A game this size will have updates coming to it for years to come. But overall a great first impression and again this is the difference of MS owning Zenimax vs where they were financially under the previous ownership. Phil Spencer is cooking and MS is making money while Sony is canceling games MS is making cash on every platform. What’s the old saying the rich get richer, this is an example of it. Very very happy with Team Green this year so far and we aren’t even to the June Showcase yet.
@Fiendish-Beaver @Titntin i guess i am lucky in the sense i never had any wireless connection issues on any of the brands controllers. IGN which is a more PS fan focused website ran a poll before the launch of the this gen on offset sticks vs inline sticks and off set sticks won. On some sites the most often requested thing for Sony to do is make offset sticks. Dual sense has loads of pages out there of people sayings its to big and hurts their thumbs. For me for the little i do play on PS, i did noticed when playing FF16 on dual sense my left thumb was starting to hurt. There’s a reason for that, since the NiES and Sega master system, the dpad has been on the upper left hand side which at that time was main way to control your movement. It was natural for your thumb to be on the upper left hand side. PS1 controller is a super Nes controller design and not Sony’s, so Sony didn’t want to resign a new controller and the internals had no room to add analog sticks so they put them in the empty space of the chassis which was the bottom, which has your thumb placement for the first time alongside the N64 in the wrong spot. A lot of players got used to it. But there was a reason the 360 controller was way more preferred by players than the cheap featureless Six Axis controller. On PC where players have a choice, off set thumbsticks again are the main played. When your thumb is that low reaching the top of the controller is more of a stretch of your fingers. I hate it for shooters, i have not bought a shooter for PS in over 3 console generations but can use it for their single player games. I think Sony did mostly a neat job which the Dual sense minus the USLESS touchpad. That is so much wasted space on the controller for something that has maybe 0.01% use in a game minus a big button. I know it’s suppose to be a mouse like cursor but it’s never used that way and makes the controller wider than need be. I like the haptic rumble some and yes Tin i agree with you on the lower settings for that, feels better and did give me a little more battery life. Closer to 10 vs the near 40 on the switch Pro and Xbox. I will chill out on this topic now as i am a controller NERD. Again i think it’s my favorite part of a console or PC. It’s the device that connects you to the worlds created. I am really passionate about which one i have to use. But there is some science and logic behind having the directional pad to the top left. Imagine a Sega Genesis controller with the D-pad on the bottom? Like Tin said it’s all preference unless you ask a carpal tunnel doctor. Yes believe it or not i have read a doctors report online that said the PS controller was harder on your thumb and hand muscles. Cause again even if you don’t realize it you are stretching your thumb much further to go right on the pad than you are when it’s on the top. Do that little test when you next pick them up. I am truly just passionate about controllers and have been since i was a little kid. For the record i played 90% on my Super Nes cause i like the controller better than my Genesis. It would take all 5 to match the Xbox’s battery Life. Sorry i had to take that one Titntin. Ok for what i really wanted to say. I collect controllers, Controllers are the most exciting part of a new console generation for me. I am of the mindset that the controller is the most important part of gaming. I have followed Xbox’s controller plans very closely as the Xbox has my favorite controller layout in gaming history and it’s not even close. So much so that if i ever liked a PS controller i might not even be with Xbox outside of Gears of war. However Sony’s stick position and bad ergonomic controls has me rarely play on PS3-PS5.
Xbox’s controller plans have all been moved to next gen. In Europe they passed a rule controllers must have removeable and replaceable batteries. So look for Xbox and Sony controllers to change in the future. Tho it has been said MS will have a internal and swappable battery, auto connect to cloud, Haptics rumble, quieter buttons, tho i think people miss that the noise the Xbox controller makes isn’t by accident, it was meant to be like a mechanical keyboard and mouse click sounds on the shoulder buttons. Tho players never knew that and thought it to be loud and cheap so MS is changing it. Even tho people spend $400 dollars on keyboards that sound the same if not louder. Elite 3 has had a few MS surveys sent out to players asking different questions and feature requests like RGB lighting and the such. So it seems like Elite 3 is still years off. Making the purchase of the Doom Elite 2 pad safe Beaver. Whichever controller works best for the individual player is the best one of course and a reason they likely play the console. Let’s hope stick drift get’s fixed for next gen for all console players. 😀
@Fiendish-Beaver i don’t say this lightly, you have one of best Gears of War collections out there that i know of. You got me beat even and Gears of War is my favorite IP in gaming and it’s really not even close, Only Red Dead Redemption makes me Half as excited as a Gears announcement. I will be playing E-Day PVP for 4-5 years just about every day. I did that with Gears 5 PvP which i just got back into last month and already put another 50 hours on top of my 2500 hours. I will buy everything i can for E-Day as i know you will too. Can’t wait for it. Keep on collecting my friend. Don’t forget to mention you have a lancer LOL
Only on Chapter 7 but i really like the game. It’s basic in all the right ways but stays in its lane and tells a cool story. I played it on Gamepass but will buy it and shoot for the 100% completion. Really really neat game and this is a studio that i think Xbox needed more than it appeared to me.
@Fiendish-Beaver Elite 3 seems to be held off until Next Gen. been no rumors on it in a long long time. I think the Elite 3 and updated standard controller all come in 2027 or after with the new console. So I’d say you are safe. These look nice but i am saving my money for the Gears of War controller and Wrap if they happen and they should.
I can’t see myself playing this and that’s saying something cause shooter games are my thing. I try to give them all a chance and i will try this. But nothing screams special and must play to me. Once Gears E-Day comes out it will take a near perfect shooter to get me off PVP Gears.
@Ricky-Spanish Yeah for sure, it’s a little different with the welcome screen on PS5, but i love the avatars on Xbox compared to PS’s. Overall both UI’s need some work for next gen but i like them both, however Xbox has the quicker Ui, less button presses.
I like on PS5 that you can easily take a screenshot and use it as the welcome screen background. I did that with RDR2. It looks great. Could care less that it don’t move.
@Millionski yeah i hear what you are saying for sure. They have this odd pricing that some are $70 and others are $80. It just seems odd. I just assumed they would do $70 for all and call it a day. But like you said throw in the fact Nintendo games don’t go on sale very often and when they do it’s not all that much. That will make it tough on some family’s. I could see Switch 1 continuing to sell well for a while.i still want one, and will likely buy it when it’s in stock. But the software is a little out of touch on pricing.
@Kaloudz you are thinking correctly buddy. This was a huge 360 title in the early beginning. Gosh I loved the 360. Number 1 console of all time for me. I even played my Xbox OG more than PS2. Even tho PS2 had a way bigger catalog of games. I was way more into the Xbox than PS2 and for those that are confused as to what the next Xbox might look like, the OG was a PC in a box. Take care my friend, i always like to comment on your posts when i can, even if they don’t make sense to the topic. Haha cause we share the same ideas on the brand and we have fun with it. 😀
@Banjo- they are for sure throwing Japan a bone on this one. Which Japan has buttered the bread for Nintendo with the Switch. Undercuts Sony, but still i hear what you are saying. Nintendo could find themselves selling a ton of switch 1’s due to price and thats a good spot for them to be in. Plus it will for sure make sure switch outsells PS2. I think for a little while Switch 2 will be a hard sell for kids at that price
The Switch 2 is priced right in my opinion. Sure at $399 it would have been a steal and many more would have been happy. But as it is it is fine. But $80 for Mario Kart and $90 digital is the issue i see with all this. Mario Kart is crazy fun, one of my favorite Nintendo Ip’s if not my favorite. But it is in no way shape or form a more complex code and time investment as big AAA games that are less money. So this was a hike just cause we can not to offset cost. Speaking of cost, sure Nintendo has came into the 4K world of video games, so i was more than ok and truthfully expected to see $70 for all their games. But $80 and $90 is just way off. That said i make enough money to grab them and likely will. But it’s more than I’d like to pay and many others will likely stay on Switch 1 even longer.

I am back into Borderlands. Haven’t played it since 360. So i hope the Pandora Box collection get’s a heavy discount. Playing Borderlands 3 now on GP. Great game so far. But it crashes a lot. I am maybe 6 hours in and 3 crashes already. It’s a known issue from last year and still no fix from Gearbox. Otherwise loving it.
I can’t wait for the Gears of War E-Day background. That will be on my screen forever. These are ok, i am looking forward to playing both South of Midnight and TowerBorne.
For me the words missing out and From Soft ain’t a thing. Those games run like trash no matter how much power you throw them. They still can’t optimize games this gen or last. They just ain’t my thing, Much how i say Fortnite ruined gaming in many ways and for sure genres, From Soft popularity is a close second for me.

I hear what y’all are saying and you are more than entitled to have your thoughts and opinions. But i will be there day 1 for Switch 2. A lot of work went into this system over the Switch. I am loving what they shown. Honestly if i could only have 1 console it would be Switch 2 and PC. Nintendo games are so fun that the smiles they bring to me and others playing with me is money well spent. But i understand everyone’s pockets are different and again i hear what some of you are saying. I was hoping the PS5 Pro was going to be $600 and the Switch 2 $400.
@Ken_Kaniff that was my thought as well. The Switch 1 showed elder scrolls with the controllers. I’m guessing of course. But would be cool.
I for sure want to pick up a Switch 2 on launch day if i can pre order fast enough. A more powerful Switch is all i need from Nintendo, Gimmicks not necessary!
@TheGameThrifter insert WIN32 and take away X86 which is what Xbox is doing and no 3rd party games are missing cause they are already made. It’s called PC software. Hence the direction of the next Xbox.
I don’t like sticks that aren’t concave. So this is a no for me. I put up with it on Nintendo and PS. But for Xbox since first party controllers have it. I stick to those or elites. That small detail makes a big difference for me. My thumbs never slip off. Convex is just slippery and don’t feel that great to me.
@Residentsteven i agree, as much as i love and prefer Xbox to my PS. I do like the PS App on iPhone way better than the Xbox one. This is an area MS needs to get better in if they are in fact competing with Steam on the PC and Hybrid Console. They need to get thier Ui, Store fronts, apps etc all much more streamlined and clean to get users to want to be there. Cause Steam is very clean and easy to use. Xbox on PC is a cluttered mess.
It’s the only blemish on this controllers resume. Otherwise it is by far the best of the best in my opinion. I am hoping on Elite 3 they crank the quality control up to 11. If so they will have a monster controller on hand and i will get one. At the moment while i wait i am just using the Series X basic controller and love it. I had 2 stick drifts on those in almost 5 years but i play on them every day. Now i have had one stick drift and a broken D-Pad on my PS5 Dual Sense and i barely use it. I only play a few games on that box.

The thing that gets me is over on Push Square i see them all say i will just buy so and so game when it’s $20 dollar or used and then turn around and say GP makes dev’s no money. So how did your $20 bucks or even worse used copy do anything for the dev. Plus you had to wait that long to play it. GP players are eating on day 1 and giving money every month for MS to cut checks. It makes no sense how if you saying someting really stupid and out of pocket but it’s about Xbox everyone will go along with it. But God forbid i go on there and say some thing truthful about PS and they go banana’s and start name calling and whatever lame tactic to avoid the truth they use. Thats why i say what i say and do what i do cause the Media isn’t telling the truth and the PS sites act like cancelling 12 live service games and Concord is swept under the rug cause well Sony sold 75 million PS5’s. Who cares? I bought a PS5 and am selling it for a Switch 2 when it comes out cause there is no games on it i want to play. About time they get rolling you are look at PS6 or Steam on Xbox. You can’t cancel 12 games and all of a sudden have a roadmap of killer ip’s coming out a year or 2 later. I am just ranting now but this is why i love Pure Xbox and of course yourself and others on here. That other website is just logically messed up. All they do is talk about Xbox and how it’s going out of business or how well Sony is selling. BOOORING and not even true about Xbox.

I can tell you where some of it comes from. A lot of people are mad Xbox won’t go away. They want that day for when the news hits that MS is pulling the plug on Xbox hardware. So they can all come out and say we told you so, and just trash all over the fans of a plastic box. Cause they are that petty and messed up. It means that much to them to be right and shove it in the faces. That isn’t console wars that is mental health issues. They thought for sure they were all going to get the last laugh as MS was bringing Xbox games to PS. So all next gen they just needed a PS6 and they could play all the games. When the answer to that was right in front of them. Phil said he wanted other store fronts on an open platform. Right there say’s Steam and Epic allowing PS games on your windows Xbox hybrid. They never seen it and it was there all along. Now they are really upset on social media and YouTube. Not cause more gamers have more choice, and can play more games but because they lost their haha we got someting on you Xbox guys. This Asus deal with Xbox is the first look into how this next next console will work. That Xbox branded OEM Asus handheld will be able to play Steam and PS5 games. Now just wait until Xbox partners with Alienware and Razer and Asus to make a powerful Xbox hybrid PC that yes might cost a lot but will crush the PS6 in power. They ain’t going to be happy to know we can play PS games on a more powerful box, cause Xbox is using windows and is a PC with console ease of use. Sit back and watch, cause i have my eyes all over the news of this next Xbox strategy and it’s starting to look like a dream machine. The best of PC with the ease of use Xbox console we know and love.

Yeah you can’t go wrong with those MS recharge kits. I have been using them since the 360 and Xbox One days. Never did me wrong. Saves me money and time. If you charge it from the console it charges fully in like 30 mins or so. Then it last for 30-40 hours. Unlike the Dual sense which barely gets 10.
@donv2135 I honestly hope dvd and physical media is making a comeback. I don’t think only digital is the smartest thing for the consumer. Sure digital has its perks and thats why i use it. But i ain’t sure i trust it fully and for movies i would perfer to have a disc truth told. But i am just not sure we will see PC, Xbox and maybe at some point PlayStation ever supporting physical as gamers are largely all digital these days. Nintendo likely sticks with physical for a while tho. Time will time. But rumors are not many brands even make disc drives any more. Which makes sense, they aren’t in vehicles no more, no laptops have them anymore and consoles are slowly phasing them out. Once Sony, LG and Panasonic quit making them it’s all digital then. I still think people should have a choice personally.
I use the MS branded play and charge kit. Get’s 30-40 hours per charge and takes no time to fully charge it. They last me around 3 years and i game on Xbox daily. So they get used often. Luckily it sounds like the next Xbox will have a more built in solution like the Elite Series. However correct me if i am wrong i think the UK government is requesting all batteries have to be removable going forward. Again take that with a pinch of salt. Think i read that a year ago. Not sure if it’s held up or not.
@donv2135 it’s already niche now. Some games not even launching physical copies. Most major retailers barely carry copies. So once they fully stop like they did with movies and music it’s over. Which again i am not saying i am for or against. I don’t use physical media but for those that do it does suck that it is largely dead. Nintendo still has a healthy physical media spilt, but Xbox and PS are above 80% pushing 90% digitally. The market won’t spend money on less than 10% of the player base.
It’s all digital going forward. I never used my Series X disc drive not once. I almost sold my Series X and bought the White digital one. I mean it will suck for those that like physical media. But i have no need for it. It lends so much more than just convenience now.
Ubisoft should just downsize and fours on the few IP’s they have that can make money if made well. Sure people will loose their jobs, but some of them will be picked up at other places. New studios open all the time. But Ubisoft don’t need to be this big when most of their titles just aren’t major performers. Plus once GTA 6 and other titles come out, gamers will be on GTA, COD, FIFA MADDEN and all the other games that month in month out domaint the sales charts. Ubisoft don’t have one of those games. Keep a hand full of IP, focus on making them good and launch them in open windows when other big games aren’t coming out would be my plan of building it back.
@Fishticon the formula that worked in 2013 is still selling today and making boat loads of money. GTA 5 is still selling better than most next gen games, it for sure is being played more than most games. Going to need more info as to why this will be a dud, as it will likely break all records in 24 hours of all media content ever. GTA is worth more than some countries. Sorry but your take on this one has little to stand on. COD comes out every year mostly the same and makes a billion dollars in a few days. GTA fans have been waiting on this for a decade. They will show out!
@LogicStrikesAgain i am not sure if all with go to Steam as many casual players will likely use the MS store they already know. Maybe MS gives a good incentive to use its store over Steam. These are the things i still can’t get my head around as well. But having the options is a BIG win for gamers as a closed ecosystem console experience for years has gotten to a point of being bad for the consumers.
I could never skip a Xbox console generation cause the Xbox controller for me dog walks the PS controller. Those thumb sticks on PS for shooters are just awful.

Yes they will make 70% on steam on 1st party titles plus they will have GP Subs, of course they will still have their own store like they do now along with Steam and maybe even Epic giving players choice. Now i think more people would prefer Steam, so yes MS losses some sales on its own store, however it offset’s some of that by making money off PS and Switch stores. Is that enough? I don’t know cause this thing has lots of curveballs as to what it looks like and how they go about it. But PC is about choice and it looks like they want to give players those options on this device. Phil said it in an interview he would like Steam and other store fronts alongside Xbox store fronts. There is a lot to learn here still. But making money on 2 other platforms is something alongside owning windows that Sony and Nintendo can not do. After all this console looks to be trying to take advantage of it’s strengths and not just making a direct console that get’s overlooked by PS consoles. I will say this, this next Xbox is a console reveal that i will be most looking forward to learning about maybe more than any other one in the history of consoles as it has a lot to unpack.

@dskatter now Xbox Aside, why wouldn’t Sony port games to the Switch 2? They will have a large player base and many of the PS4 titles would run easily on Switch 2. They will crush the PS in Japan. Seems like a cost benefit for porting a title like say ratchet and clank PS4, yes?
@dskatter the PC market is way larger than the Xbox and PS market combined. We are seeing that on the sales charts. Monster hunter wilds just sold more there then PS and Xbox combined. But again 3 million sales on a platform with 30 plus million user base at $50-$70 a copy is good money. Xbox gamers myself included still buy lot’s of games. I mean i don’t care if Sony does it or not, that’s their bottom line to worry about not mine. But this notion of 30 plus players is something to ignore just don’t make any sense. GTA 6 is about to make a bucket load of cash on Xbox, it ain’t going to GP, so why not Spider-Man?
I think many on here should be reminded without HD2 going to PC the game would have been a tiny title for that year and largely not even talked about now. PC carried this title and largely still does. Much like the new Monster Hunter, which sold more on PC than the other platforms combined. Yet on the other website you have people saying Xbox and PC player don’t buy games.
@ButterySmooth30FPS say spider man 1 came over to Xbox to make money to support spider man 3 development. That is smart business. 34 pushing 35 million Xbox’s in the world, easily sells 3 million copies on Xbox. At let’s say $50-$60 dollars. You do the math on how much that is vs porting fee’s. Sony is a stubborn company, hence they no longer sell as many products as they did and are like 6th in TV sales today. Which again is fine, i own a PS but to say it wouldn’t make sense for them is foolish.
@dskatter if Sony needs PC money they need Xbox money. The company isn’t wealthy, they spend a ton on games that don’t make loads back.not saying they ain’t making money on PS, of course they are but the chase they have been on for live service games should show just how much money they don’t have to leave on the table.
Giving this one a go. I love am from the south, love the south and really like this games art direction. Can’t say if it will be good or not. But GP day 1 for sure, if i like it, i will buy it. Really hoping it surprises me in the gameplay compartment. But graphics and southern lore all look really good.

@TheGameThrifter yeah i am with you that i would have liked to see them earn customers back with great exclusive games. The problem is no one is leaving thier digital PS consoles behind to jump to Xbox, or their friends list etc etc. sure 2021 seemed like a good year cause the people that wanted Xbox’s didn’t have them yet. But once they hit over 25 million in sales it has come to a crawl in hardware sales. Showing MS they can’t grow the install base high enough to support exclusive titles. Plus they been supporting PC for a long time now. So they are going to blend that business some here and make development easier on their teams. Cause now all MS studio teams have to do is make a game for windows PC in mind and it run’s across all platforms outside of Switch and PS and yes i do expect the next Xbox to be around $700-$800 as it will be a mid range PC. So Sales will shrink even more. It’s all sad to me. I’ve been with Xbox since OG and it’s always been my favorite place to game. But it’s all going to change hardware wise next gen with them not meeting enough sales. I see and understand your thoughts and concerns, i have mine as well. Until we know more this is the best we can do is follow the bread crumb of info on the software and hardware and see what happens.
@Coletrain we are so close to the same person, haha! I am an accountant for local government. So i too do finance. Never got to much in the tech side of work. Love to study it in my free time and of course am 12/10 crazy for video games.
I owned all 5 PS consoles and from PS3-PS5 they have been only a exclusive machine for me cause largely i dislike all 3 controllers, the six axis on launch which i bought was trash, worst controller I’ve ever used. Dual shock 4 on PS4 was sort of ok. Useable but not my lay out, Dual sense on PS5 is a little to big and wide and has those awful thumb stick placement so it’s largely just sitting around until they get something i have to play on it. So to say i have hated exclusives isn’t a new thing for me just because MS is bringing its games to all platforms in some fan boy plastic war.
However i get the draw of them and am ok with platforms using them to lure in customers, hence i still buy the box even tho months go by without me turning it on for long. I just want Xbox to be around until i am not. I love it that much as a brand and it makes me mad they gave back all the work 360 did. I always said nothing would top my joy than i had with Super Nes, my first ever console i got for Christmas. Had a ton of games on it and crushed every score on Super Punch Out ever recorded. Still play it today on Switch. Then came along 360 and Gears of War, my friends all moved away, got married, had kids etc etc, Xbox live on that for what we called Friday night Gears and Beers became my first time in gaming history. I am a HUGE Gears of War fan, 1-3 of course. E-day being my most wanted game since RDR2. There it is my friend. Thats my love for Xbox, Gears and Beers. It changed me and secondary and maybe more importantly the controller. Every Xbox controller after the Duke has been my favorite of the generation. Series X fit’s me like a glove. I am so fast on it when i play on PS i feel like my hands grew 30 years in time i am so slow. HAHA

There’s a reason for that, since the NiES and Sega master system, the dpad has been on the upper left hand side which at that time was main way to control your movement. It was natural for your thumb to be on the upper left hand side. PS1 controller is a super Nes controller design and not Sony’s, so Sony didn’t want to resign a new controller and the internals had no room to add analog sticks so they put them in the empty space of the chassis which was the bottom, which has your thumb placement for the first time alongside the N64 in the wrong spot. A lot of players got used to it. But there was a reason the 360 controller was way more preferred by players than the cheap featureless Six Axis controller. On PC where players have a choice, off set thumbsticks again are the main played. When your thumb is that low reaching the top of the controller is more of a stretch of your fingers. I hate it for shooters, i have not bought a shooter for PS in over 3 console generations but can use it for their single player games. I think Sony did mostly a neat job which the Dual sense minus the USLESS touchpad. That is so much wasted space on the controller for something that has maybe 0.01% use in a game minus a big button. I know it’s suppose to be a mouse like cursor but it’s never used that way and makes the controller wider than need be. I like the haptic rumble some and yes Tin i agree with you on the lower settings for that, feels better and did give me a little more battery life. Closer to 10 vs the near 40 on the switch Pro and Xbox. I will chill out on this topic now as i am a controller NERD. Again i think it’s my favorite part of a console or PC. It’s the device that connects you to the worlds created. I am really passionate about which one i have to use. But there is some science and logic behind having the directional pad to the top left. Imagine a Sega Genesis controller with the D-pad on the bottom? Like Tin said it’s all preference unless you ask a carpal tunnel doctor. Yes believe it or not i have read a doctors report online that said the PS controller was harder on your thumb and hand muscles. Cause again even if you don’t realize it you are stretching your thumb much further to go right on the pad than you are when it’s on the top. Do that little test when you next pick them up. You can see the results in your left thumb! Thanks to you both for taking on my controller geek talk. I am not here to offend or be a fanboy. I am truly just passionate about controllers and have been since i was a little kid. For the record i played 90% on my Super Nes cause i like the controller better than my Genesis. It would take all 5 to match the Xbox’s battery Life. Sorry i had to take that one Titntin. Ok for what i really wanted to say. I collect controllers, Controllers are the most exciting part of a new console generation for me. I am of the mindset that the controller is the most important part of gaming. I have followed Xbox’s controller plans very closely as the Xbox has my favorite controller layout in gaming history and it’s not even close. So much so that if i ever liked a PS controller i might not even be with Xbox outside of Gears of war. However Sony’s stick position and bad ergonomic controls has me rarely play on PS3-PS5.
Xbox’s controller plans have all been moved to next gen. In Europe they passed a rule controllers must have removeable and replaceable batteries. So look for Xbox and Sony controllers to change in the future. Tho it has been said MS will have a internal and swappable battery, auto connect to cloud, Haptics rumble, quieter buttons, tho i think people miss that the noise the Xbox controller makes isn’t by accident, it was meant to be like a mechanical keyboard and mouse click sounds on the shoulder buttons. Tho players never knew that and thought it to be loud and cheap so MS is changing it. Even tho people spend $400 dollars on keyboards that sound the same if not louder. Elite 3 has had a few MS surveys sent out to players asking different questions and feature requests like RGB lighting and the such. So it seems like Elite 3 is still years off. Making the purchase of the Doom Elite 2 pad safe Beaver. Whichever controller works best for the individual player is the best one of course and a reason they likely play the console. Let’s hope stick drift get’s fixed for next gen for all console players. 😀

@Fiendish-Beaver i don’t say this lightly, you have one of best Gears of War collections out there that i know of. You got me beat even and Gears of War is my favorite IP in gaming and it’s really not even close, Only Red Dead Redemption makes me Half as excited as a Gears announcement. I will be playing E-Day PVP for 4-5 years just about every day. I did that with Gears 5 PvP which i just got back into last month and already put another 50 hours on top of my 2500 hours. I will buy everything i can for E-Day as i know you will too. Can’t wait for it. Keep on collecting my friend. Don’t forget to mention you have a lancer LOL

Only on Chapter 7 but i really like the game. It’s basic in all the right ways but stays in its lane and tells a cool story. I played it on Gamepass but will buy it and shoot for the 100% completion. Really really neat game and this is a studio that i think Xbox needed more than it appeared to me.

@Fiendish-Beaver Elite 3 seems to be held off until Next Gen. been no rumors on it in a long long time. I think the Elite 3 and updated standard controller all come in 2027 or after with the new console. So I’d say you are safe. These look nice but i am saving my money for the Gears of War controller and Wrap if they happen and they should.

@Millionski yeah i hear what you are saying for sure. They have this odd pricing that some are $70 and others are $80. It just seems odd. I just assumed they would do $70 for all and call it a day. But like you said throw in the fact Nintendo games don’t go on sale very often and when they do it’s not all that much. That will make it tough on some family’s. I could see Switch 1 continuing to sell well for a while.i still want one, and will likely buy it when it’s in stock. But the software is a little out of touch on pricing.

@Kaloudz you are thinking correctly buddy. This was a huge 360 title in the early beginning. Gosh I loved the 360. Number 1 console of all time for me. I even played my Xbox OG more than PS2. Even tho PS2 had a way bigger catalog of games. I was way more into the Xbox than PS2 and for those that are confused as to what the next Xbox might look like, the OG was a PC in a box. Take care my friend, i always like to comment on your posts when i can, even if they don’t make sense to the topic. Haha cause we share the same ideas on the brand and we have fun with it. 😀

@Banjo- they are for sure throwing Japan a bone on this one. Which Japan has buttered the bread for Nintendo with the Switch. Undercuts Sony, but still i hear what you are saying. Nintendo could find themselves selling a ton of switch 1’s due to price and thats a good spot for them to be in. Plus it will for sure make sure switch outsells PS2. I think for a little while Switch 2 will be a hard sell for kids at that price

The Switch 2 is priced right in my opinion. Sure at $399 it would have been a steal and many more would have been happy. But as it is it is fine. But $80 for Mario Kart and $90 digital is the issue i see with all this. Mario Kart is crazy fun, one of my favorite Nintendo Ip’s if not my favorite. But it is in no way shape or form a more complex code and time investment as big AAA games that are less money. So this was a hike just cause we can not to offset cost. Speaking of cost, sure Nintendo has came into the 4K world of video games, so i was more than ok and truthfully expected to see $70 for all their games. But $80 and $90 is just way off. That said i make enough money to grab them and likely will. But it’s more than I’d like to pay and many others will likely stay on Switch 1 even longer.

I am back into Borderlands. Haven’t played it since 360. So i hope the Pandora Box collection get’s a heavy discount. Playing Borderlands 3 now on GP. Great game so far. But it crashes a lot. I am maybe 6 hours in and 3 crashes already. It’s a known issue from last year and still no fix from Gearbox. Otherwise loving it.

I don’t like sticks that aren’t concave. So this is a no for me. I put up with it on Nintendo and PS. But for Xbox since first party controllers have it. I stick to those or elites. That small detail makes a big difference for me. My thumbs never slip off. Convex is just slippery and don’t feel that great to me.

@Residentsteven i agree, as much as i love and prefer Xbox to my PS. I do like the PS App on iPhone way better than the Xbox one. This is an area MS needs to get better in if they are in fact competing with Steam on the PC and Hybrid Console. They need to get thier Ui, Store fronts, apps etc all much more streamlined and clean to get users to want to be there. Cause Steam is very clean and easy to use. Xbox on PC is a cluttered mess.

It’s the only blemish on this controllers resume. Otherwise it is by far the best of the best in my opinion. I am hoping on Elite 3 they crank the quality control up to 11. If so they will have a monster controller on hand and i will get one. At the moment while i wait i am just using the Series X basic controller and love it. I had 2 stick drifts on those in almost 5 years but i play on them every day. Now i have had one stick drift and a broken D-Pad on my PS5 Dual Sense and i barely use it. I only play a few games on that box.

The thing that gets me is over on Push Square i see them all say i will just buy so and so game when it’s $20 dollar or used and then turn around and say GP makes dev’s no money. So how did your $20 bucks or even worse used copy do anything for the dev. Plus you had to wait that long to play it. GP players are eating on day 1 and giving money every month for MS to cut checks. It makes no sense how if you saying someting really stupid and out of pocket but it’s about Xbox everyone will go along with it. But God forbid i go on there and say some thing truthful about PS and they go banana’s and start name calling and whatever lame tactic to avoid the truth they use. Thats why i say what i say and do what i do cause the Media isn’t telling the truth and the PS sites act like cancelling 12 live service games and Concord is swept under the rug cause well Sony sold 75 million PS5’s. Who cares? I bought a PS5 and am selling it for a Switch 2 when it comes out cause there is no games on it i want to play. About time they get rolling you are look at PS6 or Steam on Xbox. You can’t cancel 12 games and all of a sudden have a roadmap of killer ip’s coming out a year or 2 later. I am just ranting now but this is why i love Pure Xbox and of course yourself and others on here. That other website is just logically messed up. I can tell you where some of it comes from. A lot of people are mad Xbox won’t go away. They want that day for when the news hits that MS is pulling the plug on Xbox hardware. So they can all come out and say we told you so, and just trash all over the fans of a plastic box. Cause they are that petty and messed up. It means that much to them to be right and shove it in the faces. That isn’t console wars that is mental health issues. They thought for sure they were all going to get the last laugh as MS was bringing Xbox games to PS. So all next gen they just needed a PS6 and they could play all the games. When the answer to that was right in front of them. Phil said he wanted other store fronts on an open platform. Right there say’s Steam and Epic allowing PS games on your windows Xbox hybrid. They never seen it and it was there all along. Now they are really upset on social media and YouTube. Not cause more gamers have more choice, and can play more games but because they lost their haha we got someting on you Xbox guys. This Asus deal with Xbox is the first look into how this next next console will work. That Xbox branded OEM Asus handheld will be able to play Steam and PS5 games. Now just wait until Xbox partners with Alienware and Razer and Asus to make a powerful Xbox hybrid PC that yes might cost a lot but will crush the PS6 in power. They ain’t going to be happy to know we can play PS games on a more powerful box, cause Xbox is using windows and is a PC with console ease of use. Sit back and watch, cause i have my eyes all over the news of this next Xbox strategy and it’s starting to look like a dream machine. The best of PC with the ease of use Xbox console we know and love.

Yeah you can’t go wrong with those MS recharge kits. I have been using them since the 360 and Xbox One days. Never did me wrong. Saves me money and time. If you charge it from the console it charges fully in like 30 mins or so. Then it last for 30-40 hours. Unlike the Dual sense which barely gets 10.

@donv2135 I honestly hope dvd and physical media is making a comeback. I don’t think only digital is the smartest thing for the consumer. Sure digital has its perks and thats why i use it. But i ain’t sure i trust it fully and for movies i would perfer to have a disc truth told. But i am just not sure we will see PC, Xbox and maybe at some point PlayStation ever supporting physical as gamers are largely all digital these days. Nintendo likely sticks with physical for a while tho. Time will time. But rumors are not many brands even make disc drives any more. Which makes sense, they aren’t in vehicles no more, no laptops have them anymore and consoles are slowly phasing them out. Once Sony, LG and Panasonic quit making them it’s all digital then. I still think people should have a choice personally.

I use the MS branded play and charge kit. Get’s 30-40 hours per charge and takes no time to fully charge it. They last me around 3 years and i game on Xbox daily. So they get used often. Luckily it sounds like the next Xbox will have a more built in solution like the Elite Series. However correct me if i am wrong i think the UK government is requesting all batteries have to be removable going forward. Again take that with a pinch of salt. Think i read that a year ago. Not sure if it’s held up or not.

@donv2135 it’s already niche now. Some games not even launching physical copies. Most major retailers barely carry copies. So once they fully stop like they did with movies and music it’s over. Which again i am not saying i am for or against. I don’t use physical media but for those that do it does suck that it is largely dead. Nintendo still has a healthy physical media spilt, but Xbox and PS are above 80% pushing 90% digitally. The market won’t spend money on less than 10% of the player base.

It’s all digital going forward. I never used my Series X disc drive not once. I almost sold my Series X and bought the White digital one. I mean it will suck for those that like physical media. But i have no need for it. It lends so much more than just convenience now.

Ubisoft should just downsize and fours on the few IP’s they have that can make money if made well. Sure people will loose their jobs, but some of them will be picked up at other places. New studios open all the time. But Ubisoft don’t need to be this big when most of their titles just aren’t major performers. Plus once GTA 6 and other titles come out, gamers will be on GTA, COD, FIFA MADDEN and all the other games that month in month out domaint the sales charts. Ubisoft don’t have one of those games. Keep a hand full of IP, focus on making them good and launch them in open windows when other big games aren’t coming out would be my plan of building it back.

@Fishticon the formula that worked in 2013 is still selling today and making boat loads of money. GTA 5 is still selling better than most next gen games, it for sure is being played more than most games. Going to need more info as to why this will be a dud, as it will likely break all records in 24 hours of all media content ever. GTA is worth more than some countries. Sorry but your take on this one has little to stand on. COD comes out every year mostly the same and makes a billion dollars in a few days. GTA fans have been waiting on this for a decade. They will show out!

@LogicStrikesAgain i am not sure if all with go to Steam as many casual players will likely use the MS store they already know. Maybe MS gives a good incentive to use its store over Steam. These are the things i still can’t get my head around as well. But having the options is a BIG win for gamers as a closed ecosystem console experience for years has gotten to a point of being bad for the consumers.
I could never skip a Xbox console generation cause the Xbox controller for me dog walks the PS controller. Those thumb sticks on PS for shooters are just awful.

Yes they will make 70% on steam on 1st party titles plus they will have GP Subs, of course they will still have their own store like they do now along with Steam and maybe even Epic giving players choice. Now i think more people would prefer Steam, so yes MS losses some sales on its own store, however it offset’s some of that by making money off PS and Switch stores. Is that enough? I don’t know cause this thing has lots of curveballs as to what it looks like and how they go about it. But PC is about choice and it looks like they want to give players those options on this device. Phil said it in an interview he would like Steam and other store fronts alongside Xbox store fronts. There is a lot to learn here still. But making money on 2 other platforms is something alongside owning windows that Sony and Nintendo can not do. After all this console looks to be trying to take advantage of it’s strengths and not just making a direct console that get’s overlooked by PS consoles. I will say this, this next Xbox is a console reveal that i will be most looking forward to learning about maybe more than any other one in the history of consoles as it has a lot to unpack.

@dskatter now Xbox Aside, why wouldn’t Sony port games to the Switch 2? They will have a large player base and many of the PS4 titles would run easily on Switch 2. They will crush the PS in Japan. Seems like a cost benefit for porting a title like say ratchet and clank PS4, yes?

@dskatter the PC market is way larger than the Xbox and PS market combined. We are seeing that on the sales charts. Monster hunter wilds just sold more there then PS and Xbox combined. But again 3 million sales on a platform with 30 plus million user base at $50-$70 a copy is good money. Xbox gamers myself included still buy lot’s of games. I mean i don’t care if Sony does it or not, that’s their bottom line to worry about not mine. But this notion of 30 plus players is something to ignore just don’t make any sense. GTA 6 is about to make a bucket load of cash on Xbox, it ain’t going to GP, so why not Spider-Man?

I think many on here should be reminded without HD2 going to PC the game would have been a tiny title for that year and largely not even talked about now. PC carried this title and largely still does. Much like the new Monster Hunter, which sold more on PC than the other platforms combined. Yet on the other website you have people saying Xbox and PC player don’t buy games.

@ButterySmooth30FPS say spider man 1 came over to Xbox to make money to support spider man 3 development. That is smart business. 34 pushing 35 million Xbox’s in the world, easily sells 3 million copies on Xbox. At let’s say $50-$60 dollars. You do the math on how much that is vs porting fee’s. Sony is a stubborn company, hence they no longer sell as many products as they did and are like 6th in TV sales today. Which again is fine, i own a PS but to say it wouldn’t make sense for them is foolish.

@dskatter if Sony needs PC money they need Xbox money. The company isn’t wealthy, they spend a ton on games that don’t make loads back.not saying they ain’t making money on PS, of course they are but the chase they have been on for live service games should show just how much money they don’t have to leave on the table.

Giving this one a go. I love am from the south, love the south and really like this games art direction. Can’t say if it will be good or not. But GP day 1 for sure, if i like it, i will buy it. @TheGameThrifter yeah i am with you that i would have liked to see them earn customers back with great exclusive games. The problem is no one is leaving thier digital PS consoles behind to jump to Xbox, or their friends list etc etc. sure 2021 seemed like a good year cause the people that wanted Xbox’s didn’t have them yet. But once they hit over 25 million in sales it has come to a crawl in hardware sales. Showing MS they can’t grow the install base high enough to support exclusive titles. Plus they been supporting PC for a long time now. So they are going to blend that business some here and make development easier on their teams. Cause now all MS studio teams have to do is make a game for windows PC in mind and it run’s across all platforms outside of Switch and PS and yes i do expect the next Xbox to be around $700-$800 as it will be a mid range PC. So Sales will shrink even more. It’s all sad to me. I’ve been with Xbox since OG and it’s always been my favorite place to game. But it’s all going to change hardware wise next gen with them not meeting enough sales. I see and understand your thoughts and concerns, i have mine as well. Until we know more this is the best we can do is follow the bread crumb of info on the software and hardware and see what happens.

@Coletrain we are so close to the same person, haha! I am an accountant for local government. So i too do finance. Never got to much in the tech side of work. Love to study it in my free time and of course am 12/10 crazy for video games.
I owned all 5 PS consoles and from PS3-PS5 they have been only a exclusive machine for me cause largely i dislike all 3 controllers, the six axis on launch which i bought was trash, worst controller I’ve ever used. Dual shock 4 on PS4 was sort of ok. Useable but not my lay out, Dual sense on PS5 is a little to big and wide and has those awful thumb stick placement so it’s largely just sitting around until they get something i have to play on it. So to say i have hated exclusives isn’t a new thing for me just because MS is bringing its games to all platforms in some fan boy plastic war.
However i get the draw of them and am ok with platforms using them to lure in customers, hence i still buy the box even tho months go by without me turning it on for long. I just want Xbox to be around until i am not. I love it that much as a brand and it makes me mad they gave back all the work 360 did. I always said nothing would top my joy than i had with Super Nes, my first ever console i got for Christmas. Had a ton of games on it and crushed every score on Super Punch Out ever recorded. Still play it today on Switch. Then came along 360 and Gears of War, my friends all moved away, got married, had kids etc etc, Xbox live on that for what we called Friday night Gears and Beers became my first time in gaming history. I am a HUGE Gears of War fan, 1-3 of course. E-day being my most wanted game since RDR2. There it is my friend. Thats my love for Xbox, Gears and Beers. It changed me and secondary and maybe more importantly the controller. Every Xbox controller after the Duke has been my favorite of the generation. Series X fit’s me like a glove. I am so fast on it when i play on PS i feel like my hands grew 30 years in time i am so slow. HAHA
