Anyone else seeing snow? Because I think hell just froze over.
Seriously though, Elden Ring is my personal GOTY and the only game in the Microsoft ecosystem that I've ever 100% the achievements on, so I'm glad to see that it is performing this well.
After 100%ing Elden Ring, I've gone back to Dark Souls III to play through it in the Microsoft ecosystem... I may have to grab DS II now as well. Too bad DS Remastered is still full price...
Totally, the most being Life is Strange: True Colors. Purchased it on sale because I loved the first LiS, but forgot how "whangsty" the characters get in these games and never ended up starting it. With that being said, I hope my mind is changed about it and will actually play it because it looks quite good.
Tales of Arise and Scarlet Nexus were anime as hell, but both were so damn good. @IronMan30, I would totally replay both of these on Switch, a.k.a. my go-to RPG platform. All tech issues aside, there's something great about playing on the Switch and being able to listen to Arrested Development or Bojack Horseman on my TV in the background.
Third time buying it on a Microsoft console, first time attempting to beat the story.
I like the game, but I always found it to be a bit clunky. With 60 FPS, it feels much more responsive and organic. Really going to love playing through it again this way.
I would have chosen either Infernax or Skul, but I own both on Switch, so I didn't choose anything this month. I would love for Olli Olli World to come to GP, it's fun on the Switch, but could imagine it feeling great on a big screen.
@Kalvort It's incredibly fun, but the B button will become your best friend during dialogue sequences. I don't think I've payed attention to a single expository exchange in this game yet.
One big change if you're a fan of the first though is that you now have limited stamina, but it increases over time with the discovery of items that permanently boost it.
Calling it now, the 2023 entry was going to involve Russia's invasion of a neighboring country to trigger another war. Since these games have 3 year dev cycles, it's entirely possible the team actually wrote a story like this.
@Lavalera I have some PS eco-system friends that like to argue that GP is destructive for the gaming industry, but honestly I think the whole try before you buy mantra is actually good for the industry. There are games that get low meta-scores that someone like me would pass on if I saw it, but getting the chance to try some titles out free of charge like you do helps with assessing my interest in a game. So to those friends I like to argue that GP is actually helpful to the games industry and consumer facing.
Dunno if I'm in the minority here, but when a really good game drops on GP, be it AAA or an indie, I usually end up buying them outright after playing them a while. I did so with Halo and FH5 which theoretically will never leave GP, did so with Nobody Saves the World, and did so with the Yakuza Franchise (admittedly right before they were booted since I owned them on PS4).
I was bummed when I found out that it was only 30 fps on Series S, but then remembered that the first game hasn't gotten a frame rate upgrade yet either, so at least the experience will be on par.
I was spoiled playing the PS4 version on PS5 @ 60FPS, but I switched to a series S and it only runs at 30FPS. Hopefully the optimized version on S has 60 FPS... or I find a Series X soon...
@Somebody True true. Honestly a solid majority of COD players are those who literally drop 500 bucks on next gen hardware only to play COD, same goes for Madden. I'm a bit of a genre-agnostic gamer (besides sports games), so I enjoy COD, but it hasn't been a day one purchase for me since Black Ops 1.
Spend five minutes listening to Seamus Blackley and it becomes obvious this is probably one of the tamer things that came out of his mouth. With that being said, he has the most personality of the original Xbox dev team.
Honestly annual releases seem appealing to publishers in the short-term, but in the long term it's harmful to devs, publishers, and consumers.
Nothing devalues a brand quicker than getting the same thing year over year. Hopefully moving away from this model will allow for some innovation and refinement in this franchise.
As long as he didn't "salt-bae" the magic into the Horizon series to make it as fantastic as it is, I'm completely fine with him leaving. Now, if we could get a micro-machines DLC in the vein of Hot Wheels and Lego (Horizon 3 & 4 respectively), that would be swell.
@SecretAgentCat Having converted from PS5 to Xbox recently, I love my series S and will happily play it until the availability of the Series X increases.
Seeing that I only bought a Series S last week to round out my PS5 and Switch, I gotta say Halo Infinite, Forza Horizon 5, and Death's Door (which I actually started on Switch but bought it on SX to support Acid Nerve.

Re: The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe Has Some Insane Xbox Achievements
Question is, if you adjust your system's clock, will the ten year achievement pop?

Re: The Internet Is Fur-eaking Out About Those Sonic Xbox Controllers
I hate everything about this, it is the gamer equivalent of "moist".
Re: Former PlayStation Exclusive Godfall Arrives On Xbox This April
As a former PS5 owner, I can say with full confidence that Godfall is aggressively derivative.
The only "timed exclusive" I look forward to revisiting is Deathloop and even that game wasn't as groundbreaking as everyone says.
Re: Elden Ring Gets A New Update On Xbox, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
As long as they didn't nerf the rolling ball rune exploit or the Moghwyn Palace bird rune exploit, then we're good.

now if they could only get survivor sense to trigger on a consistent basis.

Honestly with GPU, I don't think GwG is necessary anymore.

Re: Bad News, Stalker 2 Has Been Delayed To December 2022
I true sequel to S.T.A.L.K.E.R.; the first game was delayed 2+ years from its original 2004 release and was a buggy mess when launched.
Just hoping this delay eliminates bugs rather than create them. Hopefully we can get our hands on Atomic Heart before this drops.
