I remember finding the right button prompts to play a demo of metal wolf chaos before it came stateside. Good times.

Ms/xbox needs to do better with their certification process, so games are on the same version across platforms. I believe, correct me if I'm wrong, some games on xbox/xbox pc are behind on patches and version numbers.

When/if console previews/reviews are good, I'll be playing the opening segments in quality mode. Then when the action picks up balanced I will go. If things arent looking so hot, I'll wait for patches and updates, and go for resident evil requiem.

There is no way the new console will be cheaper than an rog xbox ally x($1000+). I dont see pc players forgoing upgrading their rigs for this. I dont see people who have a limited budget paying an exorbitant price for this. This is definitely falling into the diehard fanboys with disposable income territory.

And thats why I stopped caring about the rewards. Just wasn't worth the time and effort anymore. It went from a natural progression and accumulation of points, to a chore(did you miss a day? Did you play the right amount of game pass games and for the right length of time?).

I dont get the point of this new xbox. If they release it 2027, ps6 isnt out til 2029(supposedly), and unless they have exclusives in development or locked up from third party devs, its gonna be a bunch of current gen games. A more powerful and expensive console/pc hybrid to play older games at higher frames and resolutions isnt enough, for me at least, to purchase a new console. Also, it has to be equal in power and price to a prebuilt. Hopefully more is announced soon because this isnt sounding too hopeful.

@Fiendish-Beaver crimson desert on xbox has the play anywhere tag. I'd get it there so you can play a pc version while waiting for the console version to catch up. That's where I'll be getting it after, hopefully, some positive console previews/reviews.

I've had 4 runs, so far, and I've been downed at evac site 3/4 times, but I was still able to extract so long as i stayed in the designated area. I believe the first-person perspective helps prevent ambushes from other players hiding around a corner or behind cover, etc. The shells are interesting, catering to different play styles. The free kit is a nice touch, allows me to stack gear and ammo before my next run. The time to kill is a bit short, especially if you dont have a proper shield. I agree the ui is somewhat convoluted, but it's a fun time killer. Will i be buying it at launch? I need more time to figure that out.

Im just hoping this collection is available for download and not just LRG.

At least make first-party games a timed exclusive, with some console only perks(skins, etc.). And try to buy some like Sony has. Albeit, maybe not for a year. 6mo is good. Also, if ms studio devs are gonna make things for the pssr, shouldn't they at least try to make the Xbox version somewhat comparative, if not better? For example, it wouldn't be a good look hearing "the best place to play forza horizon 6 is on the ps5pro."

First, figure out your identity and relay that to the consumer. Are you all in on third party development? Will xbox be the best place to play some/most games? Is acquiring studios to stuff game pass a priority over developing new gaming stories and experiences? Second, lower the cost of consoles to allow more people to purchase and play on your devices. Third, focus more on the games than little improvements to the dashboard/pc user experience. Allowing for more backwards compatibility and third party games is a lot better than "new sounds for pc" or a focus on "higher resolution cloud gaming."

If ms/xbox drop a next-gen console sooner rather than later, and Sony decides to wait til 2029(or later), what does that mean for the games? I dont think xbox first party studios, or other third party studios for that matter, will make games solely for the new console, because they would want to maximize profits and release it on ps5/sw2. Does that mean new hardware costing upwards of $1500 will be playing old/recent games at higher resolutions and frames? Cause that is definitely not worth the cost to most consumers.

I dont know how to feel about this. Some games were released, some canceled, and some studios closed. He championed backwards compatibility and cross-play, he ushered in the era of game pass(for better or worse). How would most grade his tenure?

Good, optimize what we already have. From ps3/360 to the ps4/xbone to the ps5/xbsx|s have seen the graphics and experiences almost plateau. Hence why many users are still on ps4s, why so many games are still cross-gen, etc. Unless they can show something other than slightly better graphics and frames, the next-gen consoles seem like a fool's errand for everyone involved.

What will the next console gen offer besides multiple integrated storefronts and slightly better graphics and frames? I honestly can't think of any reason to buy a next-gen console. Its not like forza horizon 5 was vastly better than 4. The last of us 2 ps4 looked very similar to the ps5 remaster. And rdr2 is still considered one of the better games made(graphically and gameplay-wise) and it's a 2018 game.

I hope they are able to bring the whole pc experience to existing series x' via a future download/patch/etc. That would be a good step towards fixing their image, after such a poor effort this gen. Then the series x could be their low powered console for next-gen.

It didn't meet sales targets because it was on game pass. A majority of users aren't gonna buy it after playing it. And non-users are gonna wait for a sale if they want it. Also, none of those games were console movers or a reason to sign-up for game pass.

1.3M downloads, if purchased would be $20M+. I doubt their initial offer from ms to put the game on game pass was anywhere near that amount. Also, dont know if they would've gotten that reach/exposure without it. It's a double-edged sword situation. Hopefully it gives them future success without the lost sales from game pass.

When you have nothing to offer, raise prices on consoles AND game pass no wonder things are down. Xbox is like a restaurant with crap food that raises prices and only accepts reservations, who would go?

I played through and finished the campaign. That was it. Haven't picked it up or reinstalled it since.

As a fan since the first xbox, I can honestly say im indifferent to the new one. Upon release, to stand a chance, it has to be cheaper than the steam machine and other prebuilt pcs. If not, other than hardcore fanboys, who would buy one? Its not like there are games that you can ONLY PLAY on an xbox.

Its a rhythm game, and i hate to say it, but its not on game pass. So its reach is very limited.

Can a "play anywhere" game be removed from the program, hence losing access? Or once its apart of the program its for good?

Also, because of xbox/ms' certification process, will I be playing a game that's an a older version than its steam counterpart?

Are the marvel ultimate alliance games not backwards compatible?

No game pass of any level for me. My primary way of playing Xbox games is disc or digital backlog. And for multiplayer games I try to buy the ones that are play anywhere(ie arc raiders) so I can play online on my laptop for free.

I love my series s for what it is. With its size, I can combine it with a portable monitor and battery pack, my phone's hotspot and I'm gaming while camping, amongst the trees. Just not with horror games...at night...amongst said trees.

I can't help but think of the Simpsons when I see so many work simulators. Bus driver, power wash, etc. They predicted it, once again.🤣🤣

Highguard has a tough hill to climb. It has to convince singleplayer users that its something worth playing, then it has to pry multiplayer gamers away from whatever they're playing(arc raiders, cod, fortnite, apex, bf6, etc.). I dont see a positive outcome for the game. At least its f2p, but how many users does it need to keep the servers up and running?

I think the unforeseen problem from the closures/cancelations is when they do make a game, they may skip any and all xbox consoles out of spite.

Also, why can't these guys just create something on a smaller scale to what they envision, either by themselves or with a smaller dev team? Imagine if the former ubi devs were like, "Oh, we're fired. Let's pack it up and start a different career path." Then we would've never gotten clair obscur.

With rewards I was able to get arc raiders("play anywhere" is nice because online is free on pc) and mass effect trilogy.

It feels like the acquisitions were for the companies catalogs of games(to stuff game pass) not what they could produce in the future. To me, at least.

Release date trailers for 2026. That's it. No announcement trailers for something 3 years down the line(that may never be seen again).

The series s WAS great for what it was. A cheap way to get your foot in the door of next-gen($299). But now at the price they are asking($399) why wouldn't u spend more($50) for a switch 2 with exclusives and portability? Or the same and get a ps5 digital that runs the same games but better? Hell you could get a 5050 laptop(which is better than the desktop card) for a bit more. The series s at its current price point has no redeeming qualities.

Got this at launch. Great game. Gameplay is very gow-like.

Watch the ps5 get a timed exclusive release because of the whole xbox series x|s parity situation, ala baldur's gate iii.

A Sony exec said that the ps5 is midway through its lifespan. If that is true then a 2028-29 would be when we start seeing specs/trailers/rumors/etc.

Ever since I got my switch, then steam deck, I found myself gaming on devices more so than the dedicated home consoles. Sitting on the couch in front of the TV, playing games now seem like an event. While grabbing a device and gaming for an hour or 15 mins seems less arduous. Also, a device allows the tv to spew your favorite podcast, show while gaming. Maybe it's the life we live now, consuming media in shorter but many more bursts, instead of one long session; multiple screens, etc.

I canceled. I was using rewards but decided to just use my last points on dying light the beast. Also, i wasnt using it to is fullest. Rarely played any games on the catalog, or even played multiplayer.
