Played through A Little to the Left and found it very enjoyable, and was thinking about the other DLC pack just a few days ago! Was also interested in Cairn, being a former climber myself.
I gave it a C based on what was shown. Nothing really knocked my socks off. Same with the Sony one. I really hope Xbox floors us. I would love for Nintendo to do that too, but I feel like they're on their victory lap and they'll be heavy emphasis on remakes/remasters.
Perhaps it was a slip that'll be confirmed during the xbox showcase in June. I interpreted Atlus's response as they made a mistake, but didn't outright say it wasn't coming soon to GP. Guess we'll find out soon enough!
Definitely want to check out immortals. It seems like a game I'd like but I was swayed away by bad press on it, and when you have a large backlog, just wasn't worth buying atthe time. Never finished the first hellblade, so need to get that knocked out too.
I hate to say it, but I've really enjoyed playing xbox games via cloud. I largely play the smaller games on it that aren't fast paced, which has worked very well over my router and 5G networks where I live.
I'll be curious to hear what Phil says when he eventually crawls out of the rock he's hiding under. Seeing that the studio closures were very opposite his vision for xbox, this is likely something he was against. As someone who has been in similar positions, the best you can do is make your pitch and show the upside, but ultimately, you don't get to make the final call. When it doesn't go your way, you then have to break it to people, and it's incredibly uncomfortable. You question whether you want to continue or just quit because it's too much.
I'm certainly not defending any decisions here, just offering a perspective. Phil will eventually speak about it, or he'll quit because it'll be too much for him. The next few weeks of actions or inactions will be very telling.
I'll be curious if the official Xbox podcast goes into it. I also wonder if this will effect previously announced plans for Phil to speak after the June showcase.
Bad timing on my part... I just started Ravenlok this past weekend. Don't have time to binge like when I was younger, so the discussion is whether or not to just abandon it before I get too far.
It depends on my mood and genre of the game. I like longer games followed by a few shorter games so that I don't burn out and get bored. I've noticed playing back to back 100+ hour games only makes me enjoy the second one far less.
I'm feeling optimistic, and I'm going to say itll release in fall 2025. I think 4 out of 5 of the major GTA titles (III, Vice City, San Andreas & V) all had a Sept/Oct release date, if I remember correctly. IV I think was a Spring release.
I downloaded Hot Wheels because my daughter loves those things. With the first game, she loved to watch me play the tracks and she would open the blind boxes and just look at then from different angles. I hope that feature is still intact.
I'll probably give it a playthrough on GP. 6 isn't necessarily a bad game, just got a great one. If it lasts for 2 hours, I'm sure I can get some enjoyment out of it.
It's certainly a welcome addition, although it doesn't make up for everything that was taken. It's just slowing me down to get Cyberpunk entirely with points, which in the grand scheme of things is fine. My backlog is already bursting at the seams. 🤣
I feel like the only way this works if the existing library of xbox games is available through the store. If that were the case, I know I'd be interested if all my existing games worked with it right out of the box. It'll probably be digital games only though.
Lots of things got nerfed this morning, and I am pretty bummed about it. Not including the rewards app streak points, I probably earned about 200 less points today. Multiplied through a full month and divided by my normal earnings, I'd say it's about a 40% overall reduction for me. It's probably closer to 50% including the rewards app loss that is coming.
I'll still keep earning the points I'm getting though. I play games because I want to, not to simply earn rewards. Sure, there is less points to go around now, but it is what it is. People will complain, people will overreact... it's just human nature when it comes to change.
I can't be the only person who has heavier things weighing me down in life, so the loss of microsoft points barely registers. 😋
I get why people aren't happy to see microtransactions in a single player game, but let's face it, this is the reality of the present and future of games. Don't like it? Don't buy it. As someone who almost exclusively plays single player experiences, it's inclusion will not affect my initial purchase, and more often than not, I won't purchase anything beyond what was included initially.
It seems incredibly shortsighted to just ignore the entire game because of this single element, but if people feel that strongly about it, do we really care? Maybe they miss out on an amazing experience, but if their value system makes them feel that way, why can't we accept that?
I had just earned a $50 xbox gift card earlier this week, and the points change required a few more days to get back to it. I think it went from 46k points to 47.5k in my region.
My cloud streaming experience has been pretty good! Granted, I've only been using it for more simplistic games like A Little to the Left and Vampire Survivors, so I don't know how a more complicated game would hold up.
@Scirius - I'm talking about Pentiment specifically though. Does 60 versus 120 fps have a major impact on the enjoyment of a game like Pentiment? I'm thinking not.
People grasping at straws to complain about everything these days. Does the difference really matter in a game like this? Does this take away the enjoyment to people? I'm genuinely asking.
The only thing this is doing is reminding me i still havent played Pentiment on GP (in the backlog) 😋
I just got a new phone, and I've been using Xbox GP cloud gaming quite a bit on it! My experience has been quite good. Being a Switch owner who plays 100% portable, graphics sharpness isn't a big problem for me. I'm trying to save the bigger, beefier games for my TV, but I like the option to play this way.
I just got a new phone and Backbone controller so I could play GP on the go (plus my previous phone was 6 years old and really struggling to keep up). Tested it over my wi-fi and was seriously impressed. Still deciding what to dive into, but I know when Diablo IV comes to GP, I'll be spending some time on that if it works well.
The whole situation was overblown, simple as that. It's not a surprise that Microsoft is reviewing titles for rival platforms, because this practice has occured previously. I was cautiously optimistic of what the announcement would be, but it was nothing more than business as usual.
If anything, they drummed up additional viewers to hear Diablo IV is coming to Game Pass, which is pretty awesome if you ask me. As a GP subscriber who largely plays games over the Cloud via mobile, this is a welcome addition.
I can't help but think that all four games will come to the Switch successor at the very least, possibly one or all being launch titles.
@Bionic-Spencer - I’d argue the silence could actually bring more eyes to the upcoming event, shining a bigger spotlight on their vision talks. I guess it all depends on opinion… do we think this ‘slip’ in info was intentional or not? Is this a calculated move to drum up interest for next weeks event?
All I know is my eyes are glued to all Xbox related news in anticipation of the business update.
@Kaloudz - Well said. I’m going into it completely neutral and we’ll see what comes from it. I obviously have my thoughts on it, more so to see how on the mark I am, nothing more.
One thing is certain. The event will likely range from ‘Xbox is doomed’ to ‘This is amazing for the consumer’. 😋
The more I think about it, the more genius the silence is. So many people are now invested in this. What if the business update is nothing more than ‘we’re going 100% digital, here’s a console refresh for this decision, and since we understand physical is still a thing, select titles will come to other consoles?’
This is why developers are so gun shy when releasing video these days, because what is often shown doesn’t always translate to what is actually released. From what I’ve seen, Avowed is a very promising title that still appears to be getting polished up in time for release.
I’d rather see these Developer Directs for games still being worked on than nothing at all.
@Kaloudz - How crazy if their business update came at the same time as the incoming Nintendo Direct? I mean, is there a reason the rumors are only on PS5 and not Nintendo? Making up stuff with no evidence is fun. 😂
I have a strange feeling that Xbox is on the verge of a very original business plan. It sounds like GP is earning Microsoft quite a bit of coin, so why not after a period of exclusivity put them on other consoles where it makes sense? An Xbox Series S/X is still a very approachable way to play AAA games, so I think the consoles still have a place in the market. I mean, we sort of see it now with console exclusives to PC, is it really hard to imagine a world w/ first party console for GP to competing console later? Can’t wait to see what comes out of the business update event.
I’m thinking future base consoles will be digital only with a removable/external disc drive similar to PS5s newest model. It just makes sense at this stage of the industry.
I’m guessing Indy releasing in 2024 will depend on whether development continues as expected. If they hit enough time goals, they’ll narrow it down. My money is on November.
Really liked the DD. While Ara doesn’t suit my gaming preferences, the rest of them I could see myself playing through.
I’m happy to see the relationship between Square Enix and Microsoft getting stronger, but this title felt underwhelming in comparison to the rest of the games shown. No doubt it will be good and fans of the Mana series will eat it up. Will be watching for updates over the coming months.
I was disappointed at first when I saw the first person perspective because my heart was set on a third person action adventure game, but the more they showed, the more it won me back. Looks amazing!

Started Chicory but never got around to finishing it. Maybe I'll pick it up on the Switch if I can't make the time to get back to it on GP
