Talking Point: What Would You Want From A New Batman Game?

Last week, a massive Bloomberg report on the future of Warner Bros. game development dropped, and in there was a little tidbit about the future of Rocksteady Studios. Indeed, according to the report, the Suicide Squad developer is now back to making another Batman game, which has us thinking about what we'd like to see from a potential follow-up to 2015's Arkham Knight.

Now, we must stress that this hasn't been formally announced yet and would likely be years and years away even if it is true - but that doesn't necessarily stop us from going ahead with a little speculation, right? Honestly, it seems a no-brainer for Rocksteady to return to Batman after the troubles of Kill the Justice League - is almost feels like returning home to the batcave for the British developer.

For us here at Pure Xbox, our overriding thought is that we really want to see what the team can do with an Arkham Knight-style game on modern hardware. The Xbox One title still looks fantastic to this day thanks to incredible art direction - put us back in that world on a much more powerful console, please!

Other than that, despite some fan fondness for the tighter Batman Arkham games on Xbox 360, we do think the way to go is open-world these days. Gotham City just feels like it's begging to be further explored as a sprawling video game location, and as long as Rocksteady sticks to a more dense world rather than something overwhelming in sheer size, we think another open-world romp could be the way to go for the next Batman title.

Having said that, we're throwing this talking point out there to gauge your opinions on the next Batman game. What do you want to see next from Rocksteady Studios?
