I'd be very surprised if College Football 26 is on the list though - it would be the first ever "day one" EA Sports title on Game Pass. They never add new releases to GP at launch.

I really struggled with this. Expedition 33 was my #1, but it could have been any of these three:

Way too early to say in terms of the next generation and how we'd focus our coverage, so let's see how things pan out. I can't imagine we'd change our name because our #1 intent is to be focused on all things "Xbox" and that encompasses a lot of things these days, but who knows what the future holds.

@Kaloudz Yeah, that's what it is. Just a big screen in VR and the Xbox Cloud Gaming app.

In terms of Xbox games with VR features, like Microsoft Flight Simulator, you can use Wi-Fi or a cable to hook up to your PC and play VR games that way as well. It obviously has to be a powerful enough PC in order to run those games though.

@Techno92LFC It probably would have come with a lot of technical issues (bugs, crashes, glitches, entirely broken games).

The system they're using now is designed to be perfect (with graphical and frame rate improvements in some cases), but they have to go through each game individually and not only create new versions of them, but re-license them as well.

@Jenkinss The messaging is so vague, which is something Xbox has become very good at in recent years, that it's impossible to know what they're alluding to really.

@Cakefish Oh, I totally agree - I also think the ROG Xbox Ally is the beta test and we're potentially heading the way of playing Steam games on our Xbox consoles in the future... but I just don't want to take it as confirmation until Xbox literally spells it out for us.

Until that point, anything could happen. Plans change, etc. Not trying to spoil your excitement though, by all means be a believer!

This could mean they're bringing support for multiple storefronts to next-gen consoles, and I'm certainly hopeful that it does, but it could also just mean that PC and handheld will be able to play Steam games as well as Xbox PC app games, for example.

It's intentionally vague and leaves us with more questions than answers. Until Xbox comes out and says "Steam will be supported on the next Xbox console", nothing is confirmed IMO.

@luke88 Yeah, it's apparently getting it very soon, but they weren't able to finalise it in time for launch.

@Gunonaboat It's so hard to say. I guess I'd give it a "Not Bad" 6/10 based on my experience so far. As mentioned though, I wouldn't personally buy it for the £54.99 / $59.99 they're asking for on the Xbox Store right now.

@Fiendish-Beaver Good question! You're right, there's only so much time in the day and I've got too many devices sitting around me already.

That said, I still find myself playing my Switch, my 3DS (etc.) amidst everything else, and I think the idea of an Xbox handheld, beyond all of the work-related stuff, is mainly just so I can bounce between "docked" and "handheld" Xbox games as often as I'd like. It also means I can explore more PC games without having to sit in front of a monitor, which gets pretty tiresome when I'm doing it for 40+ hours per-week already.

But yeah... all this could be done with the Steam Deck, ROG Ally, Legion Go, MSI Claw as well. As someone who's reluctantly held off on getting into that world though, the ROG Xbox Ally feels like the perfect place to get started.

As you say, the dev just spoke their opinion and that's totally fair. It's just unusual to see feedback like this, especially a few weeks after launch.
