Cancelled as soon as the price increase came in and just got a code for the basic tier (whatever its called now) for online. Honestly not missed it to be honest and allowed me to focus on games I own. I did buy Grounded 2 as that was the only game I would miss and was playing from GP. Honestly I wasn't really using it enough as it was but the price increase woke me up to it so it was an easy call.

@RetroMan71 if you want to continue on Essential I think you can change plan on the console (under Manage Subscription). I just fancied chancing my luck with a code...

@RetroMan71 that's a fair point. I turned off Auto renewal and I have a code from CDkeys for 6 months of Core (Essential) that I will redeem once the subscription ends. If I try and do that now it tries to convert to Ultimate.

Downgraded to Essential. Was in two minds for a little while.and this made my mind up very easily. In some ways it's now channelled me back into playing games I own instead of dipping in and out of GP offerings. They can't be surprised by this really. If I didn't play weekly with some mates I would have cancelled entirely... My internal storage hasn't been so healthy when I uninstalled games from GP that I hadn't played for a while.

When does it actually kick in? Serious question as my ms account and Xbox both say my renewal is £14.99 on 13th October. However the account settings on my Xbox App say £22.99 on 13th October. Handy I know...

Grounded 2 is the highlight for me. Couple of mates and I completed the first one a couple of times. The sense of exploration, discovery....and fear. Coming face to face with a Wolf Spider in the dark never stopped me eliciting a child like shriek...

Tony Hawks and Wheel World will be downloaded for sure...

Wow I did not see that coming especially with all the positive hands on previews we have been seeing.... Not seen other reviews but a read of some of the comments sounds like this is the exception.

@Sol76 yeah I saw a few people were having luck on it and decided to try it but it just hangs when I select my home base. Music play and I am just left looking at the map. Tried it four times now.

I can get to the main menu on XSX but just hangs when I try and start a free flight, photo challenge or activity. Haven't tried Career but I figured I'd wait til it starts behaving before I try that...

My current install with all free world updates and only 1 or 2 DLC planes is over 300gb... The updates are so big now. This is welcome news...

Started playing it tonight and couldn't put it down. I'm a sucker for this type of game...

I really want to buy it but I just kept bouncing off DOS2 like I have tried it seven or eight times and keep bouncing off before I get out of Fort Joy.

Held off on buying it and will definitely give it a go when it arrives on GP. Had a blast playing D3 on Xbox and Switch.

Such a great game. A couple of my mates and I play once a week online (all 40-somethings with families etc) to catch up and this game has kept us amused for many weeks now.

Just started playing Jusant. Its a lot better than I was expecting (not having read or seen anything of it). Only issue I have is I am scared of heights and that does translate to games. As daft as that sounds I always feel a little wobbly when I play a game when I end up being up high.

St Frances Folly level in the original Tomb Raider still haunts me to this day!

I won't. I have a few Ubi games mostly picked up at low prices after they have been out a few months, making the whole subscription model (for me at least) a little redundant. I've had my fill of massive open-world games as well...

Of course, the day-one availability will prove a draw for some I just cant see this taking off, especially given the comparison to Game Pass. If this was say, £7.99 (or national equivalent) then it might be a different story

I am not sure about Coffee Talk to be honest. Its not enough like Texas Chainsaw Massacre for it to be of interest to me...

Surprisingly good month. Sudden Strike 4 looks like its worth a dabble after dipping my toes back into RTS with AOE3 last month...

Nearly pulled the trigger on Mount & Blade on PS as its on sale but didn't. Unusual for me. As soon as I buy a game it usually appears on Game Pass within the month or if its not on sale when I buy it, it goes on sale shortly afterwards (yes Hitman 3 deluxe edition I am looking at you)...

I would have said Pentiment although I have only just started it. However, that was before I started playing Vampire Survivors. That was a surprise after switching it off first time I started played it because I didn't understand the 'no attack button' control scheme. Tried again and boy has that just clicked...

Excuse my naivity but I didn't realise this still worked! I still have 2 years of GP so not really something I can do right now but I thought that was a small window when GP first launched.

@GamingFan4Lyf I did not know that. I new about updates in Energy Saver but I didn't know about it picking up new downloads that were queued. Thanks for sharing.

I think this highlights an interesting point. If you go and buy a game weeks/months after it was released and reviewed, looking at scores at release could tell a wrong story. I have on occasion had to google "post-launch updates" for a game to see if anything has been done to rectify issues at launch.

The state some games are launched in, followed by quick promises of fixes by their studios, it feels like there's a need to re-review certain games after a period of time.

It's an unfortunate state brought about by the quality (or lack thereof) that some games are launched in knowing there is the ability to patch afterwards.

Flight Sim hands down and I play Snowrunner, Train Sim World and become strangely addicted to Power Wash Sim and House Flipper....
Bought myself the Hotas One and slowly flying myself around the world one short flight at a time...

Fortunate enough to have both consoles from each generation but always felt 'closer' and more invested to Xbox. I'm not into the whole Xbox vs PS arguments but I've always bought more games for the Xbox console in a generation than the comparative PS console from the same generation...

Just started playing it and its strangely addictive and relaxing which isnt at all like what DIY / housework is like....

Cleaning isn't getting done because I am playing a game about cleaning.

I am sure I have tried the Sail Forth demo before. I believe this should have released a couple of years ago. Sailing, exploration with some light combat. I do like a ship based game so am interested in this when it finally arrives...

However despite showing as available in Gold, Hydro Thunder Hurricane is showing as Not Available to download when select it.

Just started playing and dropped down to an area that I can't get back from. Only armed with a stick and despite running past enemies I am only finding tougher and tougher foes further. Given the cute style I wasnt expecting the early game to be quite so challenging (or I am just rubbish ). I really want to like it, I love collecting the manual, the style and the presentation but already I am up against a brick wall...

In the midst of converting my loft into a gaming den so this would be a nice novelty addition. Whether theres actually any chance of getting one in the UK is another thing. The Game website wasn't exactly robust when it came to buying either the XSX or PS5... I hope I am wrong but can't help but think this is going to be a perfect scalpers Christmas bonus....

This is the reason I grabbed a Series X before I thought I might or was able to! Last MSFS was 98. Even managed to bag a HOTAS 1; which in the interim has encouraged me to dip back into ED and feeling like I should have bought one years ago! So looking forward to it...
