The fact that the Switch 2 port is being compared to the Xbox Series S console in any fashion feels like a win for the Nintendo hybrid. Star Wars Outlaws didn't look or play half bad either.

For some, the Switch may be their only way to experience the game. It may not be the best version, but its definitely serviceable it seems.

I remember playing this on 360 and being blown away by it. It has aged a little bit, but most games do.

Seems like development started with Switch 1 and the Switch 2 edition was simply bolted on without major upgrades.

I only picked up Dragon Quest III HD2D, and that'll probably be it. My backlog taunts me for even buying that, haha.

Play Anywhere definitely influences whether I get a game through the Microsoft store or not. I mean, if you could buy a game once and play it on multiple devices that are normally separately priced, wouldn't you?

My microsoft points pile was a little lower this holiday season, but I at least cashed in for Dragon Quest III HD2D. Nothing really else screams 'must have' at the moment.

If the Xbox Ally X is notably better than the current Ally X, I may consider selling it to upgrade down the road. It'd be nice to see how well it runs the more current titles im interested in.

Looking forward to see the improvements for myself on the ROG Ally X. It certainly sounds promising!

@Kaloudz - I put in a few hours so far, and its really amazing. With my TV time nearly non existent with a 5 year old, E33 isnt exactly family friendly either, lol. Thankfully, its a Play Anywhere title so ive been playing on the ROG Ally X.

Naturally... I just cashed in all my points to get both Expedition 33 and Silksong. 🤣

Perhaps thats also the date for a little game called sil... nah, nevermind.

Played this on PC, really liked it. Great to see it coming to more platforms.

I really enjoyed Arcade Paradise, sad to see it go, but i do own it on other platforms

I'm curious how much better they will run on the Xbox Ally in comparison to the standard. I know most UE5 games are quite demanding on the current ROG (i think there's a lighting issue currently), with 30ish fps being the best it can do.

@Spider-Kev - Agree on that. It does make me hestiate to purchase at that price point, but ultimately, if I see myself personally getting my money's worth, ill buy it. Outer Worlds is just not that game for me, but I never played the first, so should probably start there before wishlisting.

I remember Chrono Trigger on the SNES was $80 when in came out and my parents wouldn't spring for that amount, but ended up finding it used at a local shop for $40 just weeks after release and got it then with my limited allowance. Good times.

This mirrors the Borderlands conversation a bit about the cost of games.

The game will be on GP, so there will be a lot of people who play it there, which from this persons own words, is what they would want as a developer... people playing their games.

I also find it amusing that $10 more is a breaking point for people, living through the SNES/N64 era where games had cost this much, not to mention all the cost increases in life.

Don't fret though, the game will likely be on sale a few months after release. 😋

This just sounds like they gambled on Game Pass and it didn't pan out as planned this time. There could be a variety of factors that played into this... Oblivion release near the end of April, Expedition 33, Doom launch mid May, all while the next Switch was prepping for launch. They released early May in the middle of higher profile releases.

Im quite happy with my ROG Ally X, but I can't imagine it being priced less than a PS5 pro. In the US, the Ally X is $899.99 at Best Buy.

Definitely excited to see and hear morr about the feature set, but I can't imagine it will be a significant technological leap over many of the handheld PCs on the market.

Already have it(Xbox/PC), but curious if they'll be another free Xbox game this month with Amazon Prime. Should find out in an hour or so.

Xbox Play Anywhere, huh? I'll add it to the list. I have a few games like this in the backlog. 😁

I'll be watching it on my own since my daughter is only 5. Too many teen and mature related games on Xbox presentations. With the last two showcases being awesome, ill be fixing a drink if its not in the morning for us (tequila or bourbon on the rocks) and enjoying on my own. My wife isnt too interested in this stuff. 😋

Probably not. I got a ROG Ally X less than a year ago, and with a Switch 2 incoming, I'll have enough portable consoles, haha.

I think this is as close as we'll get to the Activison Anthology collection!

I've got games from a bunch of different storefronts, so a console that would let me play them on my TV would be very appealing.

Wonder if Sony would stop producing PC versions if this were to happen. 🤣

Im probably getting $10 a month doing the various tasks. Don't have Game Pass, which is fine for now with a large Switch/PC backlog. I'll probably save up until Nov/Dec and get a bunch of stuff on deep discount.

I have one pre ordered. I think I've owned every Nintendo console dating back to the NES... even owning two Game and Watch games from 1982-83. There's something comforting playing first party games from them that I just cant get on Xbox and PC. Can't wait!

Curious to see what this thing will cost. Given the ROG Ally X cost me $799, it sounds like this improved specs version will crack $1k. While that is pricey, the games are often cheaper quick and through bundles, or outright free through Epic Games or through Amazon Gaming (Prime subscription).

Based on the rumored timing, it sounds like it could be part of Microsofts showcase in June.

I just finished Dungeons of Hinterburg and found it highly enjoyable. The dungeons were were varied enough to keep me interested, and there were plenty of things to collect, purchase and unlock. Definitely worth a look if your backlog isn't bursting at the seems.

I love that they started mixing in xbox versions along with the pc ones! With Minecraft Legends being the xbox game of April... I'm hoping Dungeons is next month.

I saw this while doing my daily reward points run (US). Its neat that they're available as an option, but it's just not super enticing to me personally. Rather put the points towards games.

Concurrent Steam users now over 140k. Glad to see this selling so well. I'll personally need to hold off for now, but ill definitely be checking it out in the future!

No worries, ill just keep accumulating Microsoft points. I do go on vacation next week and would have loved a discount on Dungeons of Hinterburg so that i could start on the ROG and finish on the xbox when i get home.

I got a ROG Ally X last year, and its very appealing to get a single copy of a game that works on both Xbox console and that handheld. More of this please!

The question I have is whether or not Microsoft or third parties go back to games previously not Play Anywhere and add it. Certainly a few titles Id love to see with it.

The last few June showcases have been awesome, so I'm hoping they can deliver another great one.

Wow... surprised this is still relevant! I remember playing Runescape in college some 20+ years ago. It'll be interesting to see how this turns out.

Im not about to spend most of my day logging into a laptop and mobile just to earn max points if that is the way its heading. Its too much of a time commitment.

Ive been racking up points for years now, but if i start seeing this with 30 minute 'cooldowns', im out. Its a shame too, i felt like they were reestablishing themselves well after they took away a lot of stuff over the last year or two.

At this point, it sounds like it makes more sense to pick up another job for a few hours a week. 😋

@SMJ - Was just going to say i'd find it funny to play Spiderman, Horizon, Last of Us, God of War, etc on an Xbox device that supports Steam games.

I believe Dragon Quest III HD 2D is a Play Anywhere title too, at least according to my GG wishlist. Didn't see that listed here.

At this rate it has to be a launch title for Switch 2.

Definitely waiting to see what Play Anywhere titles will be on sale. Have a decent amount of Microsoft points saved up too. 🙂

In any event, I've heard lots of good things about the game, but havent tried it myself. Maybe the next time i subscribe to GP ill give it a go.

I like it! The Armoury Crate software on the ROG Ally X takes all the games downloaded on your device, regardless of the platform you downloaded it from (Steam, Epic, GOG, Xbox, etc) and puts them all in a singular list to select from. I imagine the interface would be something like that. Its not perfect, but it gets the job done.

If it can get GTA 6 to run on it and it comes in at an affordable price, that combo will sell like crazy this holiday season... if it indeed is coming in 2025.

Seeing the Duke Nukem pic really makes me want the 2D games.

In other words, the future is gaming consoles will essentially become a universal game machine, not dissimilar to how VHS and DVD players were. Its an interesting prospect, but I just dont think Sony and Nintendo are in a position where they need this to survive. Itll be interesting to see how things play out!
