We'll have a full roundup of everything coming to Xbox next week very soon, and one of the games that may catch your eye is Echoes of the End - a "breathtaking" new fantasy adventure releasing for Xbox Series X and S on August 12th.
You can see 17 minutes' worth of footage for this one up above (although the combat has since been updated - more about that below), with the game said to "blend a deeply personal, character-driven story with thrilling magic and sword-based combat, engaging traversal and thought-provoking puzzles".
The title is being developed by Myrkur Games, which is an Icelandic studio that was only established in 2016, and it's being published by Deep Silver - known for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Dead Island 2 and many other big releases.
Intriguing stuff, then! As far as we can tell, there are no reviews for Echoes of the End just yet, and the combat was even adjusted recently in response to concerned fans - you can see the "Combat Update Showcase" video down below.
We'll also leave you with some more details on the game, along with screenshots. There is an official Xbox Store page for Echoes of the End already, but pre-orders aren't available and there's no word on a price just yet.
"Step into the shoes of Ryn, a vestige wielding volatile yet powerful magic, as she battles to save her brother from a ruthless totalitarian empire. Partner with Abram Finlay - a scholar and explorer haunted by his past - to uncover a conspiracy that could reignite an ancient conflict and plunge Aema into chaos. Immerse yourself in a heartfelt tale of trust, redemption, and sacrifice in a world on the edge of war."

I'll definitely be keeping my eye on the reviews for this one. If this is the first game the studio has produced, it maybe a little rough around the edges, so rather than pre-order, as I tend to do, I shall see what other people think of it first. Let them test it out for me... π
If this was 20 years ago there would be no question and I would have the time to play it. Definitely something right up my alley but I have no time atm ππ
Currently re-running E33 at the moment, but if this is well received, I might make it my next project.
How have I never heard of this game? Looks pretty great
Quite interested in this! Some of the gameplay/movement is a bit stiff, but it could easily be a great game. Letβs see what the reviews say
I feel like this could be a sleeper hit, similarly to Banishers last year. Iβll be keeping my eye on this β I hope it reviews well.
@Questionable_Duck No kidding, most of my daily reading is nerd/ gaming sites and I've never heard of this.
Looks a little rough, but like it might be a fun game.
