Re: Xbox One Is Probably Here To Stay, Whether We Like It Or Not

Floki

@Richnj Most developer will put SSD as a recommend/minimum spec. If a PC gamer decided to run the game on an HDD and has issue. Then the gamer is at fault, and the developer can blame the person's PC.

Anyway, who is honest still using an HDD? m.2 nvme drives are dirt cheap at this point, and even PCIe gen 4 stuff will probably extremely more mainstream by the end of the year due to PCIe Gen 5 stuff releasing on the market.

If someone is still using a HDD. Then they probably not some one who buys the latest games, and probably stick to older stuff.

Re: Former Xbox Exec Questions Microsoft's Ability To Sell Xbox In Japan

Floki

@Gamer83 We would probably still get From Software games. Their games sell well world wide, so it wouldn't have mattered if Xbox didn't exist in Japan. Xbox would probably also still get a bunch of mainstream Japanese games like Final Fantasy, Dragon Ball, Naruto... etc

Their presence there is to try and get niche Japanese games on the platform.

Re: Random: Forget Phil's Shelf, Xbox Boss Drops Hint In New Profile Picture

@Bleachedsmiles You say that like there isn't a toxic community for every game known to mankind. So that means very little, if anything.

You keep bringing up Skyrim, like we haven't had Fallout 4 that wasn't ripped to shreds.

It would have launch in very much Cyber Punk levels of bad to be rip too shred by the levelheaded gaming community.

@Bleachedsmiles "I wonder, now that it’s going to be on gamepass, now that people have had to wait longer, if the Bethesda bugs will still be seen as charming or if, in a more social media heavy world, people will be less forgiving and really tear starfield apart"

That depends if the games is good. People seem to not care about bugs as long as the actual game is good.

Re: Indie Developer Snubs Xbox As Furi DLC Skips Xbox One Release

Floki

Xbox has the install based to make porting games like this in theory worthit, but the actual player based simply just don't play games like this. So long term support comes into question. Basically if you ain't COD, FIFA... or any big budget game. Just don't launch on Xbox.

Re: Rumour: Gears Of War 'Collection' Could Be Coming To Xbox This Year

Floki

@SplooshDmg Yeah. I know. I just recently tried playing Fable 3 and couple of other Games for Windows Live titles, but all of them recommend replacing xlive.dll fix, so it isnt a fix specifically for Fable 3. It definitely a hope and cross your fingers that it work "fix".

It sad cause a lot of cool games are attached to games for windows live, and now they're mostly unplayable.

Re: God Of War Creator Slams Xbox Boss's Response To Bethesda Delays

Floki

@Bleachedsmiles Again, he hasn't truly been given the chance to royaly mess up. We won't start see Jim Ryan's games until after God of War Ragnarok, so we'll see if the quality continues. But with his interest is live services game, and releasing 10 live service games before 2026. You could argue that Playstation consistently in quality probably won't continue.

Don Mattrick wasn't exactly high up. He was in charge of a division inside of division inside of a division, and had several people he reported to before his opinion was even heard by the Microsoft CEO. Unlike with Phil who reports directly to the CEO, and with Xbox being it entirely own division now.

But Don Mattrick also left on his own accord due Microsoft reorganizing, and put him charge of hardware when he wanted a gaming CEO position.

EDIT: The shareholders don't excatly care if the games are poorly managed. They only care if Xbox continues to bring profit, and so far that what Phil has managed to do. So to them, Phil is doing a fantastic job.

Re: God Of War Creator Slams Xbox Boss's Response To Bethesda Delays

@Bleachedsmiles I never said that Playstation had those issues. Even tho they've had plenty of time where they've shown massive incompetence (Vita, studio Japan... etc). Sony is quick to shut studios down or completely bury their issues, and act they never happened in the first place.

I'm just saying stating Playstation success has nothing to do with Jim Ryan, so to have mentioned him in the first place was pointless.

Unfortunately, Xbox issues are issues they've had since day 1, and are so ingrained in the company. They would have completely burn everything and start from scratch, and you can't just simply get rid of the current management. Once you're that high on the corporate leader. You can't just be simply fired.

Re: God Of War Creator Slams Xbox Boss's Response To Bethesda Delays

Floki

@Bleachedsmiles Jim Ryan really has no nothing to do with the ps5 getting 5 first party games and 2 Bethesda games so far. Jim Ryan is still riding on the groundwork left by Andrew House, Shawn Layden and their team as those games was in development before Jim Ryan would have taken over. The little we've seen of Jim Ryan Era playstation have been a complete mess masked by the overwhelming and run away successful of the PS4.

Re: Former Nintendo Boss Applauds Xbox's 'Fantastic' Acquisition Of Activision Blizzard

Floki

@Royalblues I hope they don't give Xbox priority. For a cross-platform/play game like Call of Duty. You don't want to be giving a platform one priority over the other.

" If there is parity between consoles, what was the point of going after these guys?"

To pad out GamesPass. Buying ActivationBlizzard guarantee that all future releases launch day 1 on the service. Plus ActivationBlizzard has a ton of dormant IP that would be great for GamePass.
