive up the price on all devices using those parts, much beyond just gaming.
@Millionski Xbox already has its Ui and Xbox OS in the works. That has been talked about. It will be in line with what Steam is doing on the Deck and console. MS themselves has said the next Xbox will be console plug and play focused around a Ui and windows light type of OS. So that i think is mostly settled on and it’s been on this site they are hard at work on tweaking that with the learnings and findings from RoG. That was an early testing launch for their bigger plans. The SOC with AMD has been talked about forward and backward compatibility. Something MS has lead the industry in. So i am very much looking forward to their efforts there and we may get some more leaks and conversations with MS leadership about it sooner than later. But they have spoken a lot already about it being a console and open like a PC. Even said players that don’t want to leave the Xbox side will use it like a new Series X.
@fatpunkslim @Fiendish-Beaver i know you aren’t trolling buddy, we go way back. But yes what FatPunk and myself are saying is very true. You wouldn’t out spec the PS6 to be a cloud only based machine. The Xbox ROG is a download from a store front. Trust and me and Fat on this one. Now that doesn’t mean you will or won’t like the next Xbox. But you will buy and download games to it.
@Fiendish-Beaver that would never happen. Cause they are building it with power to play it locally. Plus they don’t need hardware to stream games. Cloud streaming is a thing now on an App via your TV. You don’t need hardware for that.
@fatpunkslim you wouldn’t even need any specs for streaming it would just be an app on your TV or handheld as the cloud server blades and internet is your horsepower. The type of console MS is building here is raw power. It’s going to be desktop type power just under your TV with console like experience. Which sounds great truthfully. A console that is no longer locked down. You’d think more players would be welcoming that. Plus if the rumor holds true of no online paywall. This is a win in my book.
@Fiendish-Beaver play anywhere is just a license of owning the game. So you can legally play it on other devices. It won’t be streaming. That would kill the whole idea. The idea is maybe you have a beefy PC to play games on at home but when you are on the go you want to be able to play on a handheld. Now you can and it’s not streaming it. That would cause more mess and make players not want it. If gamers want to stream games there is cloud gaming for that.
@Fiendish-Beaver the next Xbox will not be streaming games. Why put in all that power and SOC’s if it’s a cloud streaming device? It’s going to be a local hardware device. Even Phil said on the Xbox handheld he knew gamers didn’t want to stream and have the games locally on the device. So you can for sure take that worry aside. You don’t build a $1000 plus device with RDNA 5 with 30-40 GB of ram to stream.
@Titntin couldn’t agree more friend. At one point in my life Castlevania was among my top IP’s all time. Symphony of the night to me is a masterpiece. The Super NES games are great. I always wanted to see it come back. I am afraid to say this will be a slam dunk as I don’t know enough about it. I don’t want it to be rougelite or anything like that. I want it to be modern day Castlevania and if it is. I won’t be able to put the controller down on this one. Might even have to double dip and snag Xbox and Switch 2 copies. Finger’s crossed.
@nomither6 thanks my friend. You do as well and you know I love it when you call the dual sense a fatty over on the other website. HHAHA makes me laugh every time.
ME: no one can make a controller more uncomfortable than Sony
Steam: Hold my Beer!
Hard pass based on low VRAM and controller design that is barely better than the first attempt. Which was so bad I laughed when I held it that people actually paid for it to use.
@nomither6 to your point and i agree. People’s laptops, cars and truck don’t come with a disc drive no more and yet people complain that physical is dying and playing second fiddle. Of course it is. Consoles are some of the last purchases on planet earth that come with a disc drive. The only thing i like about Dual sense is the included internal battery. The Elite 2 has a great battery, i hope we get that on this new updated controller. It would be a huge welcome!!
@Cakefish if you don’t know me well on here, i will just say i am a controller snob. It’s the most important part of a console to me. I own a Series X, Switch 2 and PS5. I play my Xbox the most cause of the controller feel in hand. PS5 controller kills my left thumb in 30 ish minutes of use. So i main console Xbox over PS cause of the controller and really little else. Maybe ui but 80% controller. To your point Switch 2 controller shocked me how comfy and nice to use it is. I love it. I snagged Red Dead for Switch 2 as well as Xbox with the latest update and the controller for switch 2 feels great. So now my PS5 is basically if i have to play it there i will and my left thumb will kill me. I know not everyone is controller crazy like myself but it makes or breaks a console for me and PS has yet to make a controller i can say i truly enjoy. Switch Pro controller is great, nice shout out!!! 😊
@dskatter i know what you mean. You ain’t wrong! Some of it tho is Nintendo still carries a nice market share on physical games. Sony and MS and of course PC is just so far digital and growing even more and more. Nintendo likely will be the last hold out on physical. But yeah i feel for you physical owners cause i don’t think yall get a fair shake of your money these days.
@dskatter i know what you mean. But physical buyers have to understand they are now the smaller market and not something all dev’s prioritize. Sucks i know. But it’s just the nature of where the money is and more players buy digitally. Even stores are carrying less and less physical and shrinking the retail space for it. I don’t buy physical but i would like to see it be there for those that enjoy it still.
@dskatter likely disc space. As Switch 2 don’t use high res texture packs. Lot’s of games simply don’t fit on Blu-Ray anymore. I mean let’s be honest some companies are just cheap and don’t want to bother with physical media. There’s that. But many games with high res texture packs simply don’t fit on disc and so you download it all. With Switch 2 most of their games are smaller and of course compressed so i am not sure why key cards are such a thing. Anyhow, good showing for the Switch 2 today and of course later this spring we get the 1st party Switch event.
@OldGamer999 this is what the industry is seeing now and it’s not just some of the studios MS bought and managed. Ubisoft games are not selling and they are going back to the drawing board on a lot of titles and even canceling some. Sony canceled many games and had a few tank. Gamers are locked into the top top selling games and we know what those are and everything else is gnawing at the bone for time and attention. I ain’t saying MS don’t make mistakes nor don’t the studios they bought. But gaming software needs a shake up. Cause if GTA 5 can keep this many players locked into a game or 2 per year, year in and year out. GTA 6 is about to sink many devs. Gamers just don’t have the time or money to play all these games and some of the games are good, decent or bad and it don’t seem to matter. COD Black OP’s 7 was in dev time before MS get’s to make it mark on that studio. MS is about to change a lot about COD going forward. Rumors are a reboot and new series, but that game was the last of what was kind of planned before bought. So i give them a little grace there. Even myself with all 3 consoles, i have bought less and less software pre year cause the games just don’t grab me in a way they should for that price and time invested. I’d rather play Gears and RDR over and over.
Has Blizzard like many other devs stepped on rakes lately? Sure they have, but Blizzard was and still is on my short short list of all time favorites. It’s Nintendo and Blizzard and Rockstar that has IP’s that still excite me like a teenager all over again. Sure they mess up at times. But their games still pull me into their worlds like very few teams can. I can’t wait to see what’s cooking.
@Fiendish-Beaver Brother I CAN NOT WAIT for E-DAY!
Same i got a PS4 and PS5 and i play it maybe 4-5 times a year when a exclusive comes out and to your point i know it’s not good vaule i just like to own tech. I do play my Switch 2 more than i thought i would. I am playing RDR on it now and Mario Galaxy. I like the feel and size of the 2 over the OG switch. Think that helps. But yep, Xbox day one whenever it comes out and it will be my main as well brother. Enjoy all the games you can cause when E-Day hits that will take up a lot of your time.
@Fiendish-Beaver i think the reason it’s quiet is it simply just isn’t time right now. They need to get these big games out. Enjoy some console sales success with GTA 6. Cause that will move some Xbox’s. Celebrate thier anniversary show etc etc. no sense in showing it to early. Now they have talked about it which i enjoy. There are many sites showing it raw commute power from what they are building and working with AMD on. So this is normal next gen leak stuff. Now if it were 2027 and we didn’t hear and see more I’d be a little more confused. But i do think we see it in a year or two pending the RAM issues. Not only in price but just inventory. It’s all gone at the moment. I want to just say cause we are old enough to remember OG Xbox. Let me just remind you of someting and see if it helps at all. It does and doesn’t for me. But it’s true and you know i like to keep it Honest. HAHA
Back when OG Xbox came out PS2 was selling like crazy. And what did fans and industry people and not what say? Xbox is dead, MS failed, Xbox is over. Then 360 came and it got quiet and lots and i mean here in America LOTS of PS fans went Xbox. Then Xbox one and we know the PS Xbox guys went back to PS and what started back up? Xbox is dead, Xbox is over. Then the Series consoles came out and it’s the same thing Xbox is dead. These people have been saying Xbox is dead my friend for 25 years. Minus the 360 and here we are in a few years time away from a Xbox that has windows and can play everything. I know MS steps on rakes from time to time. I get it. But they haven’t done the one thing i am sure some inside MS are upset by and thats leave the hardware business in mobile. Cause once you leave hardware like they did with phones you can’t get back in. I know the phones weren’t selling well. It would have taken a bold move for them to gain some users. But once you leave it’s over over. I don’t think internally they want to do that with gaming. Wait it out until all the younger gamers are ready for cloud.
One more thing and i tell you all the die, you aren’t dying anytime soon, I’ll pray for it. You are a good friend of mine on here. Always have been. Even when we disagree we are bouncing different views and ideas to one another. But while you are here you deserve to game and be happy with whatever tech you choose going forward. You have supported Xbox from the beginning like me. If going forward you choose not to. I wouldn’t blame you. I’d be happy you are here and healthy enough to game and still enjoy its offering. You ain’t going no where and either is Xbox hardware and im sticking to it. HAHA
@Fiendish-Beaver i see and understand your point. But Xbox is still making money. .they have plans to make their Hardware profitable. They have deals with OEM hardware makers in place it’s been rumored. They likely shift into their Laptop business. Surface don’t sell like HP, Dell and Asus. But MS still makes a premium first party offering. Seems that is the direction of this PC/Console Xbox. Time will tell. To your point of just buy a PS. That’s fine, players can do that. It won’t hurt MS in software sales and they will still sell consoles to players that want their ecosystem even tho we agree that number is smaller and smaller each gen. I’m stuck, i can’t switch to PS only cause that controller hurts my left thumb in 30 mins or even less. For me it’s an awful experience, take Steam for an example they make lots of money on software and sell hardware that doesn’t even sell Xbox numbers and they are coming out with more hardware. MS will do the same cause it’s another storefront competing with Steam and others. While MS will make money on every hardware device there is by selling it’s games. As of now that is all i can go off of. They are to far along to not release the next Xbox. Rumors even point to it being shown off at this yeats big anniversary show. Once they do that it’s coming. But i get your points and i know 100% you don’t want Xbox to leave the console space. But all i can say is for the next 10 years i don’t have any reason to think they will. By then is it cloud and PC? Maybe. But maybe they release another PC/Xbox console. Hard to look out that far and say.
@Fiendish-Beaver i will tell you what i tell them on the other site when.i hear all Xbox games are on PS why need a Xbox? The same reason when MS makes a PC/Xbox hybrid why would i need a PS? All to most of PS5 games are on Steam. The more PC grows and takes over 3rd party sales from console i think that is the bigger concern moving forward alongside growing console prices.
MS and Phil has made the statement they know Xbox has a lot of gamers that like the console and they are for sure making not 1 but 2 new hardware devices. We know that means Console and handheld but wait there’s more. With PC Xbox’s now OEM can step in and make even more Xbox’s. So all of a sudden there is more hardware coming from MS and it’s partners then ever in the history of Xbox. So i am not worried about hardware going away. What i have always said is MS and Sony will stop making consoles the day that the majority of players are playing and happy with cloud. Thats still some time away, but not as far as many think. Then us 25-35 million hardcore gamers will play on PC. Thats the future, not saying i fully love it and not saying consoles will be completely gone but PS7 if a thing will look more like this next Xbox coming up then PS5 and PS6. Cause that is the storefronts and ecosystems younger kids are going too.
MS knows they aren’t going to outsell PS worldwide and they don’t need to, they need their studios making money and profits. While letting other devs worry about how they make money. But those other devs are playing attention and we are selling a platform with around 35 million users getting games that once weren’t on the platform, Final fantasy, Hell divers 2, Death stranding and more to come. That tells me devs know every million or two of sales matter and thus the Xbox is more alive than many think it is. Money is coming in and we all know MS don’t close things that make money and yes even tho less sales than we’d all like to see for Series consoles that is the main driver of money for MS gaming. Look at Battlefield 6, in the first 10 days it sold 1.5 on PS5, 1.2 on Xbox and thats with 2.5x less units and then 3.3 on steam. Those show that Xbox users do buy games and devs will be there. I think with all this said if you still like Xbox and its ecosystem you have nothing to worry about for a long time. As cloud won’t fully replace the box and carry over your library anytime soon.
@Llamageddon 2026 is looking to be a great software year. Now if we can just get the RAM prices down and away from AI data centers so hardware don’t keep going up that would be nice. Games wise it seems like a loaded year. Yeah some people don’t like one or the other layout, some don’t care and use both. But i love that we have choices. Enjoy what you are playing and give me a shout anytime!!

Re: Bethesda Says Starfield Looks 'Amazing' With Nvidia's DLSS 5, But Don't Expect It On Xbox
Re: Talking Point: What Should Xbox Call Its 'Project Helix' Console?
@FishDude i never said it wasn’t a PC/Console hybrid. In fact that is what we have all known it will be. It will play your PC and XBOX games. The same way the Steam Machine will be a console/PC you hook up to your TV. It’s never not been known to be that and that’s what many of us are exciting for. Myself included!!
I don’t care what PS has cause it has something i don’t like to us and that is it’s controller. So it could have every game ever made on it but i rarely play mine cause i don’t enjoy the controller. They fix that to something I enjoy using and then i will reconsider.
Re: Talking Point: What Should Xbox Call Its 'Project Helix' Console?
@Banjo- i agree, and the refund for digital purchases on Nintendo and Sony is embarrassingly bad in year 2026. Banjo you know when Xbox does something stupid we are hear to say WTF. But there are post making fun of Xbox on post about nothing related to corporate mistakes and it turns into Xbox is Dead and there goes my library i am going to say something. For those that don’t want the next Xbox, that’s cool, don’t buy one. But stop with the phony claims that MS is out of hardware and not supporting your collection of Xbox games. That is simply not true.
Re: Talking Point: What Should Xbox Call Its 'Project Helix' Console?
@nomither6 the games and Ui, i played a insane amount of TitanFall, so much so that i wish i had waited longer to pick up my PS4. Cause i didn’t play it hardly at all in year one. There were things on the Ui for Xbox one that i really liked and really hated at first. PS has yet to have a Ui i think is good. I really like the design of both Xbox Ones, i know that won’t be a popular opinion but i liked it. I liked the PS4 as well that Gen.
Re: Talking Point: What Should Xbox Call Its 'Project Helix' Console?
@GeminiX53 thanks, it isn’t a bad name. For as much as i liked Xbox One and Xbox One X. The name was just so bad. I loved the hardware and controller way more than the other consoles of the time. But that name was a mistake and they need to make sure this name makes sense and has easy marketing tie in’s.
Re: Talking Point: What Should Xbox Call Its 'Project Helix' Console?
Re: Talking Point: What Should Xbox Call Its 'Project Helix' Console?
@Banjo- Just me or is this site now mostly upset Xbox fans that should go buy a PS5 and leave the chat? Anyhow
My idea’s i wanted to share with you friend.
1 Xbox Fusion
2 Xbox Surface
3 Xbox PC
Nothing fancy something easy and yet ties into the hybrid concept.
Re: Microsoft's 'This Is An Xbox' Post Taken Down As Fans Wonder If The Controversial Ad Is No More
Good idea in practice as we have more tech in today’s world to meet gamers in different places and platforms. But the marketing behind it and just the way it sent a message i think was wrong. Glad to see it retired and on to the console/PC hybrid messaging.
Re: Crimson Desert Has Three Different Performance Modes On Xbox Series X
@MaccaMUFC on Moores law is Dead, they have the leaked chips at around 20X ray tracing performance on Helix over the Series X. It will be a night and day difference. Both next gen consoles will use ray tracing to be the standout graphic bump. I am excited to see it. Wish Helix was this holiday season.
Re: Microsoft CEO On Xbox's Future: 'We'll Always Invest In Gaming'
@BacklogBrad The 'xbox is dead' crowd won't like this.
HAHA you beat me to it. I was going to say this. There will be videos on YouTube today with this interview spinning it into Xbox is Dead. A cat has 9 lives, a Xbox has 25 years of being dead and still alive.
Re: Xbox Head Doubles Down On The Importance Of Console, Says It's A 'Reference Experience'
Re: New Xbox Head Suggests Bringing Back The Blades Dashboard In First Social Media Posts
@BIG3 if she let us delete a game we tried and didn’t like but scored 5G on it and let us delete it from our list. I would send her three fifty to her banking account. I hate that I can’t control my achievements and get rid of games I didn’t even like.
Re: 'We Have Good Reasons To Believe In What's Ahead', Insists New Xbox Chief Content Officer
Re: New Xbox Boss Makes Official Statement As She Takes Over From Phil Spencer
Re: God Of War Creator Suggests Xbox Should Get Involved In Bluepoint Games Situation
@Zenszulu you are correct and thats why MS get’s roasted over it daily on the inter webs. I guess Sony didn’t want to be left out in making poor upper management decisions this generation. This isn’t a he did she did thing. They are both making big mistakes and throwing money away.
Re: Sony's Bluepoint Games Might Be Gone, But We'll Never Forget Their 'Impossible Port' For Xbox 360
Re: Sony's Bluepoint Games Might Be Gone, But We'll Never Forget Their 'Impossible Port' For Xbox 360
Re: God Of War Creator Suggests Xbox Should Get Involved In Bluepoint Games Situation
I mean i would be ok with this. But it wouldn’t hurt my feelings if they were on team Red, Nintendo. That’s super unlikely to happen of course. But i would be happy about it. But i do hope BP lives on.
Re: Sony's Bluepoint Games Might Be Gone, But We'll Never Forget Their 'Impossible Port' For Xbox 360
Re: Sony's Bluepoint Games Might Be Gone, But We'll Never Forget Their 'Impossible Port' For Xbox 360
@themightyant Yeah sadly that is true, as we know. But i am sure there were better idea’s than a live service God of War game that Sony handed them. That is just a plain out dumb idea. Still sucks to see BP gone.
Re: Sony's Bluepoint Games Might Be Gone, But We'll Never Forget Their 'Impossible Port' For Xbox 360
No?
Re: Poll: As Things Stand, Will You Be Buying GTA 6 On Xbox This November?
@johnedwin you mean like they did for Battlefield 6 and other titles? Yeah good call 🙄
The Top selling games are almost the same on both platforms. It’s just Xbox has a smaller marketshare and another way to pay to play. Otherwise game IP’s in the top 10 are the same on both platforms . GTA 6 will sell gangbusters on both.
Re: Poll: As Things Stand, Will You Be Buying GTA 6 On Xbox This November?
@datamonkey If it’s optimised for the pro I’ll get it there.
It would have to be really reduced as GTA is one of the few games that are CPU bound and the Pro has largely the same CPU as the Base PS5. Not saying they couldn’t reduce NPC’s and such but it won’t be the same likely as the CPU will bottleneck this game until PC and Next gen.
Re: Sony's Bluepoint Games Might Be Gone, But We'll Never Forget Their 'Impossible Port' For Xbox 360
Well on the bright side Sony still has plenty of studios to make Sad Dad games and never forget Naughty Dog is going to go as Woke as a Joke on their next game. So I’d say PS5 still has plenty left in the tank. Good thing they are delaying PS6 🙄
Re: Sony's Bluepoint Games Might Be Gone, But We'll Never Forget Their 'Impossible Port' For Xbox 360
Sad times.
Re: New Report On PS6 Delay Throws Next-Gen Timing Into Doubt
Re: Poll: As Things Stand, Will You Be Buying GTA 6 On Xbox This November?
I am more of a Red Dead fan, but it would be nice to see the tech used on GTA 6 as it will be carried over for RDR 3 or whatever they will call it. I just hope the rumor is true that RDR 2 Series X is still coming out this summer before GTA.6 marketing. Nate the Hate the most reliable leaker in the business say’s it’s real and still coming. My hopes aren’t high but i want it to be true. GTA 6 on Series X for me just not sure about launch.
Re: New Report On PS6 Delay Throws Next-Gen Timing Into Doubt
Re: New Report On PS6 Delay Throws Next-Gen Timing Into Doubt
Re: New Report On PS6 Delay Throws Next-Gen Timing Into Doubt
Re: New Report On PS6 Delay Throws Next-Gen Timing Into Doubt
@fatpunkslim @Fiendish-Beaver i know you aren’t trolling buddy, we go way back. But yes what FatPunk and myself are saying is very true. You wouldn’t out spec the PS6 to be a cloud only based machine. The Xbox ROG is a download from a store front. Trust and me and Fat on this one. Now that doesn’t mean you will or won’t like the next Xbox. But you will buy and download games to it.
Re: New Report On PS6 Delay Throws Next-Gen Timing Into Doubt
@Fiendish-Beaver that would never happen. Cause they are building it with power to play it locally. Plus they don’t need hardware to stream games. Cloud streaming is a thing now on an App via your TV. You don’t need hardware for that.
Re: New Report On PS6 Delay Throws Next-Gen Timing Into Doubt
@fatpunkslim you wouldn’t even need any specs for streaming it would just be an app on your TV or handheld as the cloud server blades and internet is your horsepower. The type of console MS is building here is raw power. It’s going to be desktop type power just under your TV with console like experience. Which sounds great truthfully. A console that is no longer locked down. You’d think more players would be welcoming that. Plus if the rumor holds true of no online paywall. This is a win in my book.
Re: New Report On PS6 Delay Throws Next-Gen Timing Into Doubt
@Fiendish-Beaver play anywhere is just a license of owning the game. So you can legally play it on other devices. It won’t be streaming. That would kill the whole idea. The idea is maybe you have a beefy PC to play games on at home but when you are on the go you want to be able to play on a handheld. Now you can and it’s not streaming it. That would cause more mess and make players not want it. If gamers want to stream games there is cloud gaming for that.
Re: New Report On PS6 Delay Throws Next-Gen Timing Into Doubt
@Fiendish-Beaver the next Xbox will not be streaming games. Why put in all that power and SOC’s if it’s a cloud streaming device? It’s going to be a local hardware device. Even Phil said on the Xbox handheld he knew gamers didn’t want to stream and have the games locally on the device. So you can for sure take that worry aside. You don’t build a $1000 plus device with RDNA 5 with 30-40 GB of ram to stream.
Re: Castlevania: Belmont's Curse Confirmed For Xbox, And Konami Says It Marks A New 'Beginning'
Re: Xbox Is Reportedly Releasing A Brand-New Controller Revision In 2026
@nomither6 thanks my friend. You do as well and you know I love it when you call the dual sense a fatty over on the other website. HHAHA makes me laugh every time.
Re: Valve Admits Its New Console Plans Have Been Affected By Component Crisis
ME: no one can make a controller more uncomfortable than Sony
Steam: Hold my Beer!
Hard pass based on low VRAM and controller design that is barely better than the first attempt. Which was so bad I laughed when I held it that people actually paid for it to use.
Re: Xbox Is Reportedly Releasing A Brand-New Controller Revision In 2026
@nomither6 to your point and i agree.
Re: Xbox Is Reportedly Releasing A Brand-New Controller Revision In 2026
@Cakefish if you don’t know me well on here, i will just say i am a controller snob. 😊
Re: Three Xbox Games Dated For Nintendo Switch 2, Starfield Also Rumoured For PS5 In April
Re: Three Xbox Games Dated For Nintendo Switch 2, Starfield Also Rumoured For PS5 In April
Re: Three Xbox Games Dated For Nintendo Switch 2, Starfield Also Rumoured For PS5 In April
Re: Obsidian Says Two Of Its 2025 Titles Didn't Meet Sales Targets, Vows To Learn For The Future
Re: Xbox's Blizzard Team Announces Multiple Showcases Laying Out The Company's Future
Re: Poll: How Would You Grade 2026's Xbox Developer Direct?
Re: Poll: How Would You Grade 2026's Xbox Developer Direct?
HAHA
Re: Poll: How Would You Grade 2026's Xbox Developer Direct?
Re: Poll: How Would You Grade 2026's Xbox Developer Direct?
