Back in November, we mentioned that Sledgehammer Games was looking for a developer with Nintendo Switch experience, suggesting the Call of Duty franchise could be making its way to Switch in the near future, and now it's being reported that Xbox is "nearly done" bringing its first COD experience to the platform.
This is according to Windows Central editor Jez Corden, who's advised that Call of Duty should be appearing on Nintendo Switch "in a few months", although we don't yet know which version.
We're going to guess this probably relates to Call of Duty: Warzone — the ever-evolving free-to-play experience — rather than a port of Black Ops 7 that may get in the way of a potential Call of Duty mainline release in late 2026.
Whatever the case may be, Xbox looks set to make some serious revenue with Call of Duty on Switch, while also honouring its commitment of bringing COD to Nintendo systems — something that was part of the Activision acquisition back in late 2022 and early 2023. It's taken a few years, but it's finally now coming to fruition.
