Re: Three Games Announced In 24 Hours As GameMill Unveils New Lineup Of Xbox Releases

@KITG_Group_BrunoB

hot wheels unleashed is great. I wouldn't really trust this one by gamemill though. They seem to slap low-effort licensed games together as quickly as possible.

I think the hot wheels unleashed franchise is one of the best arcade racers out there. It has hundreds of cars. The tracks are not limiting or "on rails" at all. They actually have some of the best track design out there. You can even create your own or play user created tracks giving you endless possibilities.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Hoping To See At Gamescom 2025?

BacklogBrad

My expectations are pretty low for the show. I dont expect anything too crazy to be revealed. This seems like a good spot for previously revealed games, indie/AA or those titles that are somewhere between AA and the marquee AAA games.

I would welcome another entry in Sniper Ghost Warrior, Valkyria Chronicles, etc. My hail mary is pumpkin jack 2. I play the first one every Halloween and a new one in time for Halloween would be sweet.

I am also waiting to get a look at the new tomb raider but not sure if that would be here. I really want to know what direction it takes.

Re: Talking Point: Is Forza Horizon About To Become Xbox's Main Forza Franchise?

BacklogBrad

I hope not, both are great. Both serve very different means. Both games are kind of stuck in their formulaic gameplay though. I'm worried about the future of both of them.

IRacing has kind of taken over the Sim racing world as the clear leader. Forza horizon has changed very little even from the fifth iteration all the way to the original. It is still fun but each time a little less so.

Re: EA Rejected The Idea Of 'Dragon Age 1-3 Remastered'

BacklogBrad

I liked the dragon age games but I dont think I would be interested in replaying them all in a remaster collection.

It's one of those cases where any remaster wouldnt be enough of an upgrade to justify a repurchase at full price. The originals hold up just fine and can be had at $1.99 - $3.99.

Re: Xbox Is Officially 'Stopping' Development On First-Party Game Contraband

BacklogBrad

Not really shocking. It seems safe to assume this game was facing some serious development issues like the other cancelations.

It is another case of xbox needlessly showing us a tease for a game way too early. Hopefully now that they have a legitimate pipeline of games they won't ever be so desperate to fill out a showcase that we get concepts of games. Can't really blame xbox because they were hurting so bad for games at the time but they are currently sitting pretty on that front.

Re: Talking Point: Battlefield 6 Or Black Ops 7, Which Xbox FPS Are You Looking Forward To Most?

BacklogBrad

I am looking forward to Battlefield 6 but Black Ops 7 launching on gamepass is hard to beat. I know I will play call of duty on GP, not sure if I'm buying battlefield at launch yet. Depending on how i like the beta and how the reception is at launch, I might end up waiting for the gamepass addition whenever EA puts it in EA play.

Battlefield 2042 got to a really good place, it will be interesting to see where this one is at launch.

Re: Rumour: Sony Is Planning To Bring More PS5 Games To Xbox

BacklogBrad

I am betting the older big titles come over sooner than others. Spider man 1 and miles morales would be the most logical choices but I could see last of us 1, uncharted collection, ratchet and clank, or Horizon zero dawn too.

It makes no sense to keep these older games exclusive at this point. They have run their course on playstation. Sell them for $70 on xbox and if even 5% of xbox users buy them you are talking a pretty big return. There is more potential for sales on xbox than there is in the endless remaster cycle they have had for these games.

If you aren't trying to get as many sales as possible then what is the point of doing multiplat at all? The big games are the ones that will do that.

Re: Talking Point: So, What Other PS5 Games Do You Want To See Come To Xbox?

BacklogBrad

I would expect the ones that have the most potential to sell copies will be the priority. I would have to think spiderman, the last of us, uncharted, etc.

Their current pc approach will probably be the model for xbox/nindy eventually. Approximately one year alone on playstation and then a shift to everywhere else. They probably tighten that exclusivity window up as time goes on.

Re: Talking Point: As A Game Pass Subscriber, Do You Still Spend Money In Xbox Sales?

BacklogBrad

I buy xbox games that have the play anywhere functionality and are on sale. I'm not interested in games that are locked to the single console device. If all games were play anywhere, xbox would be my preferred store.

Otherwise pc is currently the preferred platform, i spend plenty of money on steam/epic and GOG. That's where I buy all playstations games too.

Gamepass doesn't prevent me from spending way more than I should on "owning" games

Re: Xbox Hardware Isn't Dead But 'Big Changes' Are Coming, Says Digital Foundry

BacklogBrad

@Millionski the whole "why would they even bother competing with (product x)?" is the most anti-innovation take ever. Thankfully xbox isn't thinking that way.

Having a better pc store where all the xbox store games are natively playable on a very capable console, pc/pc handheld, and streaming is a very appealing prospect. That is why gamepass is one of my favorite things in gaming, I can play the same save seamlessly in my office on the high end rig, on the sofa of the living room, in bed or traveling on my Rog Ally, etc.

They don't need to overtake steam (that would never happen) but they can live along side it just like Epic and GOG do. Just like they already do with Nintendo and Playstation, they dont have a realistic chance of overtaking either of them. It would really just be merging the gaming portion of the windows store into the xbox app and making the xbox games compatible which they seem to be doing.

Steam is rumored to be working on a "console" as well. I don't get why people would want xbox to limit itself to one device, give me as many ways as possible to buy games everywhere.

(Of course, the biggest threat to Microsoft is losing the windows stronghold as market leading OS. They need to fend off Steam OS, Linux, etc. Xbox can help them do that.)

Re: Xbox Is Using The Most Ridiculous AI Image To Advertise New Jobs

BacklogBrad

It's not actually microsoft or xbox sharing this image. Its one person on his personal LinkedIn account. Is it a bad pic? Yes, but we can't treat this dudes LinkedIn profile as an official xbox or MS ad. Honestly, doesn't sound too bad to work for this guy, he probably wouldn't notice you taking it easy on the clock.

This would have happened with or without layoffs. This is a pretty long reach to try to connect the two. It probably would have happened with or without the massive AI investment from Microsoft.

Re: Roundup: Here's What The 'Ready Or Not' Reviews Are Saying Ahead Of Its Xbox Release

BacklogBrad

The recent steam reviews (over 21 thousand reviews) have it at "mostly negative" but the overall (over 200 thousand reviews) is still "very positive."

Apparently the console release forced them to censor the game on pc as well and pc players are considering this a worse version of the game. Im not sure if I will play this one yet but censoring a game everywhere because one specific region or platform requires it always bugs me.
