I believe Microsoft has enough experience by now to manage GP and sales in a way that neither will be harmed.
I don't think having an indie game on a subscription service means it will necessarily sell fewer copies or anything. Ultimately it will depend on how good their game is. I've played good games on Game Pass that weren't good enough for me to buy them, and I've played good games on there that made outright purchase them.
@Kienda Couldn't have said any better. It hurts me because I love Square Enix games and wish to support them, but I feel like they don't deserve my support. Not when they treat me like some sort of inferior costumer.
It's a crappy move from Sony, unsurprisingly, to make a big title such as Silent Hill 2 exclusive.
However, Xbox is the only current gen console where I can play SH Origins, SH1, SH2 HD, SH3 HD, SH4 and SH Homecoming. It's a shame Downpour isn't on the store, but Xbox is practically the home of Silent Hill by now.
(Obviously Origins, 1 and 4 are playable through emulation, but it still counts!)
@UltimateOtaku91 As the guy above said, the games are generally lengthy. As a personal experience, I'd say you will probably end up being drawn to the side content anyways, but don't fret just because of it. These games are so good you will feel that 50 hours just flew by in the blink of an eye. However, even if you just ignore all substories, the main plot has enough to keep your interest throughout the series.
Difficulty wise, I played all of them on normal and they were ok. Except for the secret optional bosses in each game, which were a lot harder yet manageable, fights are generally on the easy side.
@UltimateOtaku91 I would recommend starting with Yakuza 0 as it will make the most sense and it's easy to follow the chronology. The story unfolds in order from 0 to 6 and then Like a Dragon. All the games are on Game Pass so there's no excuse not to play them.
Death Stranding is a game I've always been curious to try but couldn't because I don't own a Sony hardware, and just accepted it wasn't meant to be. Now it's coming to PC Game Pass and I still won't be able to play it because my PC is not good for gaming. I hope they somehow find a way to add it to Cloud Gaming. That would be the only way I could viably play the game.
Console war is cancer, it doesn't help anything or anyone. People are hating on each other because of a hobby that should bring us together. We are living on a moment of intolerance. It's bad socially and it's even worse psychologically.
@Decoy_Snake They might've not invented many of these things (and I never stated that), but made them in such a way that compels their competitors to move out of their comfort zones and work in favor of users rather than themselves so they don't fall behind. That's why Sony had to revamp PS Plus and why they're presenting a new rewards program, because these are things that work on the Xbox and weigh on consumers' decision.
@UltimateOtaku91 I haven't been an Xbox user for long, so I don't know who came up with a rewards program first. However, it's undeniable that this generation Sony has been walking on Xbox path. Studio acquisitions, a rental subscription service on par with Game Pass, first party games on PC, now a rewards program (read on Twitter they had this previously, but it must've been quite obscure, I suppose). I wonder what's next? Maybe we'll see the new PS Plus working on PC and smartphones soon.
@Banjo- Well I don't know why it's coming to PS4 and not Xbox One, but it's only natural old gen machines will lose support over time.
Maybe the PS4 version is justified by the number of consoles sold and still active, which is obviously much bigger than Xbox One. That doesn't mean Capcom has abandoned Xbox users, and I'm glad for it.
I was so excited with the idea of it coming to Xbox and it never did. The excitement is pretty much gone by now. This is the main reason I stopped supporting Square Enix. FFXV has been on sale so many times, however I refuse to pay for it until they release the remake.
I hope we hear good news, but I wouldn't get my hopes too high.
I guess it depends on the game. I intend to buy all the Kiryu saga of Yakuza after playing them on Gamer Pass, but I'm not sure if I'd like to buy Like a Dragon. Game Pass helps us better judge the games we want, and that's not a bad thing.
@Dezzy70 I agree they are talented for this kind of game, but I imagine purchasing them implies on getting their IPs, which I don't see as a positive thing.
Microsoft could always make a deal with them to create a new exclusive IP if that's the case.
@PhhhCough I'll keep playing, maybe I just feel like the beginning is kinda slow. Some things do annoy me and I'll have to live with them. For instance, the map is confusing as hell and the story so far is a mess and doesn't make any sense to me (or I am just too stupid lol). The gameplay is quite good though, no complaints there.
I finished The Medium last week after knowing it'd be leaving GP soon. Didn't find it more than an average game though.
As for Control, I just began playing yesterday for like 2 hours or so, but I'm not enjoying the game tbh. Still trying to figure out where all the praises for this game comes from.
I'm new to the current gen of Xbox and figured GP games had to be verified on the servers before starting. There were situations where I couldn't play due to internet falter. It's good to know it was just an issue and that they are looking into it.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry Questions Whether Features Should Be Dropped On Xbox Series S
How many people have suggested dropping development for PS4 for holding back the PS5, I wonder?
Because, you know... Games are still releasing on last gen consoles, but I only see these kinds of complaints against the Series S.

I really disliked Control. This is a sequel I'm not looking forward.
Re: Final Fantasy 16 Six-Month PS5 Exclusivity Window Confirmed By Sony
Oh sure, after 6 months the game will release on PC, and then maybe even PS4. That's what Sony's exclusivities mean.

Re: Xbox's Latest Insider Update Adds Ability To Mute Console Startup Sounds
I don't dislike the boot sound, it's just too loud. I wouldn't want to turn it off, simply turn it down a bit.

I'm in Brazil and got one! It was 40 reais (something like 8 USD). Used it to buy Lost Judgment.
Re: PlayStation Is Adding Its Own Version Of Microsoft Rewards This Year
@dsar9012 Xbox fans have literally the same things they had before as they didn't lose anything to Sony for making their console more user friendly.

Re: PlayStation Is Adding Its Own Version Of Microsoft Rewards This Year
PlayStation users have much to thank Xbox for. Sony is turning the PS into an Xbox and they are all very happy with these changes.
Re: Multiple Yakuza Games Have Been Re-Added To Xbox Game Pass
I bought them already, but it's good to see these games back on GP.

@anoyonmus SF6 is coming to the Series. Xbox One is old generation, you can't expect it to receive new games forever.

I'm happy that Capcom did not abandon their fans on Xbox, unlike some other company that produces RPGs...

Thankfully nothing worth rushing to play before they leave!
Re: Tomb Raider Is Back! Crystal Dynamics Announces Brand-New Game
@Dezzy70 what difference would it make? The franchise is on Xbox already...
Re: Quick Resume And Share Button Changes Headline March Xbox Update
I actually use the share button quite often to capture videos whenever I want to see some scene or dialogue I might've missed.
The quick resume pin is also a nice feature though I seldom have many games open simultaneously.
