I've had a few weeks away from gaming (nice weather and kids make for not much gaming time) and it gave me time to think about what I wanted to play for the rest of the year (and possibly into 2026). So I had a look at my Xbox history, and picked out all the games that I've started and felt like I've not given a fair shot, the games I've started and just dropped for whatever reason and not gone back to, and the stuff in my backlog that's still sitting around.
A bit of a mess around with chatGPT, and I've now got 13 blocks of games to work through that should clear the dreaded backlog!
I started on Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty last weekend, didn't get very far before I decided it wasn't the game for me, so switched to Tom Clancy's The division instead ( I played both Division games back on PS4 but I'm looking forward to going through them again ) so it'll be that this weekend and looking to start Control Ultimate edition as well.
I suffered a gruesome looking injury yesterday while cooking and have now lost the use of the middle finger on my right hand due to strapping/bandages. So unfortunately I'll be getting zero game time in this weekend.
I did have plans to crack on with WRC & have a look at Ninja Gaiden Black though.
I'm winding down my gaming leading up to Christmas, I'll jump back into it fully in the new year (with 2 kids and work right up to Christmas eve, there's not a lot of time for it and I like to have a bit of a detox from it all at this time of year, fresh start for the new year and all that)
I did manage to finish the Quarry last weekend (with 30mins to spare before it left gamepass) and since then I've occasionally dipped into either EA Sports FC 24, EA Sports PGA Tour or EA Sports WRC, all in short bursts.
Happy gaming and Merry Christmas to one and all! 👍👍
I played through the career mode at launch, but got bored pretty quickly. I've fired it up twice since and played a little online, but it hasn't hooked me. I much prefer the horizon games.
Finished Jusant during the week, which was a nice chilled game. Started WWE 2K23 and working through the showcase mode, but I'm not sure if I like it or not yet.
Will also have the occasional hour on FC 24 & PGA Tour Golf.
I plan on finishing Jusant and starting MyRise on WWE 2K23, will also sprinkle in some EA Sports FC 24 (I miss just writing FIFA) and some EA Sports PGA Tour Golf.
But perhaps more importantly the final of Euro 2024 is tomorrow and England are involved!
I never expected it before the tournament and even less so during, given some of the awful performances England have put in. But I'm all in for it, and crossing my fingers the Bellingham, Foden & Co can bring the trophy home!!!
@Dan1283 I don't think he's clueless, more stubborn. He wants to play the same way as the last Euro's but the personnel is different. You have to adapt to your players strengths (to a degree) and think Southgate is capable of that but is hindering himself by not wanting to tinker with his formula.
I gave a list of games last week that I was planning to look at through June. Open roads was on that list, but I just couldn't get on with it, so that got kicked out pretty quickly. Then I saw that the bookwalker was leaving gamepass and decided to look at that too - same story as Open Roads for me unfortunately.
That has kind of killed my optimism for trying something new at the moment so I've gone back to EA Sports PGA tour for a while.
The only other game on this list that held any interest for me is Bramble, but I played through that last month. I recommend playing through it before it goes though!
I think they're going to introduce a price hike for the ultimate tier at least, and then a mid tier where you get the "Day 1" releases after a certain amount of time.
Didn't really play much during the week. But finished Harold Halibut last night. I've played a couple of rounds of Fall Guys today whilst I decide what to start next. Any suggestions?
Harold Halibut for me. Looking to finish it this weekend. I'm up to Chapter 3. It's not a great game, but something about it has made me stick with it so far.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 8-9)
I gonna try and finish Halo Reach, and get get started on Halo 3 ODST.
I'm moving house in 4 weeks so I'm aiming to get those 2 done before the inevitable long phase of packing begins.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 18-19)
I'll be checking out the arc raiders server slam tonight. After that, who knows?
Happy gaming everyone 👍👍
Re: These 12 Games Are Coming To Xbox Game Pass (October 8-21)
Not the dump of AAA games that some people were looking for.
I will at least be having a look at the casting of Frank Stone and Ninja Gaiden 4.
The rest I don't care about.
Re: Two Games Are Available Today With Xbox Game Pass (October 7)
@Tdx I agree.
I don't think it will happen though.
Re: Xbox Game Pass Premium May Be The Best-Value Tier Right Now, With Almost 50 Games Added
I'm subscribed to ultimate through my mobile contract so I'm tied in until mid 2027. I'll re-assess what's best for me then.
For now, I'm just going to enjoy what I have.
(Although there's not much gaming going on for me at the moment, just not feeling it 😐)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (August 23-24)
The following are the games I've been playing this last week;
Neon Abyss - Dropped it, ok in shorts bursts, 5/10 for me.
Descenders - Enjoying this one, but getting frustrated when you can hit a certain boss jump on the career runs even if you've done it previously, 7/10
Brotato - Dropped, played a couple of runs, but no real desire to play any longer, 6/10.
Powerwash Simulator - Dropped, same as Brotato, no desire to play, but not a bad game by any means 7/10
Crash Bandicoot N.Sane trilogy -Dropped, frustrating as hell, reminded me why I didn't like the Crash games back in the PS1 days, 4/10
(These ratings, to be clear, are based on enjoyability for me and nothing else, because that's the only important part of a game for me 🙂)
Batch 2 is as follows (with Descenders included)
Lonely mountains snow riders
Go mecha ball
Golf with your friends
Wreckfest
TMNT Mutants unleashed
EA Sports PGA Golf.

Block 1/13 is:
Neon Abyss
Descenders
Brotato
Powerwash Simulator
Crash Bandicoot N.Sane trilogy
The plan is to play each game until they're finished or I find it an absolute chore to play. Hoping to be done by the end of the year 🤣
Re: Seven Games Are Leaving Xbox Game Pass In Early April 2025
If for whatever reason you haven't played Harold Halibut, make sure you do. This was one of my favourite games last year. The art style is fantastic!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 29-30)
I've just started Flintlock, but really I'm just waiting for South of Midnight 👍

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 15-16)
I plan on starting Wo long fallen dynasty tonight. Let's hope I can get through it before Feb 28th!!
Re: Talking Point: What Would You Want From A New Batman Game?
I just want to see a true successor to Arkham Knight. Gotham Knights and Suicide squad are not it.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 1-2)
Finally have full use of my hand again so I'll finish up with WRC this weekend.
Not sure what comes next though.
Happy gaming everyone! 👍👍
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (January 25-26)
@FarmDog08 it does suck.
But it means I've got out of doing loads of jobs around the house for this weekend at least 😂

Hopefully I'll be able to grip a pad by midweek 😐
Happy gaming everyone!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (January 4-5)
Currently playing a combination of power wash simulator, EA Sports WRC and playing through the Halo MCC campaigns on split screen with my 8 year old.
The aim for first part 2025 is to finish the games I started and never got back to in 2024
Namely;
Back 4 Blood
The Callisto Protocol
Gotham Knights
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 21-22)
@somnambulance
Glad to hear that your wife wasn't hurt.
Pull out the party games to deal with the stress!

Re: Two Games Are Available Today With Xbox Game Pass (December 12)
Is it the last update though?
Any chance of a shadow drop at the game awards? 🤔🤔

I played through the career mode at launch, but got bored pretty quickly. I've fired it up twice since and played a little online, but it hasn't hooked me. I much prefer the horizon games.
Re: Random: Xbox Series S Owner Reveals How The Console Literally Saved Their Life
If Microsoft don't start doing Xbox themed cycle helmets after this....
Re: Xbox Shocktober Sale Now Live, 250+ Games Included This Year
@Banjo- I'm exactly the same. Immerse myself in a action/adventure type game. But dip in and out of sports/racing games.
Currently on Callisto protocol, PGA golf and FC 24.
Re: Three Additions Are Coming To Xbox Game Pass Today (October 2)
@funkhouser it does feel like the last few months have been substandard.
I'd like to see the following games added in the near future.
Division 1 & 2
Crew motorfest
Biomutant
Banishers
WRC added to EA play
That would personally make up for the perceived shortfall of the last few months.
But there's still loads of titles to choose from so I'm not unhappy by any stretch.

@JonBoyJ
Yep...
Re: Talking Point: If You Had To Limit Yourself To Three Xbox Games, What Would They Be?
That's a tough question to answer. I'd have to go with some sort of football game - either FIFA or Football Manager
A racing game - Forza or one of the Dirt games
And maybe The division 2.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 13-14)

Re: These Eight Games Are Coming To Xbox Game Pass (July 3-16)
@Dan1283 other than Tony Hawk and the crash bandicoot games I can't think of anything Activision that I'd actually play.
I'm happy seeing a variety of stuff rather than a dump of however many call of duty games exist.
Re: Six Games Will Leave Xbox Game Pass In Early July 2024
Nothing on here for me, which is good!
Re: EA Sports FC 24 Shoots Onto Xbox Game Pass Today (June 25)
@Dan1283 I don't think he's clueless, more stubborn. He wants to play the same way as the last Euro's but the personnel is different. You have to adapt to your players strengths (to a degree) and think Southgate is capable of that but is hindering himself by not wanting to tinker with his formula.
Re: EA Sports FC 24 Shoots Onto Xbox Game Pass Today (June 25)
@RetroMan71 😂😂😂
I don't think England could play so badly that skull island would be a better option than watching the game!
Re: Xbox's Avowed Is Fully Playable In Third-Person, Confirms Obsidian
I tolerate 1st person at the best of times. 3rd person is always a winner for me!
Re: EA Sports FC 24 Shoots Onto Xbox Game Pass Today (June 25)
@MaccaMUFC
And no doubt if you play as England you'll get a better performance than the actual team.
England have been horrible to watch during this tournament, things have to get better soon!
Re: EA Sports FC 24 Shoots Onto Xbox Game Pass Today (June 25)
@Kezelpaso
Thank you, the kids have been asking me about it since last week 😂
Re: EA Sports FC 24 Shoots Onto Xbox Game Pass Today (June 25)
@Kezelpaso
Have you got any info regarding what time it's available for download? Specifically in the UK please? 🙂
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 22-23)
I'm still playing FIST: Forged in shadow torch before it leaves gamepass. Other than that maybe a few rounds on PGA Tour golf.
I'm moving house at the beginning of August so there's a few things I need to be getting done in preparation for that.
Oh, and the football is still on 😉
Happy gaming everyone 👍👍
Re: These Seven Games Are Coming To Xbox Game Pass (June 18-27)
I'll be finishing FIST first (started it last night, and enjoying it so far) then getting started of EA FC 24 player career mode.
Re: Five Games Will Leave Xbox Game Pass In Late June 2024
FIST is one of those games that has been in the back of my mind for a while but I've never checked out. I wasn't even sure what type of game it was.
Anyway, after reading this I decided to have a look at it on YouTube, and decided I'll at least give it try as it looks decent 👍👍
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 15-16)
I won't be gaming very much at all over the next 3-4 weeks because of 1 thing...
EURO 2024.
But when I do, it'll PGA tour golf, and I'm slowly working my way through Somerville.
Happy gaming everyone 👍👍
Re: Poll: How Would You Grade Ubisoft Forward 2024?
Outlaws and Shadows do look great. But I really wanted a division 3 announcement.

Re: Our Predictions For The 2024 Xbox Games Showcase
What about a Marcus Fenix collection?
Also on my wishlist - game pass announce a partnership with Ubisoft+ similar to the EA Play deal.
Re: Five Games Will Leave Xbox Game Pass In Early June 2024
I'm toying with having a look at the bookwalker.
The only other game on this list that held any interest for me is Bramble, but I played through that last month. I recommend playing through it before it goes though!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 1-2)
The last few weeks have to produced little to no gaming for me as I've been way to occupied with real life!
Had a couple of family birthdays, a stag do and I got married after a 6 year engagement!
Now that life has settled down again I've got my self a list of games to look at throughout June
Open roads
Dordogne
Somerville
UFC 4
Ghost recon wildlands
Turbo golf racing
Jedi fallen order
Botany Manor
Inside
Contrast
Happy gaming everyone 👍👍
Re: Xbox Game Pass Will See 'Changes' When Call Of Duty Arrives, Rumours Suggest
@PapaGlitch that's exactly what I was thinking.
Can't say I'm a fan of COD, so would be interested to see what any potential mid-tier would entail.
For me, not having "day 1" access straight away wouldn't be too big a deal. The backlog grows by the week anyway 😂
Re: Xbox Game Pass Will See 'Changes' When Call Of Duty Arrives, Rumours Suggest
@TheSimulator
I'd be happy with that as long as it doesn't affect the games too much.
Re: Xbox Game Pass Will See 'Changes' When Call Of Duty Arrives, Rumours Suggest
I think they're going to introduce a price hike for the ultimate tier at least, and then a mid tier where you get the "Day 1" releases after a certain amount of time.
But time will tell 👍👍
Re: Ubisoft Cancels The Division: Heartland To Focus On Other Major Titles

Has there been any announcement about division 3? The division franchise has been one of my favorites over the last few years.
