Halo CE, seeing and experiencing the flood for the first time. Then arbiter in halo 2?! Then the halo 3 live action/diorama ads??? Then Nathan fillion in odst???? Then the campaign and end of reach?????

How were the commercials for halo 3, odst, and reach better than the entire streaming series?!

🫩The sheer ineptitude at ms/xbox. Just shutdown xbox, keep the helix, save your money for the investors. It's not like people care about xbox anymore.

Would it matter if helix had a disc drive if game publishers don't put out a disc version?

Crazy to think awhile back a new series s was being sold on the Instagram store(while it was still up) for $150.

This is just a way for ms to introduce a high price for the helix, and have people be okay with it. "$800 for a last gen console. OR $1100 for new gen pc/console hybrid." Either way, the crash is nigh. Stock up on current and last gen games for your backlog to sustain you til it's over.

It should be far cheaper if it's entirely digital. And ms should cough up the dough to try and make it a "play anywhere" title(but i guess rockstar didnt make a pc version, yet). Might boost console sales.

Now: halo combat evolved needs two online accounts for co-op split screen.

Then: halo 3 allowed 4 player split screen online, 1 account 3 guests.

30 quality, 40 performance(with vrr capable displays).

I'll say it again. Essential should be free multiplayer, zero game pass games. Ultimate should be done away with so they aren't beholden to the "day 1" games. And premium should be the only tier at $15 a month with first party games coming a year later.

I'm more excited for the older games. Just got a notice that brothers-in-arms: hell's highway is on sale for $3.

That's another studio or a set of devs that may not want to do business with ms/xbox in the future.

I've always stated that ms/xbox would've been better served if they used that $69B+ on 69 game studios, and their own, to produce exclusives for this gen and the next. They've used a few games from actiblizz's back catalog for game pass and pc, but not enough.

Sales are going to be low to non-existent, especially if these games are on game pass day 1. Just look at CoD sales as an example. There should be 1 tier of game pass, premium with the games. Essential shouldn't have any library, but makes online multiplayer free. And ultimate should be gone, so they arent beholden to the "ms/xbox day 1 games."

Some contradictory statements. Wants xbox to get closer to it's user base, which would be to retain exclusives. Then says it wants to be number one in the gaming/entertainment business, which would allude to keeping games multiplat. I don't know how you do both, but I'm interested to see what she and xbox come up with.

Timed exclusives on first party games seems to work. Fh5 made a ton on ps5 after releasing a few years after the xb release.

Xbox/ms needs to learn from this. Make games exclusive, or at the least, 1yr exclusivity.

Back in my day, deluxe edition usually included the first dlc or expansion. Now it's just in-game skins, outfits, trinkets, and tchotchkes.

Something about former devs making games similar to what they started out on just doesn't seem to turn out well. Mindseye, calisto protocol, just to name a couple.

Honestly wondeing, did sony have to relicense games to get ps1 games working on the ps2? Why can't we just put an older game disc in our current-gen system and play them? Is relicensing the games strictly for digital sales only?

@nomither6 that's cool. Enjoy them, you do you. For ME, they're just not my cup of tea. I don't look at the achievements/trophy list prior to a game, i don't go out of my way to 100% them, etc.

Maybe it's my time gaming from nes to ps2, where those things didn't happen. Achievements/trophies mean nothing to me. I just play the game.

I've stopped buying games at launch, especially cause MP games don't interest me like they used to, and opted for the used or sales version. I'm sure i am not the only one. I wonder what affect this will have on game sale numbers and future development, because if a game isn't making it's money back will the studio close or future sequels be put on ice?

I bought an xbox one because that's where my friends were playing. But I bought a switch because of botw, and a ps4 because of hzd. But I mainly game on pc/xbsx as of now.

Upgrade the rewards system to what it used to be, reintroduce the discounted yearly game pass subs, get rid of the ultimate tier and the useless perks(fortnite and the in-game skins), and the day one xbox games. Make people buy them. Release them onto the premium tier a year later.

1yr exclusivity. After that, port to other consoles, while giving xbox users perks like giftcard or free dlc. Showing them they're important and appreciated for sticking with the Xbox ecosystem.

On a different note, if the helix is gonna be a pc based system, does that mean free online multiplayer? And if so, is that a perk of the new console only or will it be applied to the series x|s?

6mo to 1yr console exclusivity would be nice. Having the Xbox version be the best version would be nice. Perks exclusive to xbox users would be nice.

They're going to get rid of ultimate and day one releases. Either buy new games or wait 1yr+.

Gta v(at no.7?!), the game has been out for so long the new buyers are people who were too young to buy it before, but are old enough to buy it now.

Halo..halo mcc...halo campaign evolved. Gears of war...gears remastered...gears reloaded. Definitely taking a page from sony, remastering/remaking the same game, instead of the ones we want(fallout 3/nv). Or at least releasing games from the back catalog that we want(transformers war/fall, marvel ultimate alliance, ultimate spiderman, etc.). My opinion, that's all.

I hope there are more expedition-like missions compared to fh5. Those moments were jaw dropping, but few and far between.

Announcement trailers should have pre-alpha gameplay. Then another full fledged gameplay trailer. Lastly, a release date trailer. Thats it. Look at the bullshyte sod3, elder scrolls vi, and kotor remake announcement trailers. Did nothing but build resentment for not showing anything, being too far out, etc.

A great game and story, but some optimization and smoother framerates would be great.

Whatever momentum they THINK xbox has is gone as soon as those games release on ps. Play the game first on gamepass, or play the better looking game on the ps5pro. Get a better feel with the dualsense, etc. But hey, at least we get fortnite club and old ubisoft games!

If asha is serious about "returning to xbox's roots," the best thing she could do is bring back $60 a year for online gaming only. People want to play online, most don't care about the gamepass catalog.

It was fun while it lasted. Good thing I have a large backlog(200+ on xbox, 50+ on ps, 50+ on nin, 70+ on steam) and plenty of current gen(and older) games to buy/play. I definitely won't be paying $900+ to play spiderman 2 remastered or gears re-re-re-reloaded at 1440p uprezzed to 4k at 60fps, or whatever nonsense they're going to use to sell the new consoles. Hell, I remember when my ps5(base) came with 8k advertised on it.

Is the marvel maximum collection available on the xbone? Or is it a series only game?

If they're smart and truly believe in game preservation they would find some way to play physical games on the helix. Whether a built-in disc drive or an optional attachment. Unless they're going to allow all the physical games one owns to be transferred over to a digital version.

I remember finding the right button prompts to play a demo of metal wolf chaos before it came stateside. Good times.

Ms/xbox needs to do better with their certification process, so games are on the same version across platforms. I believe, correct me if I'm wrong, some games on xbox/xbox pc are behind on patches and version numbers.

When/if console previews/reviews are good, I'll be playing the opening segments in quality mode. Then when the action picks up balanced I will go. If things arent looking so hot, I'll wait for patches and updates, and go for resident evil requiem.
