Only actually played 3 of those - Gotham, Halo and Tony Hawks.

It’s not hard to believe gears cost 500 million, it’s similar to other games of the same quality and scope.

Xbox would have known the budget and forecast and still made the decision to go exclusive. I assume they decided to go this route to build goodwill with their fanbase and marked it down as part of the cost to do that.

@theduckofdeath yes true I should have said they're the exact execs that need to go. PS was a much better place before Ryan, Hulst and Noshino. At least Ryan's gone but I have no faith in the other two, they're nowhere near the same league as Tretton, House, Shu etc.

@fatpunkslim agreed, PlayStation need an executive reset like Xbox did this year.

Playstation is a much worse place without Shu, I have nothing but respect for the guy.

Looks like really nice hardware but I don’t understand the 300 premium.

Ram, storage and chip are the same and oled prices have barely increased unlike silicon so I’m not sure why the difference is so much. Feels like they’re jumping on the “increase price because” bandwagon a little bit.

Love the idea of this. My favourite controller is the S2 pro controller as it’s smaller than ps/xbox and more comfortable because of it. For my hands anyway. Not convinced of the ergonomics of this one though looking at the pics.

@Banjo- that’s true and couldn’t agree more that MS (the gaming world) need something like this to reinvigorate and set the shooter world apart.

It’d be like a breath of fresh air in a world of pvp and cod shooters.

I was a fan of goldeneye back on the 64, then perfect dark and when a new one was announced for some reason wasn’t bothered.

Then they had the showcase and I was hyped. The fact it was cancelled shortly after made me realise how much I wanted a new game and this looked really good.

Sony and MS are ruining gaming for me. Industry consolidation has been nothing but bad for gaming.

I’d drop PS and move back to Xbox if it continued physical games.

@RTGX yes Yoshida was a dude and Sony have literally been in decline since he left.

He nurtured relationships, signed games and had complete respect from developers and gamers.

Playstation has been in massive decline since the days of Shu, Andrew House, Layden etc in many ways.

It feels like the current leadership are as bad at developer relations and communication as they are with their customer base and physint is an example of that fallout. The fallout and deteriorated goodwill from their userbase can be easily seen everywhere on the internet.

They really need a leadership reset like xbox did with Asha.

PlayStation are on self destruct mode, meanwhile Xbox are having a resurgence. Crazy times!

@IronMan30 I wouldn’t count it out. Display prices have largely held steady and in some cases have dropped so if Nintendo added an oled the increased price shouldn’t be too much higher.

@Banjo- you can easily run Linux on steam deck to run it as a pc. Granted some would prefer windows though there’s many out there that prefer alternatives too.

I mean it’s easy to choose not to watch leaked footage. I didn’t so am excited about the proper reveal.

@AI-Generation funny you say that as I was thinking I'd actually love a new 8 or 64 bit system from Nintendo.

I know they don't have the resources to support it alongside Switch 2 but if they did the games would be quicker and cheaper to make and we might end up with Mario 64 2 or Ocarina 2 for example!
