Xbox Adds Sounds To PC & ROG Xbox Ally Dashboard For A More Console-Like Experience

There's been a lot of speculation surrounding the next Xbox console about how Microsoft seemingly wants to unify the Xbox experience across multiple devices including console, PC, handheld and Xbox Cloud Gaming, and this latest development for the Xbox PC app appears to be taking another step closer to achieving exactly that.

As part of a new update for the Xbox PC app last night, users quickly discovered that new sounds had been added to its dashboard, and the majority (if not all) of those sounds appear to have crossed over from the dashboard on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.

You can have a listen to them in the clip below:

Many have pointed out that this is probably more focused around the ROG Xbox Ally than anything — flicking through the dashboard on Xbox's new handheld device now feels more console-like for sure, and these sounds will undoubtedly help make that system feel more familiar to traditional Xbox fans out of the box.

We assume there's still more work to be done in this area, especially considering how the Xbox Cloud Gaming dashboard recently got a major design refresh. It's been suggested that the Xbox Full-Screen Experience UI on the Xbox Ally will be implemented in the next Xbox console, and there's definitely still room for improvement with it.
