So, I searched for the enhanced edition, found the free trial tab. But when I click it, it takes me to the game's store page with no option to download the trial. Is this just a bug on the US store, or am I missing something?

I have 55k reward points. So i wont get it at launch. Will wait til I have 80k-100k to get it for free. Also, i wouldn't take time off considering Thanksgiving break is right around the corner.

First, it was ms rewards that got me buying xbox digital games. Then along came "play anywhere" which made me consider xbox for a copy, if it was applicable. Now with disc to digital, it's another reason to buy on xbox. Finding out space marine 2 was play anywhere AND disc to digital, awesome! Just popped in my game on the series x, claimed my digital license, and boom now it's on my laptop.

Rumor has it that a pc version will be available the first quarter of 2027. Imagine with the recent xbox/taketwo partnership allows gta vi to become an xbox play anywhere title. One can dream.

Imagine if ms took the actiblizz money and went to all the devs and said, "along with the 3rd party games, *slides cash over.., we'd like some xbox exclusives." $70+B, $1B each to 70 devs, or $500M to 140 devs for exclusives for the remainder of the series x|s generation, and far into the helix life. Would've set them up nicely.

Helix with a disc drive. Helix without(hopefully both have the same power). And then, probably a streaming console. Hence why we're seeing "free tiers with ads" and adding more gaming minutes, etc., being thrown around.

Like I've always said, get rid of ultimate and first party day one releases and essential tier. Because if helix is a "pc", multiplayer will/should be free like other pcs, then charging for online multiplayer for the holdouts on series x|s would be asinine and not within parity sake.

With helix able to play pc versions, why make an xbox version? With the series x|s selling fewer consoles, and people buying fewer games on said consoles, why produce an xbox series x|s version at all? With ms shutting down studios, I thought there might be an after effect where those devs start a new studio and choose to skip the xbox platform, which seems to be the case here. Unless some good will can be earned back, or large sums of cash thrown around, we might see fewer games.

Hopefully ms doesn't shoot themselves in the foot and moan about "console parity", etc.

Sounds like an all digital helix s, and a disc based helix x. So long as the power is the same. And not the debacle of the series consoles.

I started back up, maybe end of june/beginning of July. I've already accumulated 28K pts, without game pass perks/help. Do use on xbox giftcards, or on amazon giftcards to get some switch 2 or ps5 games? First world problems.

I'm sure game pass and ea play has eaten into their digital sales. I know I didnt buy many digital games from ea or xbox, if at all, if they were on game pass.

The month is 2/3 over and still no word on positron, what games it works with, how it works, etc. Was it ever real, or just a rumor started by twatters. I've been postponing buying some games in hopes this was real. It would be another great option to buy on xbox, just like play anywhere.

With games like witcher iii, cyberpunk, elden ring, tears of the kingdom, crimson desert, kingdom come deliverance 1/2, and more, this game has to be something equal to or better than those. Especially considering the time put in. If it's just a prettier version of oblivion or skyrim, with the bethesda jank, that just won't cut it. And it can't be medieval starfield with magic.

I think the disc-to-digital program will be similar to xbox play anywhere. First party games from, xbox one era to present day, will work from the start, then it will be seen which devs opt-in. Unless xbox goes with the "any and all" approach.

On a side note, I wonder if xbox's proprietary memory cards will work on helix.

Xbox play anywhere is one of the couple of reasons I look at games on xbox. And if the rumored "physical to digital" is true then that will be a big reason I buy games, even some older ones, on xbox. But I wonder if that'll work with all games or just certain ones, like play anywhere.

Well, the easiest way forward for the "connection" bullet point would be to make online multiplayer free. Just saiyan.

🫩The sheer ineptitude at ms/xbox. Just shutdown xbox, keep the helix, save your money for the investors. It's not like people care about xbox anymore.

Would it matter if helix had a disc drive if game publishers don't put out a disc version?

Crazy to think awhile back a new series s was being sold on the Instagram store(while it was still up) for $150.

This is just a way for ms to introduce a high price for the helix, and have people be okay with it. "$800 for a last gen console. OR $1100 for new gen pc/console hybrid." Either way, the crash is nigh. Stock up on current and last gen games for your backlog to sustain you til it's over.

It should be far cheaper if it's entirely digital. And ms should cough up the dough to try and make it a "play anywhere" title(but i guess rockstar didnt make a pc version, yet). Might boost console sales.

Now: halo combat evolved needs two online accounts for co-op split screen.

Then: halo 3 allowed 4 player split screen online, 1 account 3 guests.

30 quality, 40 performance(with vrr capable displays).

I'll say it again. Essential should be free multiplayer, zero game pass games. Ultimate should be done away with so they aren't beholden to the "day 1" games. And premium should be the only tier at $15 a month with first party games coming a year later.

I'm more excited for the older games. Just got a notice that brothers-in-arms: hell's highway is on sale for $3.

That's another studio or a set of devs that may not want to do business with ms/xbox in the future.

I've always stated that ms/xbox would've been better served if they used that $69B+ on 69 game studios, and their own, to produce exclusives for this gen and the next. They've used a few games from actiblizz's back catalog for game pass and pc, but not enough.

Sales are going to be low to non-existent, especially if these games are on game pass day 1. Just look at CoD sales as an example. There should be 1 tier of game pass, premium with the games. Essential shouldn't have any library, but makes online multiplayer free. And ultimate should be gone, so they arent beholden to the "ms/xbox day 1 games."

Some contradictory statements. Wants xbox to get closer to it's user base, which would be to retain exclusives. Then says it wants to be number one in the gaming/entertainment business, which would allude to keeping games multiplat. I don't know how you do both, but I'm interested to see what she and xbox come up with.

Timed exclusives on first party games seems to work. Fh5 made a ton on ps5 after releasing a few years after the xb release.

Xbox/ms needs to learn from this. Make games exclusive, or at the least, 1yr exclusivity.

Back in my day, deluxe edition usually included the first dlc or expansion. Now it's just in-game skins, outfits, trinkets, and tchotchkes.
