This overreaction / call for abandonment feels like nothing more than click bait, and being used for nothing more than likes and attention.

Let’s wait and see what news comes out of the event people. Please line up in an orderly fashion and not panic. 🫠

This is why developers are so gun shy when releasing video these days, because what is often shown doesn’t always translate to what is actually released. From what I’ve seen, Avowed is a very promising title that still appears to be getting polished up in time for release.

I’d rather see these Developer Directs for games still being worked on than nothing at all.

@Kaloudz - How crazy if their business update came at the same time as the incoming Nintendo Direct? I mean, is there a reason the rumors are only on PS5 and not Nintendo? Making up stuff with no evidence is fun. 😂

I have a strange feeling that Xbox is on the verge of a very original business plan. It sounds like GP is earning Microsoft quite a bit of coin, so why not after a period of exclusivity put them on other consoles where it makes sense? An Xbox Series S/X is still a very approachable way to play AAA games, so I think the consoles still have a place in the market. I mean, we sort of see it now with console exclusives to PC, is it really hard to imagine a world w/ first party console for GP to competing console later? Can’t wait to see what comes out of the business update event.

I’m thinking future base consoles will be digital only with a removable/external disc drive similar to PS5s newest model. It just makes sense at this stage of the industry.

I’m guessing Indy releasing in 2024 will depend on whether development continues as expected. If they hit enough time goals, they’ll narrow it down. My money is on November.

Really liked the DD. While Ara doesn’t suit my gaming preferences, the rest of them I could see myself playing through.

Very enjoyable Direct and the reveal of Indiana Jones was easily the highlight. I’d put it in the A-/B+ range.

I’m happy to see the relationship between Square Enix and Microsoft getting stronger, but this title felt underwhelming in comparison to the rest of the games shown. No doubt it will be good and fans of the Mana series will eat it up. Will be watching for updates over the coming months.

I was disappointed at first when I saw the first person perspective because my heart was set on a third person action adventure game, but the more they showed, the more it won me back. Looks amazing!

Glad to see it’s coming soon. I just started playing the first one. Plenty of time to beat it by then!

Really liked how Avowed is shaping up. Probably will end up being a purchase when it releases! Gotta start saving up those Microsoft Points. 😁

If all these games get released in 2024 separated by 3 or so months, I imagine we’ll get firm dates for 2 out of 4. My money is on hellblade and avowed!

I think they will continue to have some type of console for the foreseeable future, but I argue they are venturing into uncharted territory. Game Pass is an amazing value, and having the ability to play that library with the graphics a series S/X can provide has to be cheaper and less intimidating than on a PC. Cloud gaming is a nice feature, but I don’t see that being a mainstream way of playing games anytime soon. The wait time alone that I frequently get is aggravating.

With that said, why not have some more games on other platforms to try and increase your exposure where it makes sense, and make a little extra money doing so?

@Friendly - was hoping for a late 2024 / early 2025 release, but that’s probably more on the wishful thinking side. Either way, excited for the direct. 🙂

Very excited about this, more so to see if they can match or exceed the success of last January’s Direct. No Fable though?

There’s going to be a lot of people playing McPixel 3 on GP this month I guess (seriously… you can earn achievements so quickly in it). I did that back when achievements still gave you 50 points. Not sure what I’ll do to get that 1000 one. Seems like a time commitment I can’t make. Time for Pure Xbox to make a guide for quickest games to earn all achievements in. 😋

Seems justified for a month or two if you are a fan of Ubisoft games with that release schedule.

I played for like an hour on GP the day it came out, but it didn’t hook me. Perhaps it was the cloud streaming that took me out of it, but I only had an Xbox One at the time. I have since got a Series X, and ironically enough, I started again this morning. Definitely see myself getting hooked.

I thought it looked good from a graphics perspective, but I’m someone who started in gaming in the Atari era, so I’m easily impressed. 😋

Not sure why they didn’t want to wait until the Game Awards, but I guess it didn’t matter since it was leaked. Looking forward to more information!

Day one GP? Sarcasm 😂

In the US, I know there’s been a lot of changes recently. Aside from the 50 to 5 point GP achievement points, 10 point actions on the Bing app have been reduced to 1-3 points apiece & search cooldowns have been instituted. They also seem to have removed the shopping and health points accessible on MSN. I used to spam movie cast photos to max search points, but there’s a few second cooldown now where if you click too quickly, they don’t count.

On the plus side, there’s a ‘12 piece puzzle’ reward that gives 100 points for 3 bing searches everyday for 7 days, and completing the puzzle nets 1000. It’s appeared in the past too, so hopefully it remains a regular fixture now. There is also some prediction game too that can net you 5 points

This is going to be a year of hurt, lol.

I’ve already purchased an Xbox Series X w/ Starfield & Diablo IV, a wireless headset for gaming, and Atari 50 for the Switch. I’ll be on the hunt for digital purchases this week.

Continuing my playthrough of Arcade Paradise, which is much more fun than I expected!

Well, I finally pulled the trigger. Picked up a Series X w/ Diablo IV & Starfield for $489.00 to replace my aging Xbox One. After a pretty stellar release year with another one likely on the way, this feels like the time to jump into the next gen fray. Very excited!

@cardcrusher29 - To be fair, I don’t recall because I played and completed it early into its release. It certainly felt pretty big, but it could also feel that way because traversing the map felt a little slower than most metroidvanias.

Rather enjoyed Ghost Song. There were some interesting mechanics in there that made it worth the playthrough. Also a sucker for Metroidvanias. 😋

I’d recommend giving it a try before it’s off GP.

As someone who is still on an Xbox One, I’m really hoping for a solid deal on a Series X. Even if it’s a free year of Game Pass, 1-2 free games or a MS gift card, my arm doesn’t need to be twisted too much at this point. 😋
