Wow, didn't expect to see GoldenEye in the list.

I suspect it's one of three things:

1. They've accidentally included it and it'll be removed from the list in the coming days.

2. The license has run out to keep it on the Xbox Store, and they're not interested enough (or not able) to renew it.

3. They're still trying to figure out a new deal to secure its future as both a purchasable title and as part of the Rare Replay collection.

You can't buy it on its own right now, so that seems to suggest it might be fading away into the night...

@strzelec I understand the point you're making, but I'd say it's not the fault of the Xbox fan for not buying Gears of War: E-Day when they subscribe to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate already. Game Pass specifically exists as a way to avoid buying games for full price.

Let's not forget that Xbox reportedly sold a huge number of Premium Upgrades for Gears of War: E-Day as well. And it's impossible to know how many people actually signed up to Xbox Game Pass to play it.

Update: Article has been updated with a new quote from Jason Schreier (Bloomberg) that's been getting attention this afternoon.

"The reality is that BioWare was shut down for the same reason that game companies have been laying off tens of thousands of people over the last few years, which is that game budgets have grown exponentially and become more and more expensive for these companies to make.

We just saw Gears of War: E-Day cost $500 million to Xbox. That is a real number, that is real. That's what we're looking at here - that's what games cost to make, especially in North America these days."

@Sol4ris Regardless of whether that's true or not, they're legally bound to try and save Arkane. It'd surely be in the best interests of everyone involved if they could find a buyer for them.

Not exactly great PR to come out and say "sorry, but we're closing down Arkane and Marvel's Blade is being cancelled in the process". They'll want to avoid that if at all possible.

@theduckofdeath Also because the news is out there and getting a bunch of attention anyway, so we may as well use the chance to highlight the conflicting reports about it.

Added bonus - this should mean that disc versions will allow for Xbox Play Anywhere as well through the Xbox Disc to Digital program.

In terms of the new OLED version, it'll likely be brighter than the existing model but I'm not sure whether it'll make as much of a difference as you're hoping for. OLED screens definitely look nicer in general, but they're more of a novelty than a must-have, IMO.

@Henchdog Hmm, that's a little disappointing. I also invested in a ton in RB4's DLC and I play a lot of YARC on PC, so I'm looking at Stage Tour as complimenting those games rather than replacing them.

Still playing Rock Band 4 regularly, along with YARC on PC. Adding Stage Tour into the mix is pretty much essential for me, another reason to make use of the Riffmaster as well
