@Doomcrow nah man, you shoulda bought a Series X. Runs and looks great for me. Had no issues. Plus I quite like the A.i., it's like racing against real people. After all that's what happens in races. Have you ever raced against someone and they obligingly let you pass without slowing/weaving or shunting you from behind? I haven't and it's fun. It's almost as if the A.i. gets annoyed 😆.

Loved these games at launch and still do. Still hold up imo. Asylum my fave I think. Always preferred Batman to Spiderman. Batman is a lot darker and more 'adult ' imo whereas SM is very kid friendly.

Great list to start things off 👍. They all sound like well worth dipping into. Personally looking forward to Electrician Simulator and Redwall.

Hmm, well after all the non-verbal hints Phil has given, wouldn't surprise me at all if a remaster of Hexen drops. That'd be cool.
Also imagine the explosion of excitement if Phil was telling a few porkies and a whole bunch of Acti-Blizz titles drop on GP. That would definitely secure xbox as THE place to be in 2024. Here's hoping.

Voted all but Ara. Can easily see Avowed and HB2 with dates upto the end of summer. Wouldn't be surprised if they held Indy till xmas and bundled it with the release of the new Xbox design.
I think having that iconic 'Indiana Jones ' logo on the box could be a console seller.

@NeutronBomb true yeah. Personally managed to avoid spawning but I can imagine it's quite hard for working parents to continually monitor their kids. I still don't think it's a MS problem though (cept having auto-upload on by default), but yeah it's a tricky one.
As a thought perhaps they could just release parental controls to view uploaded content? So if you wanna upload or view others uploaded content you have to put in a PiN number. They used a similar system on the Wii back in the day.

@NeutronBomb the answer is on the parents. They can't allow their kids to play age rated content and then moan when they see something they shouldn't.

@VoidPunk personally I don't find nudity or violence in games offensive, nor do any of the other ADULTS I know. Why should we not have access to these things? Just due to you being offended. If YOU don't like it gives you no right to impose a ban on people who have no issue.
I do agree that auto upload should be off by default though.

Zero chance of consoles disappearing. People tend to forget that you can't just use a blanket term 'gamer' to encompass all people who play games.
There's the dedicated gamer who will always want best looking, best response, zero lag in games.
Casual gamers, or 1 finger players who may play a few hrs a week on whatever is available, most notably smart phones etc and only occasionally console game.
Also there's the homebrew market. Gamers who continually tinker and take apart, reassemble their own consoles.
Don't forget the PSX, PS2, PS3 and soon PS4 and OG Xbox 360, Xbone are all systems not produced anymore. Some for over 20 years and still people game on those systems.
If this somehow was the last gen of consoles I can easily see me playing on my XsX or PS5 in a few decades time (if I live that long 😆).

Gotta be Indy all the way. Absolutely love the movies, yes even crystal skull , though haven't seen new one yet.
I'd have to agree with Kaloudz and guess a shadow drop of Hexen, or a very remote possibility of a new Pitfall game would be great. Either way last years was great and really looking forward to this. Woot.

As others have mentioned:
AC odyssey and Black Flag were the pinnacle imo. Not really interested in the latest offerings. There's only soo many times I can go through daym fetch quests.

@Kisake maybe. Personally I think it's more the parents job to police their own kids rather than an outside agency.

Real gamers don't give a fig. Everything playable wherever on whatever you like is fine. If there's an exclusive to XboX buy it on your xbox. If it's PS buy it on your PS.
I understand that to have multiple consoles/subscriptions takes a certain amount of disposable income. But being a full time working gen X, idc.
I'm sorry for people who can't afford multiple systems, but meh, that's life kids.

Hopefully clear some of my burgeoning backlog on PS4 and XsX
Keep collecting rare and retro consoles and games.
Buy a new 120hz TV with all the bells and whistles as my 4k Samsung is a bit dated now.
Follow PX and PS articles and get help or contribute if needed.

I remember getting my first PSX. Came with 1 controller, no games and a demo disc which had among others, a short demo where you played a spider. All for the low low cost of £149.99 😆.
TR was first full game me and a m8 bought. Spent a week solid completing it hehe. Good times. I'm hoping the remastered gfx hold up and please please let them keep the old control system. That will really sort the men from the boys 😆 (or women from girls).
Recently bought TR definitive Editions in sale on Xbox store and loving replaying them too. Recommended.

Never played any FarCry series. On the surface looks very similar stylie to the Uncharted series. I assume a lot of people have played both.
Are they similar? Would appreciate info before I delve into yet another game series. 😆 my backlog is screaming at me.

Nice. Looking forward to TR remastered. Just picked up TR 1-3 definitive editions in the sale on Xbox and loving replaying them.

Personally never bothered with achievements. I'd rather they remove the entire thing. Always makes me feel like I have to 'work' for something. I do enough rl work. I just wanna press a button, boot up and play w/e I'm in the mood for.

Ok I agree this is a bit harsh. However I wonder how many people would complain when loads of people start uploading inappropriate images. You can't have it both ways. And no way he didn't know it SS. Of all the time he played it just so happens that he 'accidentally ' managed to upload 3 clips all inappropriate. Hmm. I say on this occasion well done XboX.

@Cherip-the-Ripper yeah Remnant 2 was good enjoyed that. Can't wait for you to experience AW2 😀. I reckon it might top your GOTY. Would recommend setting aside a nice chunk of playtime and take your time. Great game. Yeah Robocop is pretty awesome. Granted its not a very cerebral game, but the story is really good and hearing a baddie shout ' ...dude you took my fk arm!' never gets old lol. It does have limb targeting which is cool and the sound design is great.
Glad they're doing better as a dev team, I agree Terminator was a weak showing. And man yeah, a new JD game would be awesome.
Would also recommend looking into the Evercade VS. A great little system that uses carts 😀. Tons of games and publishers on there and more carts released everyday. I'm sure theres tons of iP from the 80s just languishing. Haha a new Short Circuit game would be fun too.

@Cherip-the-Ripper thnx for the response. Yeah I do like games with a story and cutscenes are ok if they add to the whole vibe. Used to enjoy GTA V but done it too many times on too many platforms lol. Used to do GTAO a hella lot but again pretty much maxed out everything there.
Loved AW2 and Starfield (somewhat) and stuff like Tomb Raiders, Horizon ZD, SM1 on PS4. Also do like pick-up-n-play games like Forza etc and love soulslike. All hail Elden Ring 😆 and Lies of P.
But I'm also a retro gamer so I kinda play a wide variety. Replaying a few on Evercade atm. The Team 17 cart is good ... ahhh Alien Breed my old friend . Also stuff like Sega Collection on Switch (Final Fight, Golden Axe etc). Never seemed to gel with Zelda either but prolly due to playing the OG many years ago when it launched. Ik TOTK is totally different to the 1st Zelda I just think the 1st game soured me on the characters. Couldn't care less if he saves her or kills her tbh lol.
Back on topic, yeah 50+hrs is OK, don't see the point in rushing through a game really (cept ofc the OG Doom 😀).
Should finish my playthrough of Robocop this week so looks like I'll be booting up Yakuza 0 after that. Thanks again for the info and apologies for the long post.

@Cherip-the-Ripper yeah i just used the term jrpg as a catch-all. Lol idk if saying I don't like Japanese games will get me trolled for being 'racist' . You know how some peeps are very sensitive nowadays.
As for Yakuza didn't know it was more realistic. As I say I just skip past them on GP or in reviews. I may take your advice though and start with 0. What's an average time for a playthrough of Yakuza 0 u reckon?

@FarmDog08 yeah I probably am. Tbh they all look the same to me. I'm sure they play very different but idk, Yakuza/Persona w/e seem very samey in art style. I honestly wouldn't be able to differentiate between the two.
Same reason I don't like FF either. Idk those franchises never clicked with me. Cept maybe FF3 (or FF2 cant rrcall) way back in the day. But I'm willing to give this Yakuza Gaiden a proper go though. Maybe I'll be a convert 😀.

Never played the Yakuza series. Though I've never really liked the jrpg art styles, anime, or whatever the name is now.
Just joined the Game Club so willing to give it a serious go and share my thoughts as a 'Yak virgin' 😆.

@cardcrusher29 yeah was glitchy in story mode. The 60fps seemed to jitter and drop frames. It's smooth at 30fps but personally after 10mins or so I get queasy. Weirdly the PS4 running at 30fps runs much faster. I've no problem playing the PS version.

Good list. I'd like to go even further back. Would love a new Pitfall or RiverRaid game. Shouldn't have any problem with licensing those I'd have thought.
Can't recall (at work atm) but I'm sure I bought Spyro trilogy enhanced for series s/X from xbox store a couple years ago. Runs worse than on PS4, really choppy camera movement.

Forza out of those. Love Starfield and still working through it. But I think that's the problem. Whenever I think about diving back in to Starfield it kinda feels like work. Couldn't gel with Hi-Fi rush. Looks great, sounds great just not my kinda thing.

@gamma64 I bought series x version. Not worth it. Very glitchy and doesn't run well imo. Uninstalled it and went back to standard version. Runs much smoother.

It's gotta be Elden Ring for me. Fantastic game world, great combat, great story. Cant wait for DLC. Loved the look of Ori but couldn't get into it. Starfield was great and I want to jump back in, but idk for some reason it's just not giving me that 'gotta play more' vibe. As for Halo Infinite, never played any Halo game.

@RBRTMNZ again. Please read my OG post. At no point did I say Hi-Fi rush was bad. It is a great game ... but NOT MY KINDA GAME!. Exactly what you said about AW2. Now run along child I can explain no more.

@RetroMan71 yeah. Been playing for the last week or so. Great game. The scanlines appear when you go into 'investigation ' mode or when you're targeting mobs. Looks great. And man oh man, now I've upgraded my Auto-9 a little with a few PCB I'm rocking full auto-fire hehe. Having enemies blow apart in a shower of blood never gets old. Also, if people didn't know it has limb targeting too. So fun hearing a bad guy scream out ' ...you took my f arm!'. Lol

I reckon Xbox had a banging year with the GA and their earlier showcase and a ton of great varied games. A highlight I think is the shadow drop info about Blade. Imo it will be Xbox next gen console seller.

Was gonna buy and jump into BG3 over the hols but the save bug stopped me. Picked up Robocop:Alex Murphy edition instead. Only a short way's in so far. Loving it. Also maybe a race or two in Forza.

Yeah it's a real downer. Wanted to play over the Xmas holidays and had it in my basket all ready to purchase. Then the save problem and having played BG1 + BG2, yeah there's no way I'd ever work up the enthusiasm for another playthrough after losing dozens of hours on a save.

@F1at8mot0 glad it's not just me. I thought it was due to me using multiple controllers and switching from Xbox to dualsense. But I'm same, after an hour or so my left hand especially aches. I think the stick placement on Xbox is way better, my hands just seem to feel more natural. Would love dualsense to adopt the same design.

@Nighto4 hell yeah. Absolutely loved the OG. That feeling when you first see the T-rex and it rips through everything chasing you. That part of the game for me is right up there with OG RE when the dogs jump through the window. Epic. Haha 😄 good times.
