It doesn't do anything particularly amazing. It's just... kinda generic.

Even for a beat em up it's repetitive. And doesn't throw enough enemy types at you. Also the monetization is crazy. They're selling £15 skins on the games market. Way too much for a small game like this.

Games being more expensive just means that the big AAA flops are going to be even more common and more disastrous. The industry surely cannot sustain $100,000,000+ game budgets anymore?

Towerborne is almost my dream idea for a game. A beat em up with skills, classes, upgrades, loot and gear, randomized levels.
But as typical I get monkey pawed.

It's core gameplay is quite average. The combat doesn't blow me away, the art style and presentation of the game is a little too 'D.E.I Soy coded' and on Xbox there's quite a noticeable amount of input latency. Devs always have v-sync turned on in console versions for some reason.

You want a beat em up to be seen as responsive, smooth and snappy. Not sluggish, delayed and a little stiff.

Oh and the micro transaction paid skins are ludicrous prices £13+. Not a chance Microsoft.

It was pretty fun on switch. It can only be better on Xbox at higher FPS and resolutions.

That's my point. They can't create anything relevant or successful. Redfall flopped, nobody cares about Star field even. Came and went. They can claim Starfield was a success but nobody cares about that game at all.

And all they had to do was buy out decade old popular franchises like Minecraft and Call of Duty for billions!

The difficulty scaling is atrocious.

Adept = brain-dead baby mode
Expert = impossible tedious mode

They made Expert 3x damage taken and 0.5x damage dealt. In a single difficulty level. Ridiculous. Mods on pc already available to fix this but I'm on XBOX! Frankly, this is unplayable and I'm uninstalling LOL

I refuse to believe there are real in real life people that actually choose Quality modes over performance modes.

You can lend, borrow and RESELL the digital games on the carts.

Can you do that with a digital purchase on Xbox? No.

The Switch 2 edition upgrades are included free if you have a NSO Expansion pass which most people will have. It's like not having Game Pass and an Xbox. Unlikely, you'll have the subscription for online anyway.

Game pass and subscription sites confuse things. It's like the death of buying music and moving onto streaming.

The game doesn't even resemble MH anymore. It's sad to see how streamlined and casualised the franchise has become.

This generation is the first generation where I just simply don't see the need for a new console any time soon.

Who is really going to be thinking "yeah my Series X isn't enough" for the current crop of games? A Series X will almost certainly carry you to 2030 at least. Why would anyone need more? This generation of software has probably been the worst ever.
