A smart decision in my opinion it most likely effects next year if say this years line up is locked in!
If they are cutting costs and trying too boost profit this is a handy way to do it and put deals on hold see how things work out.

Very nice optimization for all consoles even the series s over 1440p at 30fps with a tad of Ray tracing sounds really good too me!
Especially if you picked it up when it wasn't expensive!

@NishimaruX Yeah it's crazy alright I bought a series s originally but I upgraded to series x about 3 years ago.
The misses was moaning but I was determined and spoiled her the year before for her birthday so I made sure I got it thank God for 450 euro after that the price has just gone up constantly!
When the prices go up again probably next year if we are lucky I could probably sell my series s for more than I paid for it brand new that's just crazy!

@NishimaruX I'd love to be that dude with the most powerful pc machine possible someone else could build for me haha 😂
But I'm a modest gamer I had a decent PC back in the late 90s or early 2000s possibly I used to love unreal tournament multiplayer on it my friends where so jealous of how it looked compared to the original playstation graphics on any game even when the playstation 2 version of unreal came out it looked terrible compared to it haha 😂
Also the original sims back then on PC was just amazing I'd still happily play that version now!

@NishimaruX I'd say given how red dead runs on basically an upgrade for a mid gen refresh of last gen console not nearly as powerful as what current gen is now.
I think we could be surprised how well it runs on 30fps around probably or higher than 1440p on base ps5 and series x?
As someone who doesn't mind playing games on 30fps I'm good sacrificing fps for better resolution and what ever other effects.

All I know is gaming on my series x is amazing I'm replaying red dead redemption 2 again and it's amazing also it's the best console experience for the game currently available.
A rare experience considering the series s is the best selling current gen Xbox model feels good all the rest really is white noise once you over the morning and mid day hump😃

I'll probably sell the spare series s next year if the price keeps going up!
I could end up getting more than I paid for it brand new it's crazy!!

My comment about the payment from Sony is to do with the plays best on playstation tagline besides controller features I don't think it will unless on ps pro there won't be much difference between series x and baseline ps5 was my point I think you're get confused where I'm coming from.

In some other timeline there's no ram crisis the prices didn't go up and this would probably be about 400/450 euro at most at launch!
I'd consider it in that timeline you would have to be bonkers or loaded buy this now if you have a series x already.

At the same time this story has been widely reported everywhere similar to the review score of mixtape by ign exploded.
I don't get what positives there are for them to let everyone believe it if it's not the truth and I'd argue that letting constant negative rumors drift around if untrue would hurt the Xbox brand more.
Most other companies and governments response to negative untrue rumors about them if someone was spreading rumors about me I'd have to respond in some way to them before whooping some bum of the spreader of lies hahaha 🤣

@fatpunkslim The thing that annoys me though is that ign and the like can report anything about Microsoft/Xbox no matter how wrong or potentially damaging but when Microsoft respond or clarify they are ridiculed for responding to it?

I haven't pre ordered yet as it's literally months away and I can build up a load of reward points between now and release to lessen the cost of the game so it would be counter productive for me to pre order the game now.

@Optimumjay It's really just controller specific features not really much to say that it will actually run better on base ps5.
Saying things like it will utilize the SSD of the playstation is pretty obvious I'm sure it will utilize the Xbox SSD aswell it would have to to actually play the game.
The pro will no doubt be the best place to play but base ps5 and series x it will be basically the same like every other release on those two consoles.
Unless they lessen the performance of the Xbox version to make it perform worse than the base ps5 but that's unlikely.
Also when you pay someone to say your the best they will won't they??

I don't really bother putting any games not released on my wishlist to be honest.
I just wishlist the games I'm interested in when they are out and then you get notifications when they are on sale seems like the main perk of using it to me.
No point in putting GTA on the wishlist it will be impossible to ignore the stuff about it up to release.

@Japer83 With most games I would aswell waiting wouldn't bother me but this game is different it's GTA probably only this and a new red dead I'd have to get day one.

Definitely the ultimate edition no point in not getting the version with the full content included.
But I won't be pre-ordering anytime soon I'll let my reward points build up as much as I can before the game comes out.
I should be able to build up quite a bit by then and get a decent chunk off the game happy days!

I'll be on a couple games this weekend I'm playing red dead undead nightmare and started another playthrough of red dead 2 I'll also be on the amazing Forza horizon 6 and a bit of eafc 26 career mode with my roma team!

@AI-Generation Hopefully it all stableises eventually no matter where anyone plays it's all gaming at the end of the day it does get tribal sometimes over what you choose to play on but in reality it's all just pushing buttons on the industry keeps going that's the main thing.
I can see due to the prices both Microsoft and playstation are going to have to improve game streaming if next gen is going to be as expensive as I expect I could be the only viable way to move forward for the masses?

They have needed to fix the review systems ages alright to many reviews are sexist or racist or just aren't relavent to the actual game

@AI-Generation That's the only reason I can see why they would be pushing forward with next gen unless both Sony and Microsoft both don't want to be caught with there manhood in there hands by not releasing a system when the other guy will the industry is so f,d up recently god knows.
I don't think there has been a crazier time to be a gaming enthusiast than over the last few years.
I think the constant need for the most powerful machine with the crispest image is a big problem and while the price rises the results lessen.
But it's the medias fault aswell how they report you would swear that some of the games on ps5 pro are just leagues better than anything else how it's reported while I'm sure it's an improvement it's not as big or special as made out digital foundry are very guilty of that constant tech snobbery!

@AI-Generation You are 100 % right there isn't many gamers out the dying for next generation it's the companies themselves.
No matter what the push party would have you thank console sales has slowed overall most people who want or are in interested in owning a gaming console has on now 6 years in the market is nearing statuation in terms of console ownership.
Regardless I won't be upgrading for a good few years yet I won't be paying extortionist prices for a next gen console my backlog is mighty my series x is a beast in my opinion!

Got my series s on near enough launch for 350 euro and my series x 2023 for 450 euro seems extremely cheap for both now brand new!

Planet of the apes has been unavailable to purchase in the Xbox store for around a year if not longer for me in Ireland.
Wanted to pick it up a good while ago but it was unavailable unfortunately guess I'll never play it now oh well!

I'm sure the playstation and Nintendo will rise prices again.
I seen an article today saying valve where originally going to release there console at around 800 quid.
At least Sony shield there own from the ram crisis selling there consoles dirt cheap only in the japanese market you wouldn't ever catch Microsoft or valve doing that for the us.

@themightyant Yeah it is madness in fairness it's kinda gone to the point where consoles aren't really viable for the average consumer!
No console except maybe the switch 2 is worth the sticker price now or if you're japanese you can pick up a playstation extremely cheap compared to everywhere else.

@RegnumSolipsi I could be a future where only the wealthy and those willing to pay the price will get consoles and the rest will just start streaming on our current gen machines.
Some people have even started doing that with last gen they never upgraded to series s/x and just stream the new games only available on current gen.
