This is why I continue to tell people “Buy/build a PC if you want 60FPS”. 60FPS will never be the main option on consoles because you’re at the mercy of developers, and developers will simply choose 30FPS with 60FPS as an afterthought.
@somnambulance Treyarch is definitely who I would hope that handles halo in the future. Shutdown the developer side of 343, and keep whatever left around to handle licensing of the Halo properties to third-party developers and lore side of halo… Because just have them go back to what they was originally doing.
@somnambulance Infinite multiplayer is far from garbage. Just lacks content. Which is something the ActivisionBlizzard purchase can help improve upon. All those CoD support studio can help with content 🤣
@dreadful It cause everyone and their moms kept bring it up. If people left it be and didn’t blast to the world that it was possible… It would have continued to go unnoticed.
Tell that to all their failed attempts. Sony and multiplayer/live service simply don’t mix which is why they had to buy Bungie. Couldn’t create anything themselves, so had to buy their way into the market.
@senote Sony couldn’t make a CoD competitor even if they wanted to… They’ve tried, and have failed. They’ve also tried to make a Halo competitor, and failed.
I absolutely enjoyed Ryse. Though I never played it before on Xbox. I originally played it on my first “gaming” PC, and now I replay the game every time I get a new PC hardware.
@BAMozzy It really saddens me that we’ll never see another dead rising. Capcom killed off the studio that was a joint partnerships with Microsoft. Killing that studio basically means no Microsoft money, no Dead Rising; so 5 was cancelled… A dead rising 5 could have been a Series X|S launch title.
@NEStalgia Probably no one bothering with actually buying the game anymore. The licensing agreements also probably didn’t include offering the game on Game Pass since QB came out when game pass wasn’t even a twinkle in Phil Spencer eye yet.
@GamingFan4Lyf While none of Sony studios have been apart of UE showcase. It was the PS5 that Epic originally used to show off UE5 for the first time. Sony has also been dumping billions of dollars into Epic to make their console the best place for UE. So don’t underestimate Sony just cause their studios haven’t shown anything off.
@LordFunkalot I still don’t get what people are finding wrong with recent Marvel stuff. Hawk eye was enjoyable, Loki and Wandavision was great, Moon Knight was fantastic. It was finally nice to see some good fashion hand to hand combat with Shang chi. Loved what they did with werewolf by night. Spider Man No way home was straight nostalgia. Sure black Widow and eternals wasn’t great, and She hulk was… never mind about she hulk. Ms. Marvel would have been great if I was a 15 year old girl, and not a 26 year old man.
There a lot more shows and movie. But people are acting like everything was pure trash. Marvel stuff still have been overall good, and better than most tv shows and movies we get.
@Green-Bandit It won’t be a draw. It be a major negative. Let say if MS makes a deal with WB to license Batman and publish 3 new games over the course of say 10 years. After those 10 years, it either renew their contract or lose all publishing right to the games… Meaning not a only did they waste 10 years developing games, but game pass also loses those 3 games.
This is why Gamepass only have 2 Forza games. You can’t buy FH 2-3 and FM5-7, and they aren’t available on Gamepass. Cause the license to those cars and song in those games expired. FH 4 and 5 will also eventually be removed from GamePass as well.
A game’s delisting pokes a hole in the Xbox Game Pass promise. This is why they are buying studio and focusing on owning IP instead of just relying on 3rd party titles and renting IP. They want to be self sufficient.
@BRT15 I wouldn’t say it’s all Warner Bros. People love to point fingers at the publishers like the developers and studio manager also don’t any part in this. Like we didn’t just get gaming biggest release in years, Hogwart Legacy, that didn’t have one MTX or battle pass that was also a Warner Bro release.
@Techno92LFC I not gonna bring up what she did. If you want to know more. The statement above has a link. They are forced to post the statement to remind people that at the end of the day this is a gaming site, so of course they are gonna talk about the biggest game of the year, but just cause they talk about said game… Doesn’t mean they agree with the creator cause some people can’t separate art from creator and automatically assume that if you talk or mention said game. Your opinion align with her.
So it either the post that statement or we just don’t get any article about the game.
@Would_you_kindly Because everyone knows what said person did is very wrong, and everyone agrees on that. Not everyone can agree on the Harry Potter issue.
@Robocrop_Duster Cause the owners of crossfire doesn’t care about the campaign. They just made it as way to get western players interested in the game so that they would play the multiplayer.
@abe_hikura Wasn’t Gears Tactics mainly developed by Splash Damage? Most likely any cancellation shouldn’t any affect on a sequel since a different studio handled it.
@Dezzy70 You do realize the Sony’s studios on average work on 1-2 games at a time; and they’ve been steadily increasing studios size so they could increase that to 3 games, right.
@S1ayeR74 A ton of studios see several key figured leave all the time. Look at Toshihiro Nagoshi leaving Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio with several other key employees; or Raphaël Colantonio leaving arkane with several key employees… etc. The list goes on and on and on.
Man! This looks so good. Avalanche was definitely the best studio to handle this IP. Them being an ex Disney developer is really shinnying through with their care and attention to detail of this IP.
@CrazyJF I’m guessing it due to the fact Bethesda is still operates as a separate business from Xbox. So they are probably still allowed to push their own account system.
I haven’t played it in months. I’m probably officially done with the game, and probably done with Halo altogether… 343i has nothing to do with this decision tho. It mainly cause my interest in gaming is fading as I get older, and my interest move to other hobbies that some would say is more fitting for my age.
This is simply their best game ever just cause of the stellar performance at launch. Both Evil Within and Ghostwire Tokyo had major performance issues.
@S1ayeR74 Turn 10 has released 7 games on time since back to the very first Xbox while maintaining a high level of quality. They aren’t just sitting around twiddling their thumbs as we been actual able to test and see some of the work they’ve been doing. A slight delay of 1 game is not a red flag that Microsoft needs to crack down on a studio. If Forza Motorsport come out and it worse than the previous entry then maybe.
Internal disagreements about the creative direction to take and team members leaving is something literally all studios go through while developing a game. Unless the game come out and have issues. That stuff isn’t a good enough reason for Microsoft to crack down on the studio who has managed to release 3 good products.
Releasing 4 major title back to back with multiple brand damaging issues is a reason to crack down on a studio
@S1ayeR74 I guess Rare would be the second… They’re probably next on the chopping block.Turn 10 and The Coalition have done remarkably well. I’m willing to give The Initiative the benefit of the doubt as they are still a young studio and haven’t failed multiple times unlike 343…
ZeniMax Media’s studios are still considered a separate entity from Xbox Game Studios, so are managed by properly by Bethesda.
@NEStalgia I mean… So far, the best years of Bungie was when they was under Microsoft management. They haven’t exactly proven that they could handle self managing themselves (not all studios deserve to be independent). So it was good Sony bought them if Microsoft wasn’t given the chance to repurchase them. They need that soft nurturing love of momma Sony.
Everyone gave Microsoft crap for micromanaging their studios, and keeping them on a tight leash. But over the last couple of years… they’ve massively loosen that grip. And while it been great for 2nd party studios who can manage themselves. It seems that Microsoft’s studios can’t function without the ever watchful eyes of Big Daddy Microsoft. Maybe it time to reel back in that leash Microsoft especially for 343. Manage them how you managed Bungie.
@Kohaku FM7 had 30 cause it was built on the foundation of FM5 and 6. This FM seems to be a reboot of franchise so they are basically starting completely fresh, so they don’t have that foundation especially since they are adding Ray Tracing which means everything has to be rebuilt… GT7 biggest criticism was that it was just GTSport with some fresh paint wasn’t something that really took advantage of the PS5.
@Green-Bandit It’s not just the tech world. Business are laying people in every industry. People are about to have rude awakening if they didn’t save any money or manage their spending correctly.
@NEStalgia They still have some kind of partnership with oculus… But that only clouding streaming game pass games. Don’t know if they’re still the official controller for the platform. Was hoping that they would massively expand on this partnership.
RIP WMR tho. I really enjoyed the time I had with that platform tho.
@NEStalgia I was hoping that this game could get VR (at least on PC) to combat GT7 VR, but with Microsoft canning their VR and Mix Reality teams… It doesn’t look like VR in Xbox or Xbox studios futures.
@Would_you_kindly We don’t even know if the game would had been in development if it wasn’t for Microsoft… Plenty of developers have stated that these smaller one off title only existed cause of Microsoft funding.
@stvevan What management is even left at 343? Most of the management that was in charge during Infinite development have left or been replaced including Bonnie Ross. Most of the management there had nothing to do with Infinite like Pierre Hintze
@Kaloudz Idk how I feel about ID working on halo… Sure the modern Doom campaigns have been fantastic. But ID have fallen flat on their face when it comes to multiplayer in recent times. Halo is about balancing both the online and single player aspect.
While it suck… People getting laid off is never good. But TBH I feel no sympathy for them. They was working at the biggest tech company in the world. Getting good pay and good benefits. They can survive a month or two without an active jobs. If they can’t… then they’ve been doing a terrible job at balancing finances. Maybe cut out the avocado toast, stop shopping at Whole Foods, and cancel the fancy gym membership.
There are actual people out here struggling. Ex Microsoft employees with fancy resumes ain’t one of them.
