Fable Lets You Customise The Difficulty Of How Hard You'd Like The Game To Be 1

As we wait for 'Fable February' to come about, we've been kicking back and enjoying all the lovely gameplay coverage out of Gamescom. From that, we've gleaned that the game will launch with five different difficulty levels, alongside a whole bunch of customisation options to boot.

Initially posted by a bunch of eagled-eyed Reddit folks, Multiplayer.IT uploaded a video featuring two of the five difficulty settings - Hero and Legend. We already knew about Fable's Story difficulty after Playground Games was grilled for its 'too easy' June gameplay demo, but now we know all five: Story, Hero, Legend, Master, and a Custom option for whenever you fancy tinkering with the preset modes.

I've never been one to toggle the default settings myself, but from what we can see, players will be able to manipulate things like enemy damage, durability and aggression, as well as other things such as auto-block, easy parrying, and reaction windows.

Overall, providing players with accessibility options like this is something I'm totally in favour of, and I'm giving Playground Games kudos for a job well done. Past Fable titles didn't feature this level of accessibility, so it's a welcome modernisation that's as impactful as you choose to make it.
