It's a masterpiece! Absolutely chuffed that it won the GotY Award. Cannot recommend it enough...

They waited to shadow drop it here instead of releasing it when it was ready. You probably could have been playing it weeks ago.

$69.99? Eesh. $10 more than the PC version. That's wild to me. Especially with how long it took to get on Xbox.

Unpopular opinion here. I have never liked turned based combat. But bought for PS5 because of the hype…..and just reaffirmed I don’t like turned based combat. Good waste of $70

Luckily this delay gave me enough time to have the dust settle on all they hype to where I could realize how it's not for me.

Bit disappointed it seems to be only on Xbox console and not Xbox PC. I did not expect it to be on Game Pass, but I **really** appreciate Play Anywhere games.

I guessed that Larion might do this. Game purchased & downloading (133Gb) but I have to go to work, so it's going to be a long long day.

At least I have something to look forward to for the weekend and beyond .

Again, not sold in Japan Stores. Will the day come when Xbox games will be sold in Japan?

I wish there was a demo for this. Like I said before, it looks like an outstanding game but I'm scared that I'm not going to like the combat and the excessive inventory management. Sigh...
I'll wait for a nice sale. I already have Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden pre-ordered and Game Pass is keeping me busy these days with World War Z Aftermath.

Lot hype for this game. Really look forward to playing, so just waiting for to go on sale. $70 for a game is just ridiculous. Good thing I have ton in my backlog to play. Plenty of time to wait for good sale.

Nice to see if get in under the wire for 2023. I still need to play more Starfield before I start on another big game though.

@Casco Oh its turn based combat? Thank you for the warning. Now I know why people are saying the game is hundreds of hours long. Simply trying to get thru a fight encounter is longer than watching a fight on dragonball z going on for 7 episodes.

We both appreciate the quality of the game but that doesn't mean it's for everyone. From what I've seen, it looks absolutely overwhelming, and not in a good way. I don't want to spend time googling DnD lore and the best strategies for having the dice land in my favor. Like I said, I'll eventually give it a try when the price drops significantly. I don't want to throw away good money on something that I'll regret buying.

What about that three disc version? Is that available now too?

Get yourself a cheap copy of one of the X com games which are always on sale for dirt cheap.
They’re great games with turn based combat.
You’ll at least find out if you like the combat and not waste a load of money.

For those who are not dungeons and dragons fans, familiar with the D&D ruleset or turn based games should really do their research on the game before getting swept up in the hype. I brought the game (Got swept up in the media hype) and sorely regretted it even though I love turn based games for a variety of reasons.

Just because it is a 10/10 game doesn't mean you'll automatically like it. I love Persona 5 Royal which has many 10/10s from the same media outlets but I know it won't be everyone's cup of tea.

I can understand that turn based doesn't excite like an action game based on your reflexes. However it's a game which is bigger in scope and choices than almost anything out there apparently. My colleague in work bought the game having been a huge fan of Elden Ring, Uncharted, Call of Duty and Fifa and hated the turn based games he had tried (Persona 5 and FF7) but absolutely gushes about BG3. I want to play it, just so I can compare notes rofl 🤣 Sounds mesmeric.

@rustyduck I love GP. The selection of games is great. However, MS has been real unlucky with its gambles (paying for day 1 stuff) We've had a ton of new releases, almost on the upper scale; Cocoon, Hi-Fi Rush, cassette beasts and Sea of Stars. They have been overshadowed by games released elsewhere like BG3, Street Fighter 6, Dead Space remake, Resi 4, Diablo 4 etc. All great though!

We've also had some turds like Redfall and Forza which doesn't help rofl 🤣

@Casco thanks for the confirmation. I don’t like CRPG turn based either but heard so much hype about BG 3 I thought it might be worth a try; but if it’s combat is equally as rigid as other turn based CRPGs, I’ll pass.
