@Millionski very true , makes you wonder how many will they have to sell to make it worthwhile. And i think Sony will price themselves out of the casual market to.
The entry level for gaming is far to high now. £400 for a Nintendo console is expensive, and being that is the entry for a modern day console seems crazy.
Casual gamers will go elsewhere when consoles start hitting £700 or £1000 to just get into the eco system.
And to be honest , when was the last big leap in console gaming
360 , Wii and PS3 where the last real innovators, since then its just been about resolution, 720p,1080p and 4k.
I still watch DVD's let alone 1080p Blu-ray. There's nothing to shout about. nothing exciting. Nothing to wow me anymore.
All very nice and that, but way out of my league , Took me three years to fork out for a Xbox Series X.
So no chance Ill be buying this console PC.
Looks like Ill be gaming on old systems on the future. Sega just need to release a decent console , not overly powerful. convert all their old arcade games and id be happy.
Who knows, not really optimistic, overall i prefer the Xbox One compared to the current series X and only bought it to play the Series X only games . of which really only started happening around the release of Starfield, which i bought and was disappointed with.
Even though I like the series X it didn't have that new console excitement like previous consoles in the Xbox range. I felt like I had just bought a upgraded Xbox One to be honest.
So my optimism for Xbox to actually release a new console with a feeling of a new piece of kit i have doubt's for.
But maybe that's just how it is now. i hear many think the same about the Switch 2 , ( which i bought at Launch) but as i never owned a Switch 1 I am not able to comment .
Maybe the launch of new hardware is just not exciting as it used to be in past generations overall. Im sure it was more a big event in the previous gens. not knowing how gaming would change with the introduction of the next generation.
the games industry really does need a kick up the arse to invigorate it. But who will achieve that is unclear currently.
A sad day for gaming, Especially when actual gamers behind the brand leave or retire. Any soul XBOX had has now gone. because in the end its the heads, CEO's or Presidents that set the rules.
Truth is Spencer and Bond where forward facing champions of gaming. A enthusiasm which you could see was genuine.
That soul has gone, yes I know its the devs that make the games that shine or don't. Not to say that Spencer and Bond didn't make mistakes , but they still had to answer to the higher ups.
The late Iwata made a few boo's boo's but he was a passionate gamer, developer and CEO. Also very forward facing along with Reggie of NOA.
You have to wonder is gaming heading for the biggest shake up ever across the board.
Fuskishima of Nintendo comes across as souless, on the rare occasion he raises his head.
The past two Playstation CEO's have not exactly lit the world alight with enthusiasm . And the closure of Bluepoint has sent shockwaves through the industry once again on how mismanagement is destroying gaming studios and brands along the way.
Yet among all this turmoil the one CEO who comes across as a passionate champion of Gaming and it's history is the current guy behind ATARI. Wade Rosen could show these big boy players how to capture peoples hearts by making gaming great by remembering where it all started.
Past gaming icons like Nolan Bushell , David Rosen and such like even though CEO's out to make money held much passion for there respective companies which exuded to the gamers.
Former Late Atari boss Jack Tramiel once said Business is war , it was this war of computers , game consoles manufacture's that paved the way for some of the greatest times in gaming.
Maybe this era of the non console, computer wars is the wrong way to go about it.
because where there's war in business it seems this hard competition drives every one to try better, harder and along the way thrive better. And maybe with a hard driven battle Xbox may have shined better these past few years. But now the soul has gone , maybe it's time to move on and look to the past.
No disc version, so passed. I wont support any big release unless got a standard physical version with disc. as a digital title its worth a tenner to me.
yeah right pain, xbox series x , more or less full, a 2tb hdd for 360 and xone games. nearly full and the expansion 1tb card which about 100gb left.
and i have more games to install which are sitting on shelf. I don't subscribe to game pass as there's no point as i dont have space. And am reluctant to get another expansion card at there price.
yeah not impressed with the storage situation.
luckily there's not much for me on Xbox coming apart from Yakuza 3 . After that will be properly be Horizon6 , now that will be a issue , but i guess Ill probably just move Horizon 5 to the HDD as i play Horizon 4 more then 5 as i found Mexico lacklustre.
Give us a new game with the freshness of Enslaved at the time of its release. I loved Heavenly Sword to. Hell blade though stupendous looking. Im a bit bored of it now.
I think a Xbox One X would be still be a good buy at the right price.
if I had to replace my Xone i would get a One X . purely as its a solid console , will play all my old titles and it connects to the internet wirelessly
Something i am unable to get my Series X to do , even though the router is three feet away.
Don't think Ill bother, as a gamer who focuses on buying physical, Xbox is slowly shying away from that, i haven't played a number of there releases due to no physical release .
for the money the Steam machine will be a better option as games will be cheaper. . but even then im not that interested..
mostly all physical, Sonic Racing Crosswords, Tony Hawk 34, Elden Ring, Ninja Gainden 4,Metaphor Refantazio, Shinobi from Limited Run, and Indian Jones and the great circle.. Plus i had two Yakuza games turn up for Xbox from Limited Run, which i ordered. Kiwami 2 and Song of Life. I did buy a couple digital ones , but they where so cheap i cant even remember what they where.
Price is key, also whether it has a disc drive for physical media. No disc drive and people are better off buying a Steam Machine , which is looking to be a nice piece of kit and you'll get all those deals on Steam games.
I reckon if the new Xbox is more then £600 has no disc drive then they will loose a lot of customers to PS6 and the new Steam Machine..
But then saying that , the current systems should still be good for another five years with support going by the amount of games still releasing for the Xbox One generation.
So a new Xbox isn't something i would jump into day one as Im ok with the current system.
I'm enjoying it, gave it a 7 so far. It does what it promised i guess. Though i had never played 2 . so recently i bought a 360 version of no'2 . I have started both games in Tandem. Graphically i think number 2 is more of a feast for the eyes.
Colours pop and the gameplay has the edge . Ninja 4 is a little to grey and muted colours detract from the enjoyment slightly .
But being as i like Platinum games overall i am enjoying 4. Also recently bought Rangebound on Switch and yes its a classic Ninja Gaiden game. Which is a reminder of how hard core and simpler games where back in the day .
update: I have also seen that there's a Xbox only version and a Xbox and Windows version, which is quite confusing , which some stores only stocking the Xbox /Windows version.
Quite odd, when the point of buying the box is to get it on disc. and the dual release is a digital code only.
Talk about sales getting lost due to different box versions out there. Bit of a mess if you ask me.
@SMJ There is no disc version for Xbox , just a code in a box. hence why I'm not supporting it. PS5 I think the game is on disc I believe. but will have to check reviews of that.
of course the price is insane. But for me the outlier is if you have a physical Xbox collection of games you are unable to play them on the Ally.
It would need a connection to the Xbox , so for instance if you wanted to play a physical game it could transfer that game direct from your Xbox series X which would say give a code from the inserted Xbox disc that shows you have the physical disc. This could be a timed limit so once the game is installed your have say 14 days of play on that game. If after 14 days you wanted to still play that game you would have to reconnect your Ally to the Xbox and insert the disc confirming you still had the physical media to get another 14 days use.
Its a simple idea, one which would give the Ally a much needed boost.
it could work a bit like the Switch 2 's game share . but presently its NOT a Xbox if I cant play my physical media on the device.
it is a big jump, it depends how you game, i for don't jump into a new game and have to finish it asap. I kind of go in And out of games, Some times can take two years to finish a game, i kind of get my monies worth.
So i don't use game pass really, i might subscribe to try out a really big game I am wanting to buy in case i hate it.
So as a Xbox user this whole game pass thing does not affect me. If i want to play online with a friend Ill buy the lowest tier for a month and play.
I put all the money i have into actually buying the games. whether at launch or later down the road at a discounted price. .. So yeah Gamepass going up crazy money doesn't really effect me.
But it is a blow to players who play mostly digital and say have bought a series S . GamePass is where they got their fix. For them I feel it is a bad decision, adding old Ubi games and a Fortnight pass does not really cut it. Its just adding fodder to bulk out a Plan which is now not really worth subscribing to.
really love the classics from Japanese car culture. but would like to see the oddballs like the Toyota Crown, Datsun 180, Datsun Cherry, Honda Civic, just because their cars people would have seen or owned from a working or middle class perspective. They don't all have to be super cars.

i love the AA route. I use rechargeable AA's and AAA's in all my console controllers, TV remotes ect. there easy to use, , replaceable at a decent cost and without the flaff of opening up your unit. Plus they don't die and leak if you haven't used a item for a while, you just have to charge them.
+The Atari Jaguar game is so bad, you just die, awful collision detection. I have it still, purely because its one of the worst games ever made. Though i would have to put Highlander the Game as equal , both the 8 bit and 16 bit games are dire.

Its what kept me away from next gen for more then two years , eventually getting my series X at a decent price with ForzaH5
