@Tasuki i saw that Netflix news too, didn't they also say that they was reducing the streaming quality to help with the extra load

it's not just XBL, i noticed issues with PSN last night too and Nintendo Network

but then again with such a large influx of players it's to be expected

although i'm surprised any of them are up at all, after all situations like this are normally the time the t**** decide to try to hack the systems

Sounds like both have a similar issue probably due to the change from HDD to SSD and thus they are making sure every game works before confirming things

@KelticDevil oh it was a mess to be sure no denying that but i still think people were expecting to much from it

wasn't this a licenced game though surely they can't bring it back as the licence would have lapsed by now and as the show is no longer produced they wouldn't be able to get it back either

but it WAS a GDC show, they even said before hand that's what it was but after GDC was cancelled they did this instead, it wasn't a show for the general audience but for developers

did they mess up, yeah they did but people went in expecting a full blown E3 style reveal and that's never what it was going to be, it was always going to be a tech presentation

but i agree they really need to clarify some of the stuff they said for the general audience because it's confused a lot of people and all the conflicting reports about things will; not be helpful

@gingataisen i think they need a big Japanese developer say for example Square Enix or SEGA in order for them to finally break into the market over there, it's something they always struggle with and a big developer could help them

anyway i'm not saying it was a mistake just that it could be a mistake

if XB got a new secret developer then all power to them and they will tell us in due time, if they haven't and it was a mistake then that's all it is, a slip of the tongue and we move on

Any way if the PS5 is pretty similar in it's specs (and it probably will be) it sounds like both machines will be quite the power house

Of course it still all comes down to the games, you can be the most powerful but if there is nothing to play on it then it's worthless

That long, shame i lost mine when my brother moved out years ago (he accidentally took my copy of Halo CE and left his copy if Halo 2 behind) otherwise i would boot up the old XBOX and give it a play

I voted for Backwards compatibility although i'm still sad it's not full BC only the games currently on the XB1BC Program which means i still have a load of 360 games i can't play (as my 360 is dead)

well that explains why i couldn't sign in or use my XB1s last night (my XB1s isn't my home console, that's the one we all share in the living room so if i can't sign in to XBL i can't play anything on it)

@FraserG @Damo it's good to have you back too but it's going to take time to get going, i have announced in the Nintendo Life XBOX forum that the site is back so hopefully more people will come round

i have 3 of those

not for any negative reason but i had one and when my brother got a 360 he gave me his and my sisters husband also gave me his old one because he didn't need it anymore

i'm not gonna turn down a free console

anyway on topic the OG XBOX was a great little machine just a shame it didn't hit the heights of the PS2 but we got some great games on it

also the Duke controller was awesome

@SuperKMx the 360 version does show the episode list before playing episodes now, it had an update not long ago, at least here in the uk so I'm guessing it's the same everywhere else now

yeah i gave it a go (even though i don't have a XB1) and i have to say it's better than the 360 smartglass app that's for sure, faster too

it's right though the "console war" is stupid and only exsits in the minds of fanboys, just play what you wan't enjoy your games and let other do the same

I got a kinect at launch and was very dissapointed with it, that's why I'm not sold on the kinect 2.0 I've been burn once

still it does look a lot better than the original kinect but I'm still not sold

@DRL but you still have to install retail disc's too

the timeing for this couldn't be better, somehow I broke my GOTY Arkham City disc so getting this would help loads as I don't have origins yet, but will the version of Arkham City that comes with this work with my current game save and the GOTY Edition extra content I have installed on my 360?

well that's great news , i would still like some newer games though this month PS+ got Far Cry 3 and GOG got Halo 3 (a good game yes but is really old)

i just think with a few newer games more people might be willing to upgrade to Gold

it's a nice idea i can see people using it for Achievement guides, as for me i would probably use it to show my mates

@Sony_70 but you wouldn't be able to as to use the console you would have to connect to the internet which would mean you have to download the update, so really you have no choice but to download it
