Re: Xbox Seagate Expansion Cards Heavily Discounted At Amazon (UK)

CunningPig

I would bet the sale is happening because the deal is expiring and we'll see them open the door for other manufacturers starting in Nov, at the 2 yr mark. They said at launch this would be the only option "for now". I always understood that to mean they had an agreement similar to timed exclusivity on games and that other parties would have a chance when that deal expired.

@BAMozzy all this. In many ways it was the right choice

Re: Three Games Are Available Today With Xbox Game Pass (September 29)

CunningPig

Maybe someone can answer something for me. I have seen in various places that Valheim will support crossplay, but will it support cross save once it comes out for xbox? I'm not sure I want to start it on PC and then not be able to transfer my progress to the xbox version. Or maybe the game is structured in such a way that restarting isn't such a big deal? Don't really know much about it other than it was big on steam.

Re: Google Stadia Is Shutting Down, Which Is Good News For Xbox

CunningPig

I don't see this as being good for Game Pass. If they had actually tried to compete it would push Microsoft to keep improving their service.

As far as who else might enter the gaming space, Amazon and Netflix still have aspirations. Netflix doesn't seem to want to be a true competitor to console/pc, but they might be able to carve out a niche for themselves. Amazon doesn't seem scared to throw their money around. I know they've canceled projects, but if they're willing to put so much into one LOTR show then I can easily see them burning cash to try to compete in gaming.

Re: Poll: What Score Would You Give Immortals Fenyx Rising On Xbox Game Pass?

CunningPig

It's a 7-8 for me. I'm having a lot of fun with it. My only complaint is the enemies are not very challenging but super tanky. I ended up lowering the difficulty because the combat was boring after a while, it just took so long to kill things.

The vaults and challenges are a lot of fun. The hidden quests are entertaining. The exploration feels rewarding and everything looks and runs beautifully on SX.

Re: It's Been A Rough Old Week For Microsoft Rewards On Xbox

CunningPig

@themightyant I think it's moving because it reverts back to a certain tile. So when you click on something, then go back to the main rewards page, you expect to be able to move to a new tile immediately, but then the app refreshes and goes back to the tile it thinks you should be on which is usually the one just to the left or right. It happens to me most at the +5 pt ones at the bottom, like the featured games and youtube video. If you just give it a second to refresh before you try to move it wont happen, in my experience.

Re: Random: Xbox Series X Owner Panics As Console 'Runs Out Of Memory'

CunningPig

@Stnkygrngo That's not really how quick resume works. You only have one game "open" at any given time. The quick resume feature saves a "snapshot" of the ram and stores it in a separate partition on the ssd. Then when you want to load that game, it can just load that ram snapshot and it resumes right where you left off. So, regardless of how many games you have on quick resume, the ones you aren't playing are just sitting there doing nothing on your hard drive until you want to load them up.

Re: Xbox Insider Update Adds 'Reveal' Option For Secret Achievements

CunningPig

I mean you can just press Y while viewing it and it auto searches the achievement in edge. The first link will almost always be to Trueachievements and it will tell you what the achievement is and how to get it.

What they really need to change is being able to view the achievements for any game in the FIRST drop down menu when you select a game with the menu button. Not just the game I'm currently playing, not buried 4-5 clicks deep in the game card. One click away, let me see them for any game, even games that aren't installed or owned, even if I'm just browsing on the store or game pass.

@Rural-Bandit or just a simple search function so I can find the game I want to look at. Any way to filter it would be great, maybe we could be able to sort it from most complete to least, so all those 5-10gs are at the bottom. Just some sort of basic functions that can filter or search it would go a long way.

Re: Poll: When Do You Think Phil Spencer Will Retire From Xbox?

CunningPig

Not any time soon. They just created a new title for him. He's going to be running all of Microsoft Gaming until the start of the next decade at least. I think he wants to stick around and build something worthwhile with everything they've acquired. I don't think he wants to just buy a bunch of crap and bail.

Re: Two Point Campus Delays Its Xbox Game Pass Release Date

CunningPig

@Bleachedsmiles You had no point, just FUD.

This isn't on MS to make other studio's games come out on time and the delay of a little game like this is a blip on the game pass radar. Your fake concern about this game delay indicating larger issues with MS management is garbage.

They add a steady stream of games every month, big and small. We don't even know what games are coming in the 2nd half of April, let alone any games for May, so it's ridiculous to act like this left a hole in the lineup that needs to be filled by some big game.

Your FUD is transparent.

Re: Roundup: Here's What The Critics Are Saying About Weird West On Xbox Game Pass

CunningPig

"you'll just stop caring about doing everything perfectly. The consequences are just twists in the story you're creating alongside the main narrative"

This is something that I struggle with a lot and it's good to hear that it's okay to approach the game with that attitude. I'm trying to break myself of the habit of save scumming, reading guides, checking for missable achievements before playing, and spoiling myself because I want to get the "best" outcome. If it's baked into the game design that imperfection creates a more interesting narrative, then I can just relax and enjoy it.
