I only use Gamepass PC these days, and even at that I use it sparingly. Funnily enough I had cancelled my monthly subscription earlier that morning before the announcement but this is something I regularly do - take it when I want it and cancel it when I don't. I'll probably still continue to do that.

It's a killer for console gamers though, it's actually a ***** outrage and the backlash is justified in my opinion.

If I remember right, some of those dodgy platforming sections were quite dodgy at the time on Gamecube as well. I mean, I was 12 at the time, but I'd done my fair share of platformers and remember this being a nightmare!

There's something I appreciate about an Xbox website giving an honest and realistic review for an Xbox exclusive, in a time when Xbox could really use an outright win. Not a comment on the game, just a note about how fine a thing integrity is

Started with the original, and it was the look of Halo 2 that made me jump in.

I fell off gaming entirely during the 360 era so while my brothers had one, I missed out on most of that gen.

I came back to Xbox with the Series X for Halo Infinite, and Gamepass.

I love the new ones - big expansive RPG’s to sink the teeth into. I was absolutely bored rigid with Mirage. It was my least favourite game of last year. I have almost nothing good to say about it unfortunately.

@Dround87 I don't mean to pounce on your take here, but "fake points which no one cares about" isn't exactly accurate is it? Lots of people care. It's the measure by which lots of people judge whether or not they've seen and done the majority of things to do in the game. And whether that metric is accurate or not is debatable, but it's definitely used. Gamer Score, and Trophy counts may be considered inane to you, but their collection is also considered fun by many. Myself included - I like having things to aim for.

Does this mean Microsoft will be able to report their Game Pass subscription numbers as having a big increase when folks go from Gold to Core, technically? Or did they already include Xbox Live Gold members in those numbers?

I wish they’d thrown it in as DLC to RDR2 (using the same engine and the largely barren post-game map). It would have gone down in history as the best DLC of all time. Would have sold by the bucketload and they could have released it separately too with an option on that edition to upgrade to the full RDR2 package.

Looked good to me. Not a replacement for the 3D games but why the hell not? We’ve got both 2D and 3D Metroid series running alongside each other. Same with Mario, same with Zelda. All Nintendo examples because nothing else is coming to mind but still 🤷‍♂️

@Ashadelo Totally with you on that. I suppose the fact that MGS3 takes place the furthest back in the timeline means that it's maybe not a bad place for them to start if they are going to remake the whole lot eventually. Still... 1 or 2 would be preferred first for me.

Do we know if DLC is included? I can see me picking it up for a month or two if for instance all the Valhalla DLC is included that I never got to. But otherwise… I’m not feeling it.

This game is just really not very good in my opinion. I did around four hours before giving it the boot on PS5.

9/10 for the original Hollow Knight is too low by about one point

Does anyone know if this update implements mission select for single player campaign?

Held off on playing it for a good long while despite buying at launch. I put about 10 hours in after it was "fixed" and was enjoying it, but then Elden Ring and Horizon Forbidden West came out and I thought those games deserved my time more (which I stand by).

Anyway, I'm back with Cyberpunk now these past two weeks and honestly... I'm loving it.

I prefer my PS5 to my Series x (generally speaking) but Jesus Christ man I wish Jim Ryan would sit down and shut up.

What time do games usually become available in the UK? I’m never normally chomping at the bit to download so haven’t taken note before but I’d like to get a couple of these downloaded to play asap after work since I have a free night

@Widey85 @Tangerine I find it very unlikely there’s anything involved relating to marketing deals, business relationships etc. given that PushSquare and PureXbox are sister sites. More likely just the patch making a bit of a difference and the reviewer over at PushSquare enjoying the game more 🤷‍♂️ It’s all opinions at the end of the day.

Yeah as above, unfortunately not one I’m really excited for - though I’ll give it a go and will be happy to be convinced otherwise!

This is a hypothetical of course, because Elden Ring did release, but honestly imagine it didn't come out this year... this has not been one of the great years in gaming, particularly if you're a single-console gamer. There's a good mix over the three big consoles but any one of them alone has not had a great release schedule.

@BBB struggling to feel the hype around this also. Got it on PlayStation and bounced right off it. You can pick it up preowned for about £5-10 physical, it’s a last gen game, two games back in the Far Cry series. Just isn’t that big of a win for Gamepass in my eyes 🤷‍♂️

I missed some collectibles and didn’t want to replay the whole game right away to pick them up. So I’ve been checking periodically to see if mission select has been added, but tbh now that it’s soon arriving I’m probably ready to just do my Legendary play through now anyway 🤦‍♂️

Some awesome stuff in there - it's a shame that most of it is 2023 and we've not seen anything big coming for 2022 that we didn't already know about. Still, Starfield looks really good. Can someone explain to me the "over 1000 planets"? Is this game procedurally generated?

Oh and I've never played a Diablo game before, but I'll be playing 4 - it looks absolutely minted.

That’s the thing about Microsoft/Xbox, if they don’t have the first party lineup this year then they’ve still got the money to throw at developers to make up for it. If there are some good multiplat games coming to Game Pass then it’s a no brainer as to which console I’ll be playing them on! Same goes for folks on the fence about which console to buy, because frankly Sony hasn’t got too much going on this year either unless you’re into God of War.

I never played this one. In my mind I get it completely muddled with those True Crime games and can’t really say why.

Will need to go back and check this out.

Im taking nothing away from this as I’ve not played it yet but as soon as I saw PushSquare gave it a 7/10 I knew it was getting an 8/10 here. I’ll take it as a 7.5 and download now

@themightyant Yeah I'm with you but it's still nice to see those big announcements regardless of the backlog. And don't get me wrong, I have never been so inundated with games to play since picking up a Series X at the end of last year, and with Horizon on PS5, and Cyberpunk finally being playable this week - I'm just greedy I suppose!

If I had any idea on the rules of American Football I'd maybe give this a shot. As it stands, pretty disappointing for console gamers in February!

@FraserG PushSquare is reporting that the new version is available to download. I'm waiting for it on PS5 but can confirm my bro is downloading the 41Gb "patch" now on Series X, so seems like it's definitely legit. Not sure if that means it will be immediately playable, but suppose we'll know shortly!

@thenewguy 😂 same pretty much. Completed it over a weekend then did the 2nd play through in a couple of hours one morning. Total playtime was like 11 hours.

Ratchet was pretty much the same. Returnal and Demons Souls have been the games really worth my time for the plats and I just got Deathloop finished last night, but that’ll be winging it’s way to Gamepass before long so I sort of regret that purchase!

I’ve gone B because January was excellent for me, though February has been a bit of a write off. I hope they can bring back the momentum in March.

Will Microsoft/Sony please buy these idiots soon and get us a proper new Metal Gear Solid game? Also, if Kojima wouldn’t mind just selling up as well, I wouldn’t mind a proper ending to MGS V.
