It was literally just a couple of days ago that we published a "Hands On" piece about what it's like playing Samson on Xbox Series X, but unfortunately the development studio behind that game has now been forced to close.

In a statement published on Twitter, Liquid Swords founder Christofer Sundberg advised that Samson has performed "much better" on consoles versus its original PC release, but it's still not been enough to save the studio.

Here's what he had to say:

As you can see, Sundberg reveals that his team is "discussing continued support for Samson", which may suggest that there's still life ahead in terms of updates and general bug fixes at least.

We'll have to wait and see what happens next, but Sundberg (who incidentally was one of the creators of the Just Cause series) advises that the situation is "not the end of the world" and that "we'll be back soon".

Samson isn't an amazing game by any means, but it's also clearly had a lot of love poured into it, and it's a shame if this marks the end of its post-launch support. We wish all the best to everyone affected by the news at Liquid Swords.
