I played the heck out of it, loved my time with it. Finally started dropping out of my rotation about 6 months ago. And you could tell the same was true for others as multiplayer was getting a bit thin so I'm happy it's about to get a fresh boost of active players.
I have my rewards auto redeem for a $10 Xbox store card every month. I play a lot of cheap, casual games so I can usually get a game or two with it each month.
Talk about sticker shock! If I was MS, I'd plan a big Xbox ad campaign to start a week or so before PS5P launch and price drop S/X, even just $50 less than current price.
New word seems to be it's not Forza. That being said, we're talking about a 4 yr old game. I'm fine with them making some extra money of it while they can. It will get delisted in a few yrs anyway, so if you played it on Xbox you had much longer to enjoy it. I've played it to exhaustion, like most on Xbox probably already have.
On that note, at this point in the games lifespan, there's noticeably fewer ppl playing it online so a fresh influx of players with crossplay isn't the worst idea.
Awesome! I'll definitely jump on the Kinect games on this list. Hope more games go on sale before closure. Come on, capitalist pigs... TAKE MY MONEY π°
Untitled Goose Game 2 shadow dropped into GamePass
A Sega partnership for Shenmue remake
Tecmo partnership for DOAX remake (the first was the best)
More backward compatible titles
3D Blu ray support so I can watch the Way of Water the way it was intended. (I have a 3D projector and last gen supported 3D, so I do still have my XOX).
Now for the real pie sky.....
Kinect backward compatibility π«£π
I just upgraded from One X to Series X, mainly because the loading times in Forza Horizon 5 had become unbearable. The super quick load times on SX have helped me fall back in love with FH. I'll keep a One around for full backward compatibility, but glad to move on up.
I've played a few hours now. So far, it's okay. I'm still uncertain what the heck is going on in the overall story (especially the strange bits). And the main actor's terrible wigs are a distraction lol.
So far, I'd say I enjoyed Telling Lies more but we'll see how I feel after finishing.
Happy for them! Tho 2025 for 007?! Dang. Hope we get Hitman 4 first, then. Or they could go the Mario Kart 8 route and just do years of DLC.
Speaking of DLC, I would love costumes! Halloween Ends is coming out, where's a Micheal Myers outfit? Stalking Whittleton Creek would be that much more fun.
I really enjoyed Telling Lies. The story's culmination was a bit wonky but I was pretty enthralled going thru footage, piecing things together. The keyword search for related videos was genius.
While we're talking about the maps, any feelings on the day/night cycles duration? Like, for FH5, nighttime is gorgeous but lasts only a few minutes it feels. I wish it was twice as long. It's also the perfect nighttime lighting. FH3 was pitch black at night, I'd be straining my eyes to see the road lol
@JayJ I agree generally, tho they did expand this latest Hot Wheels map to have some more off track exploration. I will say I did love careening through a field of Legos, the sound of them flying through the air. That put a smile on my face. But the map was a bit small.
Pie in the sky scenario: A new Series console, Series R or other letter, that's basically Switch style, but with a souped up dock. So it would have the power of Series X when docked and Series S when handheld.
@rhyno_888 there are still a number of games only on 360 market. Eternal Sonata, basically all Kinect titles (unless it had the option to use a controller, ala Child of Eden) and others that didn't make the backward compatible program. I still buy games there regularly.

Re: Talking Point: Xbox Fans, How Are You Getting On With Microsoft Rewards In 2025?
Still easily earning my $10 Xbox card a month so no complaints βΊοΈ
Re: Here's How The New Xbox Prices Compare To PS5 & Nintendo Switch 2
Looking forward to Stephanie Sterling ripping MS (and the rest of the industry) to shreds over this. The tariffs are dog π© but prices have been increasing and at the end of the day it's just unchecked capitalistic greed.
Hiking the price of 5 year old hardware?! GTFO.
Re: Poll: As Forza Horizon 5 Cruises To PS5, Are You Still Playing It On Xbox?
I played the heck out of it, loved my time with it. Finally started dropping out of my rotation about 6 months ago. And you could tell the same was true for others as multiplayer was getting a bit thin so I'm happy it's about to get a fresh boost of active players.
Re: Talking Point: What Should Microsoft Call The '2027' Xbox Console & Handheld?
@Foxx_64740 honestly, a smart way of redifining the "generations" to get on equal footing. I'd listen to this pitch if I were an MS exec.
Throwing my hat in the ring for a another likely confusing nomenclature, home console is Xbox Terra and handheld is Xbox Orbit.

Re: Indiana Jones And The Great Circle Hits Xbox This December, And A PS5 Port Is Officially Coming
@GotRedOnMe73 Agreed. I just prefer Xbox. So as long as there is one, I'll get it.

Too late, my hopes are sky high π plz give us JSRF, whether remaster or backcompat

Re: Talking Point: Have Xbox Series X|S Dynamic Backgrounds Lived Up To The Hype?
They definitely lean disappointing. Most seem like HQ gifs. I appreciate the heritage ones, tho they usually look a bit gaudy to me.
The one I've kept on my dash for months is the Pentiment one. Nice art and decently noticable movement.
Re: Talking Point: Is Local Co-Op On Xbox Still Important To You In 2024?
I love local coop. Still regularly play Fusion Frenzy, Overcooked, Jackbox. If Xbox had a good kart racer, ala Mario Kart, I'd be all over that.
Re: 1950s Mystery Game 'This Bed We Made' Is Getting A Second Wind On Xbox Right Now
I played it recently. It wasn't bad, I'd give it 3/5. It clearly had a small budget with stiff character animations and a bit janky movement.
Re: Talking Point: Is There A Place For 'Snap Mode' On Xbox In 2024?
One of those features that was ahead of it's time, dropped but should absolutely be revived. I remember loving it on XO and would welcome it back.
Re: Original 'S Model' Xbox Controller Returns For Series X|S This August
I'd love one... If it were wireless.
Re: Talking Point: If Halo Infinite Is Finished, Where Should The Franchise Go From Here?
Remake/reboot of Halo 1 (maybe combined with Halo 2) in UE5.
Re: Talking Point: What Dream Reveal Would You Like To See At The Xbox Games Showcase 2024?
Forza Horizon 6 is definitely at the top of my list. Psychonauts 3, new Jet Set Radio trailer, a Left for Dead 2 remake, a DoaX remake π

Re: PS1-Style Horror Game 'Crow Country' Is Launching On Xbox To Amazing Reviews
Yeah, I'd probably wait for GP.
That said, more games need Exploration Mode!!!
Re: Talking Point: What Did You Think Of The Xbox Kinect?
I still enjoy Kinect games. Got lots of play out of Sports/Rivals, Dance Central and more. I do wish either version was back compat.
Xbox Fitness was awesome, as others have pointed out.
Re: Talking Point: What Have You Bought In The Xbox Countdown Sale 2023?
Alan Wake 2... Which considering how much of a scaredy cat I am we'll see how long it takes me to beat it π
Re: The Crew Motorfest Is Getting A Lengthy Free Trial This Month, Alongside An Xbox Discount
I definitely didn't give it a fair shot. But still, played for 10 minutes, said I'll head back to horizon, thank you. π

@Clyde_Radcliffe Agreed. Bit of a nothing trailer.

Microsoft: We'll show them

Really dug Limbo and Inside so I'm down
Re: Xbox Adds More Perks For Game Pass Ultimate Members (October 2022)
First they insult us with GwG, now Spiral?! UGH! On the other hand, Spiral was kind of so bad it was good so if you like that, I say go for it.
Re: 15 Years Ago Today, Halo 3's Phenomenal 'Believe' Marketing Campaign Began
A phenomenal ad campaign that I rewatch periodically. Everything I want a Halo film/was show to give me.

Played it again a few weeks ago with friends and had so much fun! Definitely scratches the Fall Guy itch and better in some ways.

I'd buy it.
Re: Deals: All Backwards Compatible Games In This Week's Xbox Sales (July 12-19)
@InterceptorAlpha I wish Microsoft would give Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon some love and drop them into Gamepass. They deserve more attention.
