Oblivion Remastered Has A Very Cheap 'Deluxe Edition Upgrade' On Xbox

Absolutely right, @Kaloudz. Art books, director's commentaries, and even soundtracks, I just don't bother to install them...

@Fiendish-Beaver Same. I remember the days we had big thick manuals (Mega Drive days) and even maps included with hard copy games. Even the manuals had character bios and such. Good old days eh? I like added extras but digitally? Nah. Too much for too little.

I think I will actually invest in the upgrade because I like to have all the content, and my son advises me that there is also an extra mission too, which I would not want to miss out on. It's going to be a while before I play the game though as I have a heavy list of games to get through first. I'm currently right at the end of Metaphor: ReFantazio, but I also want to play through South of Midnight, Avowed, Expedition 33 and Days Gone Remastered before starting Oblivion.

I think with Avowed and Oblivion being similar in many ways, and with Metaphor perhaps having similarities to Expedition 33, that I shall play Avowed next, then Days Gone, then SoM, then lastly Expedition 33 before diving into a 1000 hour long campaign in Oblivion. So I would imagine that will mean that Bethesda have about a month to squash any bugs before I am ready to start it... 🤞

I only buy digitally these days, @Kaloudz, unless it is a Collector's Edition (which I then don't open anyway!). However, where I have the option not to download these extras, I always choose not to. I do seem to vaguely recall sitting down with sometimes huge maps trying to ensure that I went everywhere and discovered everything. I have a feeling I had one of those for one of the Fallout games. I actually have the official guide book for Oblivion, so I might just use that to ensure I experience everything...

Very cheap and fair but it’s just some skins plus digital artwork and soundtrack.

You had me worried for a second. I thought they were not including the dlc with the base version. That would have been a gross thing to do on a 20 year remaster.

Since it is only skins/soundtracks etc. I can easily pass on this.

A 'shadow drop' is something unexpected, like Hi-Fi Rush which literally came out of nowhere.

Oblivion is not a shadow drop.

I see they just can't stop selling horse armor for real money. Much like original release did.

Sad. Very sad.

The saddest part about this, for me, is that I legit thought the remaster or whatever this is was super-cheap, until I realized I was looking at the wrong thing.

Like, I would have bought this game if it had actually cost $10.

But seeing it go for what a fully priced game usually costs these days made me instanope on that idea.

@Fishysensei I’m surprised people are dismayed by the price. $50 seems pretty sensible to me. Way more work was put into this than they’d recoup selling it for $20.

Anyway when Nintendo is charging $80 for Mario kart and most new games are $70, $50 isn’t full price…

@AndroidBango well it was a shadow drop since they announced nothing about it until now. Leaks don’t really count.

Is there extra quests to do with the weapons from the deluxe? Just read on the other article mentions extra quests

I apologize.
It seems I was looking at what the Deluxe Edition costs, I see now that just the standard game costs 599 kr(pretty much $63) which is a bit more acceptable.
