Yeah it's a real downer. Wanted to play over the Xmas holidays and had it in my basket all ready to purchase. Then the save problem and having played BG1 + BG2, yeah there's no way I'd ever work up the enthusiasm for another playthrough after losing dozens of hours on a save.
Chose to wait for an update and bought Robocop: Alex Murphy edition instead. Absolutely loving it.

That's what I actually said. Which is the same as you saying I didn't like AW2, not my kinda game. At no point did I say Hi-Fi rush was bad.

@F1at8mot0 glad it's not just me. I thought it was due to me using multiple controllers and switching from Xbox to dualsense. But I'm same, after an hour or so my left hand especially aches. I think the stick placement on Xbox is way better, my hands just seem to feel more natural. Would love dualsense to adopt the same design.

@Nighto4 hell yeah. Absolutely loved the OG. That feeling when you first see the T-rex and it rips through everything chasing you. That part of the game for me is right up there with OG RE when the dogs jump through the window. Epic. Haha 😄 good times.

Working until boxing day, then few days with family so not much gaming till next week. I'll be continuing:

Switch: Sega collection Final Fight 2(great game for a 10min blast every now and again).
Evercade : playing through Alien Breed series on Team 17 collection.
Also picked up Alan Wake remastered for £8 from the sale. Never played the OG and I wanna dive in before I start AW2 (which is hopefully in my xmas stocking 😀).

@PsBoxSwitchOwner nothing really major? Last Sentinel, OD, Blade, Hellblade 2, monster hunter wilds, The First descendant Khazan, Jurassic Survival, Tales of Kenzera, SEGA, The Casting of Frank Stone ... just a few I can recall. Imo was a great show and tons games to look forward to in next couple years.

Holy wow! Recently price dropped in UK for Series X - to £389. Guess what? Sony have just dropped the price of PS5 to - £389. Let the battle commence!

@Enigk and what happens when they put an ad on bootup, then on dashboard, then on game start, and then mid-game and for good measure an ad when you quit. I don't wanna do like 10 cancels when all I want to do is have a quick 5mins in a game. We don't watch TV for the same reason. If I want to buy something I reckon my brain can direct me down the right path.

@StylesT that's not the point though. It's an intrusive ad that we didn't ask for. If XboX was a free service then fine throw some ads in there. But it's like paying for top tier Netflix and halfway through a movie an ad pops up. Not the end of the world you're right, but darn annoying when you pay for a service w/o ads.
I did get this ad btw, also while playing AC Odyssey. I was in the middle of a mission, opened my map and bam. My world didn't end but it sure broke the immersion.

Really winds me up that people still refer to the UK as part of the EU. We ain't European. We're British thnx.

Personally never bothered with rewards. I turn in the quests I get from naturally playing whatever I'm playing, but loading up a game or logging onto search in Bing or whatever hoops just seems like I'm doing work. I don't play on my Xbox to work. So I'm quite glad they're killing it.

@Widey85 yeah I agree with you there. I too have gone XboX this gen after being PS4 last gen. But I'm a gamer as I assume are you and everyone on here. As gamers we know the ecosystems and tactics of both companies. And as gamers we kinda get a feel for where this gen is going.
Problem is, Sony are masters of marketing. They aren't particularly concerned on keeping or looking after their players much after they've bought into the system. And most non-gamers, or new to console gamers will choose the shiny new white console with its nice sparkly adverts. So yeah, PS will outsell XboX this season of that I have no doubt, but let's see in Q1 2024 how many of those stay with PS or migrate to the XboX ecosystem.

Only reasons I can think of on Sonys part is they want parity across PS5 digital and disc version. Or cheaper just to release one dl code for all PS users than have to release a disc version too. After all PS slim is the first console ever to actually increase price over the base model while significantly reducing manufacturing costs. I think Sony are really counting those pennies.

Probably gonna pick up the Indiana Jones Lego collection for less than a fiver. Great games. I'd like to get Antstream Arcade but it's not on sale and £30 for a year is a bit steep for all retro. I do love my retro gaming though. Might check see if Atari 50 comes on sale for Xbox too.

@OldGamer999 the modding community is thousands of folks, usually modding non-stop. Whereas someone working at a studio usually works their day and then goes home.

Also tons of OG and 360 games bonus sale. Just picked up the Lego Indiana Jones collection for less than a fiver. Imo some of the funniest Lego series. Harrison Ford ftw .

What about the sim racing community too? No way am I using the official Xbox wheel and ditching my G29. Seriously it would be cheaper for me to just buy a PS5 than build a whole new racing rig.

@Kobeandodom there's no way you are using the 1st party Xbox wheel. Widely known to be a crappy product with an inflated price tag. But hey as you say, apparently you don't mind paying more for an inferior product. Most sane people do.

Playing on XsX since launch. Honestly had no major issues. A few timed the replays glitched out and displayed black boxes instead of rendering parts of the track. Apart from that fine.
I've completed 3 series so far and at driver lvl 52. Applied many liveries and had no problems with saves or restarts. Which btw it does save regularly, and gives you the option to save whenever you change your car/design.
Enjoying the game immensely...
However... I haven't tried online multi-player yet, so maybe my experience will change.

Gotta be Robocop for me. So glad it's based on the Peter Weller version.

Does one need to play AW1 before playing AW2?

Just wondering. How come it's fine for Alan Wake 2 to run at 30fps no complaints, but Starfield is trash for the same reason. Fyi, I prefer Alan Wake.

Possibly more starfield and definitely jumping back into Redfall, would highly recommend trying it after the patch.
Also advancing my settlement in Dawn of Man and probably a few laps or 10 in Forza.
Also, some DD3 on Evercade, Spyro (PS4 pro) and a few levels of Golden Axe or Final Fight 2 on Switch for a pallette cleanse. Have fun all.

If you played this at launch then uninstalled it within the first day as I did, I'd urge you to give it another go.
Re-downloaded to my XsX after the 2.0 patch and its like a totally different game.
Obviously 60fps helps a lot but also much improved a.i. and lighting. A ton of bug fixes and some QoL.
After note: Been absolutely loving Starfield as most people. But man, jumped into Forza Motorsport last nite and wow. Close call, seriously but I reckon imo Forza just beats GT.
