@Whybox but then you also destroy the lives of the majority of workers who didn't do anything wrong. How is this the solution? Burn everything to the ground? You are also assuming as gamers we accept sexual harassment as a byproduct of playing games which is 100% wrong. I'm not saying the criminals don't deserve to be punished but that the many shouldn't be sacrificed for the crimes of the few.
@John117 yep. I've said it again. People are only responding to what is being published. If we boycott every company when the disgusting few have committed crimes we would consume nothing. Let's put all the developers who don't sexually harass people out of a job. This isn't the solution. The industry as a whole needs to do a hell of a lot more to stop this.
Anyone who wants to stop buying products from companies where staff have committed criminal acts good on you. But don't stop at Activision. You need to go the whole hog and review everything you consume and where its come from rather than cherry picking what the media feed you.
@gollumb82 Demons Souls was great. I don't see an issue with remastering classic games but implementing modern gameplay. Sometimes it's the gameplay that makes it difficult to visit old games even when the story was great.
That being said Sony can do a lot more for those games that they don't see themselves remastering. They have PS Now but the MS offering is much better in this space.
Love the idea but it is just that for now. I doubt a lot of the industry would get behind it whilst there's still money to be made reselling/repackaging.
@Cherip-the-Ripper I did try but it once it's as zero it mutes anyway. Have to keep it at 1 to prevent that. I never understood why it wasn't an option anyway. It's like listening to music on your phone but it plays on the loudspeaker option too. It's such a minor thing but sometimes it's just the simple things that make a difference, at least for me.
The audio one was most anticipated for me. I hate that the sound cane out of both the TV and my headset. I especially hated the trolling about muting the TV when I asked if there was a way to turn it off! Like I want a f***ing mute symbol flashing when I'm playing games. ð
@UltimateOtaku91 probably because Bethesda did the majority of the work before the acquisition and they are still going through the integration too. It will probably be phased out with the newer project releases.
@HungryHungryHomer wow yes 100% with you in this one! I'm having to be selective on what games inay now with so much choice and so little time. I've still not picked up Forza yet...
I'm a big fan of the souls games too so I'll be screwed when Elden Ring comes out.
@Jaxx420 I agree with this. At the end of the day I take a lot from all the services anyway. If its on gamepass I play it on XSX. If its on PS Now I play it on PS5. If it is on neither I play where it plays best or where more friends are If it's multiplayer. Bought GTA trilogy on PS and bought Vanguard on Xbox.
Because of GamePass and PS Now I can avoid paying full price for a large chunk of games and use my money to pay for those not available on the subs. I benefit greatly from this. Games day one on GP is just the icing on the cake.
If MS prove that it's sustainable we can expect more from Sony. MS can take more risks so I'm sure Sony are biding their time tk see how it turns out before bolstering PS Now.
Eurgh and on console wars... I've already said on multiple comments on both here and on PushSquare that it is the very vocal few that treat Sony and MS like gods. I am pretty sure Phil Spencer is some sort of Deity to "purists". It's great that people have passion it's just better spent on our shared passion for games and not this BS hating on the "other side". I've picked it up on DS and it's great. Never played it before and I am very impressed!
@Martsmall there's a lot of that on both PS and PX. I look on both sites quite a bit and there are a toxic few on both sides who seem to think the other is worse. It's very much the same but there are also a lot of legitimately good people on both sides too that just want to talk about games.
@stinkyx agree with this. A complete reverse on the Xbox One launch where they were all over the place with their message. This gen is very much with the player in mind.
I haven't noticed faster loading times has anyone else? I could kind of tell visually but I and some mods on already anyway so not sure. The content is mainly what I wanted anyway.
Both have had a great year nobody can doubt. Don't care for the ones who did better. They both did right by their fanbase one way or another and the last 12 months have had me more excited about gaming than I have felt in a long time. We have a great lineup on both sides of the fence and I intend to (try to) play them all.
Im excited to play through all of them. I have skipped the gamepass version because I want to play the trilogy. Cheeky Rockstar giving me SA on GP and GTA3 on PS NOW but no VC!
I would have expected this to show up on PS Plus before Gamepass but this is great. I've been trying some anime so this is a good excuse to try some more!
@Richnj yes a generalisation of upgrades not specifically about Skyrim and HFW but about the ongoing debate this generation. As great as the MS offering is (I should know I'm benefiting from it) I am conscious that I am paying a subscription for this too. Which makes it an easier pill for MS to swallow as long as they are pulling in the recurring revenue somehow. But you are right this probably wasn't the best article to refer to this problem. I just see it so damn much!
Just to reiterate I think any upgrade where work has taken place should be paid so happy to foot the bill. That being said some of the Sony tactics have been pretty god awful forcing players down a route of Sony's choosing. But as long as people are paying (which they are) what's stopping them?
@Richnj I don't think this is about misreading one article this is the temperature of the room from the extreme fans on both sides. My comparison wasn't about HFW but more a generalisation of what I've seen this generation.
Anything good MS do an extreme Sony fan will be there to muddy the waters and vice versa.
I am happy to pay for any additional content for any game on any platform and agree that this should be the expectation. Dev work is not cheap and people should be paid for any work they do simple as.
That being said I agree that there is a certain level of hypocrisy on this site when it comes to paid upgrades and now when it is Microsoft charging for it people are now crowing about it being fair.
Again I have a platform agnostic approach when it comes to gaming. I am playing Skyrim on XSX and new GTA Trilogy on PS5 so I am not trying to stir the pot but I do find it irritating that some of the commenters do a fair but if flip flopping on their thoughts around this subject.
Anyway Skyrim with the additional content a d upgrades will be cool until Starfield and ES6 so take my cash.
A lot of people seem to be misreading the complaint by the tweeters here. This isn't a bunch of Sony fanboys complaining. This is the xbox account jumping on some high horse to talk about gatekeeping when they are very much a part of the problem same as Nintendo and PlayStation. @BlueOcean to be fair this won't involve Konami which was one of the main reasons content was missing from MGSV.
This is good news for Xbox. They need more Japanese talent because everything I've played Japanese so far has been on PS. This would bolster GamePass subs no doubt.
I think it also proves that a lot of the toxicity/console war is at the superfan level. The systems are very similar anyway and they ultimately don't care as long as we continue throw our wallets at them.
I didn't like this game when I tried it. It was taking too long to get into putting me in cutscene every fee minutes. I might have to give it another crack though if people are saying it is good.
I think the model they have for game pass right now is fine. Its what they intended and its good value. I disagree with comments about PS Now because even that service is great value for money but I guess its down to personal preference. The old vs new games argument doesn't mean much to me because some new games are trash compared to some of the old greats we see on these services.
Putting all my cards in the table I prefer my PS because thats just how it had always been for me because the 1st party xbox games never appealed to me. But one thing gamepass has done really well for me is allow me to experiment games I might never have purchased. Some games I couldn't touch on any subscription service (lengthy RPG's) because you never know when it will be taken off. I'm actually looking forward to some of the upcoming 1st party games for xbox too and the fact that they are on gamepass day one is really impressive.
@Gaming365247 as I said I have GPU so I am unaffected but I still feel for those that are. You are twisting what a lot of people are saying here. Nobody has a problem with price hikes depending on the current climate. This is double the price for the same service. In fact it would have made more sense to discontinue the service.
What you are saying here is that people should accept price hikes without question which is only the kind of behaviour an idiot would exhibit. If MS decided to double the price of gamepass for the same level of service would you simply pay up? No you would want to know why the price was increasing. The cost of development has not doubled in the last 12 months and the cost of their current gold operating model has certainly not changed.
It's not about well paid jobs or anything like that. I am one of the fortunate people who has a very well paid job but doesn't mean I would just accept an increase in prices of that magnitude without question. You are also assuming that by pointing out that this price hike isn't justified that I assume all price hikes are not justified.
I didn't realise people had this level of ignorance to the world around them so thank you for teaching me something new today.
@Gaming365247 it was double the price with no extra value or real justification to support it. The price hike should come out of GamePass if anything as that is where all the value is. If your Netflix subscription doubled in price you would want to know why. For those of us who have gamepass it is easy to dismiss this because of the value we get.
I have gamepass but I think this is pretty bad for the more casual gamer. I guess MS have decided what kind of gamer demographic they are targeting. Unless they have something up their sleeve to reveal they will probably push a chunk of their fans to PC/PS. Doubling up with no additional value just doesn't look great. It certainly looks like the are attempting to push the market down the GPU route.
I loved Yoshida and the best part about him taking the stage is he would talk "to" you and not "at" you like Jim Ryan. Don't get me wrong the guy is probably an intelligent businessman and might be nice outside of Sony but he is the wrong man for taking the stage and taking about games.
@NEStalgia ignore Jim Ryan he is a total bell. I love the PlayStation brand but I hate everything about him. He's a backtracking toxic MF and I hate the ideas he brings with him. It is people like him that will see an amazing game and saturate it for everything it is worth rather than promote creativity within PlayStation studios.
Sony had some new approaches with PS4 that brought some creative genius to the table. Now MS are doing the same with their developers and its stuff like this that I love. Let the creators be creative! ð
@evan23 this is the same for me strangely. I think the only additional complaints I have is that the quick resume seems to decide when it wants to work for some games. I find some online games stop games like Valhalla and Ori from being quick resumable. Forgo Horizon 4 seems to be the best quick resume example for me so far but this will be ironed out I'm sure.
The console itself is great and I'm enjoying it. Just need Activision and MS to iron out which of them is making my consoles power down when playing Cold War...
@mousieone I guess a response to Gamepass doesn't need to be a Gamepass model but more something just as enticing.
I hate Jim Ryan and don't think he represents PlayStation in my eyes. He's just a corporate mouthpiece who wants to saturate any IP that does remotely well.
@NEStalgia ewwww certainly not back then! I think there is definitely value there now considering the price for what is on offer. This has exactly why both MS and Sony need to do well. One always humbles the other eventually!
@NEStalgia I don't think that's a completely fair assessment. Yep the messed this up, they had the foot in the door for this and did nothing with it but the service they have now isn't that terrible It isn't a match for GamePass that's for sure but it runs well and has a ton of great games (albeit older games). It will be even better once they complete their deal with MS to use Azure which is a great service offering.
I guess for me I see PS Now as a large library of older and classical games whereas GamePass is the push on a smaller more modern library. Sony cannot compete here.
@Thretosix Sony aren't the only ones guilty of this though pal come on. Let's not forget they were open to cross platform with FF14 but MS insisted on MS only servers...
Sony is much worse for this but MS doesn't get to act like it was always open to cross platform. Times are changing so hopefully both can get crossplay sorted between them so we can just play games
I'm glad I didn't order from Amazon in the end just because of the sheer number of preorders they will have taken in. I ordered mine from Currys and it will be here between 14:30-15:30. I'm working today so not really bothered about getting it early.
I guess it could work by targeting some of the demographic that doesn't subscribe to Disney Plus but plays Xbox. Maybe it is a discounted rate as opposed to being inclusive.

Re: Review: Assassin's Creed Valhalla - The Best Entry To Date, And A Series X Showpiece
I've had two very brief moments of screen tearing on Series X but other than that it has been running perfectly.
Re: Xbox Congratulates Sony On The Launch Of The PlayStation 5
@NEStalgia ewwww certainly not back then! I think there is definitely value there now considering the price for what is on offer. This has exactly why both MS and Sony need to do well. One always humbles the other eventually!
Re: Xbox Congratulates Sony On The Launch Of The PlayStation 5
@Thretosix ermmmm I thought his response was pretty anti troll?? Seemed pretty fair.
Re: Xbox Congratulates Sony On The Launch Of The PlayStation 5
@mousieone what console war???
Re: Xbox Congratulates Sony On The Launch Of The PlayStation 5
@NEStalgia I don't think that's a completely fair assessment. Yep the messed this up, they had the foot in the door for this and did nothing with it but the service they have now isn't that terrible
It isn't a match for GamePass that's for sure but it runs well and has a ton of great games (albeit older games). It will be even better once they complete their deal with MS to use Azure which is a great service offering.
I guess for me I see PS Now as a large library of older and classical games whereas GamePass is the push on a smaller more modern library. Sony cannot compete here.
Re: Xbox Congratulates Sony On The Launch Of The PlayStation 5
@Thretosix Sony aren't the only ones guilty of this though pal come on. Let's not forget they were open to cross platform with FF14 but MS insisted on MS only servers...
Sony is much worse for this but MS doesn't get to act like it was always open to cross platform. Times are changing so hopefully both can get crossplay sorted between them so we can just play games
Re: Yes, Xbox Boss Phil Spencer Is Planning To Get A PlayStation 5
Love this and doesn't surprise me. That 0.1% of "gamers" that see gaming as a war...
I might just plug my series X HDMI 2.1 into my PS5 and vice versa just to make the fanboys squirm a bit.
Loving the Series X at the moment. What I find interesting is that the Series X running Valhalla is quieter than my PS4 Pro in rest mode... ð
Re: Amazon's Xbox Series X Pre-Orders Won't Arrive For Everyone On Launch
I'm glad I didn't order from Amazon in the end just because of the sheer number of preorders they will have taken in. I ordered mine from Currys and it will be here between 14:30-15:30. I'm working today so not really bothered about getting it early.
Re: Talking Point: What Will You Be Playing First On Xbox Series X|S?
Probably Valhalla and Ori
Re: Rumour: Is Disney+ Coming To Xbox Game Pass?
I guess it could work by targeting some of the demographic that doesn't subscribe to Disney Plus but plays Xbox. Maybe it is a discounted rate as opposed to being inclusive.
