Re: Talking Point: Are You Happy With The Current Xbox UI As It Stands In 2025?

HonestHick

It’s kind of a moot point now, as we know Xbox Os is in the works to work across multiple devices from Consoles to PC’s and of course handhelds. So it will all change next gen. Some even suggested it’s “light” meaning less bloat and ad’s. So that will be nice.

In it’s current form i still find it the fastest and less clicks then the PS Ui. However the achievements tab is wordy and kind of basic and boring in my opinion. The Ui is old cause it’s windows 8 themed from Xbox one. The store pics and achievement pics need to be 4k, i won’t even get started on all the junk at the bottom of the Ui that was added and is not customizable or able to be deleted. So yes there are many things it would need if it were to be used again but we know Xbox Os is the future and we might even get a look of it sooner than later as Steam Os is looking to expand to handheld PC’s and it’s rumored console.

Re: Reaction: With GTA 5 Getting A New PC Upgrade, We Hope Red Dead On Xbox Is Next

HonestHick

Please give me RDR2 upgraded on console. I could play RDR and Gear of war only for years on end without playing anything else. Yes those two IP’s mean that much to me. I have 2000 hours in Gears 5 multiplayer. RDR2 i was around that or a little under i believe. Point is those are my two games that i would pay for any major update to and would buy new hardware or anything else needed to play them in the best way possible that’s not PC. Even tho the 8K RDR2 that looks photorealistic made me strongly consider tapping into the retirement funds to build that rig HAHA

Re: Microsoft CEO Commits To Producing 'Great Quality Games' As Xbox Expands

HonestHick

@Kaloudz i agree they are stronger in the software side of things, but in fairness they are hurting in yearly hardware unit sales. Which stinks cause the Xbox 360 is, was and always will be my favorite console of all time ever made by any company. But the hardware we all know had its issues. The Series X is rock solid design and functions amazing. If Xbox can figure out its hardware and get it out to more gamers next gen then i ask all those doom and gloom people where is the weakness? They have near 40 studios owning some of the biggest IP in gaming not named Mario or Zelda. Great services and features. Sony as much as i like my PS5, they have none of that and lately they can’t seem to get a game past the cancelled stage. Sure that will change in time, but they said it themselves they are dry on big new idea’s for new IP. Well it shows trying to turn GOW into a live service game and saying Concord would be their Star Wars. Can we say out of touch? They will sell forever on name brand alone. Heck i even buy one even tho i pay it 85% less than my Xbox. But again i think MS needs to figure out it’s hardware plans and thats largely the only thing missing.

Re: Microsoft CEO Commits To Producing 'Great Quality Games' As Xbox Expands

HonestHick

@OldGamer999 the only thing i can think of is the Xbox Series X loses like $150 per unit sold. Maybe with the all white digital they are trying to find ways to lower cost and find the right number of units they need in regions around the world before they appear on shelves again. But please my friend take that with a HUGE pinch of salt cause i am guessing. Purely a guess and not intended to sound like i know that. However i do know they lose a lot per unit on the series consoles and next gen they will sell for either cost, or a slight margin or loss. But it won’t be this big of a lose for sure. I can’t wait to find out more out what Xbox will be doing hardware wise next gen in a few more years. One thing i do think we will see is a Xbox Os that is used on many devices meaning anything running it is a Xbox much like anything running windows is a PC.

Re: Microsoft CEO Commits To Producing 'Great Quality Games' As Xbox Expands

HonestHick

@Kaloudz @OldGamer999 is am playing Avowed and Ninja Gaiden Black 2 right now on GP. It’s unbeatable value. NGB2 is really good and i can’t imagine playing that on that the Dual sense. The Dual sense is to tall and wide for my hands to quickly adjust to a fast game such as NGB2. Avowed is coming along i got 5 hours in and enjoying it. It’s so good to look at i roam around to find all the chest boxes but also just to see the landscapes they built. Xbox never won the console war on hardware sales. It was always Xbox live on the OG, or Achievements and cross game chat on 360. And now we have had GP the last 2 generations as the difference maker along with quick resume. My point is Xbox being the 3rd console it has always sold like a 3rd console outside of 360, not to mention Xbox is dead and leaving the hardware business has been said since the OG and here we are. Sure things aren’t looking great for hardware for Series consoles, but i suspect they hit 40 million at the end. They ain’t leaving 40 million consoles behind when they have PC, Cloud Mobile and Nintendo and PS money on top of it. Now get the other OEM’s in on making Xbox’s and that could be a big thing, everyone talks about Nintendo in Japan and for good reason but guess what is growing like wild fire in Japan? PC and mobile. What if a Asian company like Samsung made a Xbox that catered more to that area’s needs in the form of a PC running Xbox Os? That likely would sell more than MS’s own Xbox. Don’t give up hope yet. Phil said the hardware has to appeal in order to sell. Could this be the plan?

Re: Poll: Xbox Fans, What Review Score Would You Give Avowed So Far?

HonestHick

@Titntin I too have it at an 8. It’s lovely to look at and i do enjoy playing it but… to many times i walk into an area of enemies are double my level and smash me. I am not finding the most powerful or meaningful gear yet, again only 3.5 hours in. But i do like it a lot. It has potential to patch a few things and get me to a 8.5 in the future for sure. 😀

Re: Former PlayStation Exec Says Xbox's New Strategy Is 'Natural' For Microsoft

HonestHick

I still wish they would have kept some games exclusive with new IP’s and of course Halo, Gears, Forza, Fable etc. of course bring Doom and others that have been on PS and Nintendo. If that didn’t drive anything hardware wise then i suppose there’s no other position for them to turn to other than this. Avowed is Awesome, Indy was a huge success. The games are starting to come and they are 80 plus meta games, thats what you win gamers over with. At any rate the PS5 has become the PC of the console space cause it plays all games now you just don’t know when they will release there. Starfield being one of the longer ones not on PS5 yet and that surprises me no announcement for it yet. Avowed as well has noting pointing towards a PS release but i am sure in time it will. Not going to lie i would like to see what the Pro would do for Avowed cause it’s a really pretty game. I am running it Balanced mode.

Re: Avowed Launch Update Now Live For Xbox, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

HonestHick

I’m around 3 hours in and really really enjoying it. It’s a beautiful world and the combat is heavy and feels great. However i am only level 4 and run into areas with level 11’s and get hammered. Trying to grind and find better gear. Otherwise this one is shaping up to be a game i spend a lot of time in. Keep the updates coming.

Re: Avowed Is Available Today With Xbox Game Pass (February 18)

HonestHick

2 hours in and am enjoying it so far. Graphics are good. I am running it in Balance mode as i have a LG C3 Oled. Runs it really well and i do stop to take in the art from time to time. I like the heavy weight feels to the attacks. Can’t wait to dive in more and see more of the world.

Re: Talking Point: If GTA 6 Releases This Year, What Does Xbox Do With Fable?

HonestHick

This is a tough one, cause on one hand it’s Fable coming back after a long lay off. It would shine a lot easier in its own slot. But GP and the rest of the year could use its services. GTA 6 is going to be a monster for years or even a decade to come. My gut say’s avoid GTA, my heart say’s i really want to play Fable this year. One ting is for sure this is the best attention Fable has gotten since part 2. I expect it to be good. But we have seen good games get blown out before by a mega release.

Re: Xbox Reporter Says Series X|S Successor Has Been 'Fully Approved' By Microsoft

HonestHick

@themightyant but we aren’t having a 5 year cycle, we will be at 6 years IF it launches in 2026 which it likely could or maybe get announced and launches in early to mid 2027 ahead of PS6. At that point it’s a 6 to 6.5 year cycle which is about right. But yes sadly a lot of games can’t be made in 7 years like the PS2 and PS3 and Xbox 360 years.

I will for sure try and get the next Xbox day 1 for sure. PS6 i will wait for the Pro or until they have enough exclusives i want to play cause thats all i use my Nintendo and PS consoles for. Should be exciting and i am looking forward to seeing and hearing more on it in the near future. Also exciting is the new controller and Xbox os.

Re: Xbox Reporter Says Series X|S Successor Has Been 'Fully Approved' By Microsoft

HonestHick

@Cakefish EXACTLY to both your points! The next Xbox has long been rumored to be a custom built PC with Xbox os for ease of use. Thus letting other manufacturers make hardware and of course the games are just built for PC’s. This is MS going in its own new dierction away from Sony and somewhat Nintendo and they have been doing their own thing for a long time.

Yeah i think MS and Sony both have their SOC’s locked in with AMD and likely will be the same. Sony can’t change that last min as it’s been reported work is already underway on PS6. So no time or money to change those specs much if at all. Good points made tho and yes i agree but i think it’s all going to get very interesting as Xbox and PC blend together. NOW, if and it’s a BIG IF the rumors are true of Xbox getting rid of the online pay wall is a thing as it would make sense cause it’s a PC. That is a nice selling point to Sony.

Re: Xbox Reporter Says Series X|S Successor Has Been 'Fully Approved' By Microsoft

HonestHick

@CadErik we will see, i agree it might be a slow adoption rate outside of the hardcore players. Myself i will do my best to get it day one. I am excited to see and use Xbox os and of course the new controller. The graphics hopefully get a quick upgrade for Gears of War E-day as that will still be largely what I’ll be playing online. At least a 1000 hours haha

Re: Xbox Reporter Says Series X|S Successor Has Been 'Fully Approved' By Microsoft

HonestHick

@themightyant I don’t completely disagree with you. However Covid hurt software this gen. Slower adoption rate due to the shortage of consoles also played a part in more cross gen titles i would assume. But you are right in the sense that games are taking longer and we will likely see less big hitters per console than we did in the past. We ain’t getting 3 Gears of wars like the 360 or 2 uncharted games on PS3. Just takes to long now. So i get that point but that won’t slow down the hardware teams pushing the latest innovations at price points that make sense for their brand. The name of the game on console is power to price performance and we normally see that now in 6-7 years. This would be right in line with that. Many PS4 users didn’t even pick up a PS5 cause they were still getting games. GTA6 should move some Xbox One and PS4 users over. Before they know it, the PS6 and next Xbox will be out running GTA6 way better.

Re: Xbox Reporter Says Series X|S Successor Has Been 'Fully Approved' By Microsoft

HonestHick

@themightyant i disagree, next year would be 6 year’s for the Series consoles and PS5, the PS4 and Xbox one Gen was 7 years. One year earlier i don’t think is crazy seeing as their was no Xbox One X mid gen upgrade. Plus we all know the series consoles will be supported a few years after the next box comes out. I say bring it in 2026 if they can, otherwise for sure in 2027 which would be the same life cycle as last gen.

Re: Take-Two CEO Believes GTA 6 Will Help Sell Xbox Consoles In 2025

HonestHick

There has been so many cross gen games that the few games that are only on Series consoles and PS5 have moved units. The NCAA College Football surprised me being only on PS5 and Series and there was a huge spike in numbers for both consoles when it came out, GTA 6 will do that X 3 million % or more. Can’t wait to play it and Gears of War E-Day, those are the only two games that i am counting the days down on. I lie throw in the Marcus Fenix Collection and i will be playing those 3 titles all the way into PS6 and next Xbox.

Re: Xbox Has 'Right Approach' To Exclusives & PlayStation May Follow, Suggests Ori Dev

HonestHick

@Kaloudz hey buddy you and many others on here are my Xbox Family. You keep the post on point and always share your excitement for the brand and the upcoming games. I do not intend to leave that any time soon. And a little bonus we are going to get to play with is the fact Sony is going to port PS4 games to the Switch 2. Just sit back and watch it unfold. Get your we told you so’s ready. Haha

Re: Xbox Has 'Right Approach' To Exclusives & PlayStation May Follow, Suggests Ori Dev

HonestHick

@Ilyn you are half way right. Yes everyone knows that the causal COD fan buys a PS and buys COD, maybe even FIFA or Madden. Those numbers are there. So are a few other shooters. But where you might not be as informed is the other website and loads of PS YouTubers constantly say they don’t play online games, they but PS for singe player 1st party. Go over to the other website and look at the hardcore PS fan base. They dislike online games, they want and are screaming for Sony to return to single player games.so yes you aren’t wrong in saying the average Joe or Average Jane plays COD on the PS. But the Hardcore PS fan care less about those games and want their movie like $200 million dollar plus budget single player games only.

Re: Xbox Has 'Right Approach' To Exclusives & PlayStation May Follow, Suggests Ori Dev

HonestHick

@themightyant Phil has already stated that he would like choice and other stores on the Xbox tho. Granted he mentioned Epic in that case. But the Steam rumors on Xbox just keep heating up, and no one at Steam nor MS has shut it down yet. I think by 2030 the whole industry outside of Nintendo and maybe PS will be playing everywhere. I don’t think we will see to much more timed deals on 3rd party. The money is everywhere, exclusives don’t make sense in today’s market if you are trying to make profits and keep your game played against the likes of a COD, Fortnite, Apex, Roblox etc etc A good example i seen the other day was Killzone. Everyone knows PS gamers prefer single player games. Imagine if a Killzone was on PC and Xbox? Maybe it would have found the players on those platforms and Sony would have a successful IP there instead of one that is now dead. To me that is how IP’s and dev teams are going to stay in business and not go away against the likes of the big every month hitters. 😊

Re: Xbox Has 'Right Approach' To Exclusives & PlayStation May Follow, Suggests Ori Dev

HonestHick

@LogicStrikesAgain Anything is possible. I don’t see Sony being ok with Xbox players being able to play their PC ports and not having their say and cut in it. But that is all paperwork behind the scenes out of my wheelhouse. All i know is Steam and other store fronts are coming, Xbox is going to be a open PC with the new Xbox OS that they intend to license out to handhelds and other OEM’s wanting to build Xbox’s. They are for sure going to change it up in a big way with the next Xbox, Phil is leaving us breads crumbs to that all the time. 😊

Re: Xbox Has 'Right Approach' To Exclusives & PlayStation May Follow, Suggests Ori Dev

HonestHick

@Kaloudz yeah the rules and paper work on Steam coming to Xbox is far ahead of my pay scale. But it’s coming. As for the court case on the 30% cut, i couldn’t even begin to say i know what that looks like either. But it’s things to consider and believe me Sony, MS, Google and Apple are all very interested in that case as it’s a major deal for them.

To your Ecosystem point, thanks s=for sharing that as i have been saying for years, the free cloud saves, Backwards compatibility, controller layout, friends list etc etc is why i love my Xbox. Is it perfect? No! Nothing is. But i truly enjoy it. It’s where i buy all my games outside of Nintendo and PS exclusives. I am all for the amazing games n the lineup. I am a HUGE Gears of War fan. E-Day is my most wanted title in over a decade. So again we fans have the right to spend our money where and how we like. But Xbox is like a small family to me over the last 20 years. All of you on here whether you agree or disagree with me are Xbox players and a part of something i like to share my thoughts, excitement and joy of the entertainment of Xbox. I simply ain’t walking away from it.

Re: Xbox Has 'Right Approach' To Exclusives & PlayStation May Follow, Suggests Ori Dev

HonestHick

@Millionski i can’t say i disagree cause at the current moment it seems odd. But we don’t know what they are working on behind the scenes. Likely the rumored Xbox is, that they license out to handhelds and even others that want to make a Xbox/ PC box. Things are changing in a big way on how MS will do Hardware, they are telling us indifferently every time they speak.i can’t say what you are saying is wrong in 2025, but with the next gen i am still betting my house and dog on Steam on Xbox. The bread crumbs for it keep getting laid.

Re: Xbox Has 'Right Approach' To Exclusives & PlayStation May Follow, Suggests Ori Dev

HonestHick

@themightyant yeah i don’t even try to pretend i know what courts will rule. So i like everyone else have to sit back and watch it unfold. However Sony with the Pro is not losing money and MS is looking to not lose money on the next Xbox. Especially if they allow others to product Xbox’s which is also heavily rumored. MS was losing around $200 on Series X and $100 ish on S and Phil spoke to that not being the case going forward. We all know MS is going to build a Xbox OS and license it out to handhelds and likely others making Xbox’s. They are looking to go software first and Hardware second, which for Sony its pumping out the hardware to see bigger numbers come in on the software. I really like the change of pace MS is heading, sure it will be met with uncertainty and complaints and it’s breaking tradition of over 20 years of business strategy. But that’s ok with me and i think will really open eyes up to loads of dev teams saying we are not locking any software down to just one platform. Sort of like we are seeing with Square. Destin asked about Steam and Phil said they are our friends right down the road from us and they do some really great things using Windows. Then at the end Destin said so it’s confirmed Steam is coming to Xbox and Phil laughed and didn’t deny it. It’s coming, what it will look like and the business angle behind the scenes, i have zero clue. But it’s coming to Xbox!

Re: Xbox Has 'Right Approach' To Exclusives & PlayStation May Follow, Suggests Ori Dev

HonestHick

@LogicStrikesAgain @Kaloudz @themightyant @Cakefish @Fiendish-Beaver

Before we go all in on Sony won’t bring games to other platforms. Keep 2 things in mind that are going on behind the scenes. The first is the biggest elephant in the room. In Europe it is already scheduled to go to court over the 30 % cut Apple, Google, PS, Xbox take from 3rd parties. IF and it’s a BIG IF. That goes down to say 20 or even 15%, there goes PS advantage of making all that 3rd party money. That is something to keep an eye on. I forgot if it’s to start the case in 2025 or 2026. Number 2 and less likely to move Sony but for sure be interesting is a little service you all might have heard of called Steam. It’s coming to Xbox. I will bet my dog and house on it. When that i don’t know but it’s coming. On the Destin podcast with Phil this week it was basically confirmed as Phil just laughed and didn’t answer. Destin laughed and they went to the next topic. Well that would make Sony have to do a whole separate launcher if they don’t want Xbox players playing PS games on Steam and i am not sure if that would even work. So before we say the industry isn’t changing even for Sony with good hardware numbers. I would stop and play the wait and see game.

Re: Xbox's South Of Midnight Brings Folklore Magic To Game Pass This April

HonestHick

@K1LLEGAL 100% and as for sticking up for Xbox, i always rip them when they do something wrong. It’s the way it should be but they don’t like that on the other website. Sony share holders need to ask why did you put a single player studio known for remasters and remakes on a live service single player game? That is bozo the clown management stuff there.

Re: Xbox's South Of Midnight Brings Folklore Magic To Game Pass This April

HonestHick

@Sol4ris thank you buddy, that was my part of my point for sure. We the gamers always say show us the games. Nintendo plans to do that soon with the upcoming launch of switch 2. MS keeps doing it and Sony hasn’t. This ain’t fan boy stuff, this is a concern and maybe they should write more articles on that. Along with hey GP is looking solid early in 2025. 😊

Re: Reaction: Xbox's Killer January Showcase Proves That Its Games Pipeline Is Finally Ready

HonestHick

@LogicStrikesAgain not to many if you followed my list of sales that flop this year including a GOY multiple award winner! To a crowd asking for smaller scale games at that.

I too buy most of my games and just try things on GP, but the GP discount for the games i buy is close to a free monthly try. Some months that is. I did however play and beat Indiana Jones on GP and won’t buy it cause it has little replay value for me.

Re: Xbox's South Of Midnight Brings Folklore Magic To Game Pass This April

HonestHick

@LogicStrikesAgain so spend money on games to take games away from other platforms only to sell less than what they dev could have made on PS, Xbox and PC? How long will that last. Well Square Enix say’s no longer. How much money does Sony have left to burn on titles that don’t perform. Remember before this it was Ghostwire Tokyo and deathloop. I think that is going to dry up, as Dev’s see more money being everywhere. What games does Sony have? Most of their big studio have all had games cancelled, sure we have intergalactic, thats a 2026 titles at the earliest. I stick to Wolverine and GOT. What else is there? Hoping MS gives them a ton of newer games for their players to spend $70 dollars on while GP players eat. Maybe buy a $700 dollar Pro console to get 3-5 more FPS on Doom? I mean look i love my PS5, this is just me being honest with where Sony is cause that story isn’t all that much told online seeing as they sell a lot of hardware units. Have a great past with PS4. Cool, i get it. But they have been a mess these last 2 years. They are lost on how to make a game that has reoccurring cash flows. Give them credit for trying but Bluepoint making a GOW live service is embarrassingly bad. While MS shows off ton’s of nice games with loads more waiting to reveal more footage in June! Just seems like this month was a start of a major flip. Don’t forget, if you want more PS single player game to buy your remasters and remakes. That is tight up there with if you don’t have internet just buy a 360!

Re: Xbox's South Of Midnight Brings Folklore Magic To Game Pass This April

HonestHick

@LogicStrikesAgain I am not trying to be hard on you, but i disagree PS is always secretive with their roadmap. PS4 announced games 2-4 years before we ever got to play them. They are now cause they have nothing in pipeline ready to show. Saying they didn’t sell well is a direct reply to Xbox gamers don’t buy games, which sometimes isn’t a lie, but how is 1.5 million for Astro bot and other titles they bought such as stellar Blade a better example? As for the it’s only natural for Xbox to grow its pipeline and it not being a surprise, i totally agree, it’s what we all been saying since they did it. However that didn’t stop countless people talking mess about it. Today and i would imagine in June is going to further show how important and necessary a move it was. I don’t believe you will get a roadmap for PS cause they have countless studios starting over. We will see Wolverine and GOT at some point, other than that????????

Re: Xbox's South Of Midnight Brings Folklore Magic To Game Pass This April

HonestHick

@Sol4ris absolutely, all the GP hate, Xbox is dead hate. Look at week Sony has had. 3 cancelled games. There are studios of PS’s now that we will very very likely not see until PS6. All the websites saying MS was foolish for spending 100 billion on all those studios etc etc. look at their ROADMAP for GP growing and growing by each show and again they still have the blockbuster June showcase to go. Owning all those studios year after year after year, GP is going to be a major industry force. But it takes time to grow. But the other websites now writes more articles on full price ports of games that Xbox players can get on a subscription than they do their own 1st party games cause Sony asked Bluepoint of all studios to make a GOW live service game. Then had a Sony ex say if you want more single player games than buy more remakes and remasters. Call me names if anyone on here wants to but i see a big DIFFERENCE starting. anyone else seeing better Value in Sony’s service plan?

Re: Xbox's South Of Midnight Brings Folklore Magic To Game Pass This April

HonestHick

@PsBoxSwitchOwner its not console wars i make enough money to own all 3 and do so to fully support the industry and this hobby. However all the sites that bash Xbox and say they kill studios and don’t have vision etc etc. eat a little crow today. This was a great showing and we still have the big blockbuster June event to go. What is Sony going to show? Other than they can’t make a live service game and certain studios of theirs won’t be seen until PS6, so maybe one of us has to say who is ruining their studio’s with their agendas now? Someone outside of me and @Banjo has to stick up for Xbox a little bit especially after the month Sony has had. Hey it’s all in fun, we all own multiple consoles. Speaking for myself i want them all to be good, but this site rarely bashes their competition. Can you safely say that for the other website?

Re: Soapbox: I Hope Xbox Properly Supports Switch 2 When It Launches In 2025

HonestHick

@Coletrain its called cloud. I seen a guy saying Nintendo and Geforce now might do a deal with each other. So i think it’s possible some of the heavy hitters the system can’t run will maybe run on cloud. GeForce now is pretty good already, in another few years it should only continue to get better. Thats just a guess, but for the future i just want to see a new Mario and Mario Kart. 😊
