@RTGX @IronCrow86 It doesn't seem so unfortunately, the Disc to Digital feature works because every manufactured disc from around late 2014 onwards has a unique identifier attached to it.

To get original Xbox and Xbox 360 games to work, they'd not only need to find some way to attach identifiers to each disc (which seems very difficult if not impossible), but they'd also need to ensure every supported game was part of the Xbox backwards compatibility program in order for those titles to work on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.

@Nakatomi_Uk Yeah, DOOM Eternal is the only game advertised as a Microsoft Store code. The older ones are GOG only.

@IronCrow86 Xbox 360 games shouldn't be working at all - the feature is only designed for Xbox One and Xbox Series X games.

@RiverGenie @HelloCraigo Let's not forget that Helix will play PC games anyway, so it's seemingly more about whether they'll optimise their games for controllers (and potentially whether they'll bring them to the Xbox PC store - depends whether Helix will support Steam or not).

In the case of WARDOGS here, it's great that it's coming to Xbox in 2028, but will we potentially be able to play it on an Xbox console before then anyway because of PC support? Will be interesting to see.

@QuoVadis I never really enjoyed NHL games much during the PS2 / GameCube era, but some people really love NHL 04 (although mainly the PC version more than console). I play NHL 2002 occasionally but it feels quite arcadey by today's standards.

My suggestions would be to start with NHL 04 and NHL 2K5 if you're looking at that era.

@QuoVadis If you're looking for simulation-focused NHL games that aren't modern, your best bet is probably NHL 14 on the Xbox 360 / PS3 - that one is consistently brought up as a favourite by many fans of the series. It was the last game before they transitioned to the Xbox One era and made a bunch of changes, so it was essentially the cherry on top of the glory days of NHL 09-14. The only other thing I'd mention in regards to NHL 14 is that they released some identical versions called NHL Legacy Edition on Xbox 360 in the seasons after that, where they basically just updated the rosters but nothing else. Those games are worth getting too.

Aside from that, the NHL 2K series went through a pretty great era from around NHL 2K5-2K11. A lot of people say NHL 2K8 is the best, but they're all worth exploring because they're quite different from each other. 2K11 had the Ride the Zamboni mode between periods which I enjoyed . I will say that 2K feels a bit clunky to me these days though, albeit with some unique features and control schemes that are still worth checking out.

And that's it unfortunately, aside from arcadey-style games. I enjoyed NHL Rock The Rink on PS1 back in the day, and obviously NHL Hitz as you say, but EA has pretty much been the only company making NHL games for the past decade-and-a-bit.

@Fiendish-Beaver Absolutely. I enjoy the momentum of covering showcases back-to-back and being able to provide instant recaps, but there are definitely times where I wish I could just watch a showcase without treating it as "work"

Can't exactly complain though, can I? It's a privileged position to be in, and it's gratifying to know that people appreciate the "work" we're putting in for events like these.

@oopsiezz Am I allowed to admit I was a bit disappointed by it? Not by the gameplay or the world or the visuals at all — all of that stuff looks phenomenal — but I'm worried about the characters and story.

They just seemed... dull? A bit too serious? Lacking charm? Maybe it's just the way they came across in this preview to me.

Gameplay wise though, it's going to be amazing I'm sure.

@sabreman64 You're welcome. EE has three different versions of the console on sale right now - one standalone, one with GTA 6 and one with a £160 GameCard (I don't know what that means either). The standalone is the cheapest at £759.00.

@VisitingComet1 There's just no need to compete with GTA. They may as well sit on it, continue to polish, and come out swinging with THE game that everyone's focused on in February, rather than trying to take attention away from the biggest entertainment launch of all time.

@fatpunkslim Right, that's how I feel too. I always expected GTA 6 to be good, but Fable seemed very uncertain.
